EMB CALABARZON IN CUENCA BATANGAS The Municipal Mayor, Hon. Celerino Endaya, together with the different Barangay Chairmen, Municipal Counsellors and stakeholders gathered at the covered court at the Municipal Hall in Cuenca, Batangas for the conduct of Environmental Awareness Seminar of EMB CALABARZON Region on August 29. After giving the Welcome Remarks, Mayor Endaya encourage the active participation of everyone to implement the proper solid waste management from minimizing waste, to segregation at home, collection and its disposal. He stressed that the LGU are the primarily responsible in providing Solid Waste Management services to its constituents, however its success requires the support and active participation of the local citizenry of Cuenca, Batangas. On the other hand, Ms. Corazon Gasapos, Chief of the Solid Waste Management Section of EMB CALABARZON, discussed the salient features of RA 9003 or the Solid Waste Management Act and the effects of Climate Change while Ms. Marife Peñano gave the overview of the Clean 500 Program of DENR.
