Hamilton, Ontario Dear Mr. Kountouris, During a site visit of November 1, 2012, the following were in attendance: Pierre Kountouris – Hamilton Wentworth District School Board (H.W.D.S.B.) Thomas McGowan – Enviro-Core Inc. John Grguric – Grguric Architects. Inc. Condition Found Moisture migration was apparent and appeared to be entering through a number of sources including broken windows, doors, roof top etc. Microbial growth was observed throughout complex and was noticed by olfactory perception as well as visually. Lead based paint, as noted in document prepared by H.W.D.S.B. Regulated Substance Team, was also observed and found to be scaling and in disrepair. Asbestos/silica containing materials, also identified by H.W.D.S.B. Regulated Substance Team, were observed and were in poor condition throughout basement and boiler area. Additional designated and hazardous materials were observed throughout complex. The current report by the H.W.D.S.B. has already recommended that various areas are restricted to Type 2 entry procedures. Continued…

Recommendation

Given the poor condition of the building and equipment with respect to designated and

hazardous materials, it is recommended that personnel entering facility should be fully

trained in the risks associated with all designated substances and protect themselves by

wearing appropriate respirator protection and all P.P.E.
