Regulatory Environment in Germany• The National Regulatory Agency (NRA) in Germany is Bundesnetzagentur
• Public User ENUM is outside the scope of regulation in Germany.
• The German regulator is not looking at Public Infrastructure ENUM at all .
• Ongoing investigations on a VoIP Interconnection Regime (Successor of the PSTN
Interconnection Regime)
• Several working groups are dealing with this issue
(AKNN, ATRT).
• VoIP Interconnection (NGN) is still in progress.
• VoIP Interconnection (Internet) is not being considered at present.
• A decentralized procedure for LNP is intended to be modified slightly
• Infrastructure ENUM (Private and/or Public) may play an important role for the
Interconnection of PSTN/NGN, Mobile Networks and Internet in future.
• The future role of the European Regulatory Agency is not clear yet.

Years to mainstream adoption: Less than 2 years 2 to 5 years 5 to 10 years
The slope of Enlightenment goes in hand with increasing realism. The phase is still characterized by experiments to understand the benefits and practical applications. The plateau of productivity will be reached, when the benefits are widely demonstrated and accepted.
