ART PROJECTCelebration of Art, Faith

and Spirituality

Please help up create a more inclusive, respectful world through your art. Your work will educate and inspire people of all ages to treat each other and our fragile envionment with genuine respect and thoughtful action. Our project is open to all persons in grades 9-12. And , there are great prizes.

Celebrate what makes life better for you, for all humankind, and

for our planet.

Fifteen pieces of art will be selected to tour Saskatchewan art galleries, libraries, city and town halls, and places of worship of our province for one year. Our judges are looking for work that will promote a message of peace, caring and action to people from all backgrounds and ages. We prefer getting the original but we know that some of you will need to send us a a digital image. All original art is returned to the artist.

Saturday, April 25th, 2020 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Artists, their families, their teachers and the public are invited to this awards event (please see the list of awards and prizes).

ThemesSome ideas for themes could include are but not limited to the following:

• We are one human family• We are more alike than different: but differences

make life interesting• Sustainability of life, sustainable development,

Care of the Mother Earth, Greening and Recycling

• We are part of nature, relying on our natural environment for life

• There is an ocean of wisdom within each faith• What has life taught you about:

- Hate, racism, prejudice, violence, superiority, segregation, bullying

- The Power of love, peace, truth, respect, compassion, inclusiveness, justice, contentment, reconciliation

• Scenes of sacred spaces, festivals, customs and rituals

• What makes you think of the creator and creation?

• Just about anything that inspires you to treat each other and our planet with love, understanding and respect.

Rules1. The maximum size of the artwork shall be

46 cm x 61 cm (18” x 24”).2. Artwork may be in any medium.3. Computer generated digital art shall be

accepted.4. AP art students shall be allowed to submit

digital image of their art.5. Submit artwork flat to avoid cracks in the

paper or paint.6. Each school may submit a maximum of 5

pieces of art (only 1 piece/artist).7. The decision of the judges shall be final.8. The artwork must be submitted before the

deadline date.9. All costs for submitting art are at the expense

of the school and return at the cost of the project organizing committee.

10. Make sure your art teacher has signed your entry form.

11. Fill out the entry form completely. Use paste or strong tape to secure the entry to the back of the artwork submitted.

12. If the art is submitted electronically, send the copy of the entry form signed by the art teacher.
