This competition is to showcase the talents of younger artists aged up to and including 16 years of age who live or study in St.Helens.‘Cultured’ (St.Helens Local Cultural Education Partnership), The World of Glass, St.Helens Council’s Arts Service, St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic High School, as well as Vinyline Graphics, are inviting all young artists to submit an original artwork for selection for exhibition and to win a prize. St. Augustine’s is sponsoring an Audience Choice award, which will allow everyone who visits the exhibition in the first week to vote for their favourite piece of artwork. Also this year, to celebrate the town’s 150th Anniversary, we have introduced a category for artwork relating to St.Helens’ Heritage.Works are welcomed across all mediums including drawing, glass, textiles, sculpture, painting, printmaking, mixed media, photography and digital media.

Artwork submissions will be accepted at The World of Glass on the following dates:

Artwork may be submitted into one of the following categories:• Nursery/Reception• Key Stage 1• Key Stage 2• Key Stage 3• Key Stage 4• Secondary Photography/Graphic Art/Digital Media (sponsored by

Vinyline Graphics who offer a work placement for first place in this category)• Special One-Off Award for 2018 “Out of the Earth came Light”

(Ex Terra Lucem) for artwork celebrating St.Helens’ 150th Anniversary

Prizes will be awarded in each category and all exhibitors will be presented with a certificate.

All submitted artworks must be original works of art

Due to space limitations, artwork must not exceed A3 for pieces submitted by Key Stage 1, 2 or 3 pupils and A1 for Key Stage 4 pupils

Only one entry per person will be accepted

Schools - please do not submit whole classes, but select the best

All work must be clearly labelled on the reverse with your name, age, category and school. The slip below must also be completed and paper clipped to your entry

All work must be ready for display and backed or framed where possible

Please note that work is submitted at your own risk. Although every care will be taken, no liability will be accepted by the organisers, exhibition installers, The World of Glass or St.Helens Council
