Entrepreneurship cell is an initiative to develop a sustained platform that supports peopleacross the region in their own venture; thereby realizing their ideas and converting them to

reality. The cell aims to promote entrepreneurship culture and bring a feeling of intellect in

every student of the region. Cell guides & provides a platform to the students who want to

be the future Entrepreneurs of the country. It also endows them learning & practical

exposure about running different businesses.

This Cell had been working from last one & half years on various projects at Mohali Campus.

The Dept. has won a National Award for the best Entrepreneurship cell in the regions & has

achieved other milestones too. The Dept has already produced 5 companies under itsumbrella.

Entrepreneurship cell is a place for all the young entrepreneurs who belief in carving their

own path. This cell intends to support their ideas nurture them and allow them to turn their

dreams into reality. We develop and support innovative ideas to enhance the quality of life

and thereby we continually improve the position of the company, as well as enhance the

lives of our associates and our community.

That's what our Entrepreneurship cell is all about. It is a great place to work where people

are inspired to be the best they can be and want to be.

GES, IIT Khargapur

The students of Rayat-Bahra Group went to IIT Kharagpur to attend the Global

Entrepreneurship Summit on 16th

January, 2010. GES is one of the biggest entrepreneurial

platforms for academicians, new-age entrepreneurs, eminent business personalities, venture

capitalists and the students to gather at one place and share their entrepreneurial endeavorsand experiences, and to pledge to take entrepreneurship to greater scales. GES 2010, having

Cleantech as its theme, celebrated clean technologies by holding the finals of the first ever

CleanTech Challenge in India and a series of workshops focusing on cleantech. The team

witnessed a strong international fervor by participating in International Conference on

Entrepreneurship where ideas where shared on entrepreneurship by Heads of

Entrepreneurship Promoting Organizations of various universities across the globe. The team

at the summit also attended an inspirational Guest Lectures by eminent personalities and a

panel discussion by Venture Capitalists focusing on college startups.

Campus Commence (Post GES)

The guidelines and the structure for a new department focusing on entrepreneurship

development for the Rayat-Bahra Group were shaped on the basis of the learning inferred at

GES, IIT Kharagpur. The first step included the formation of student team willing to devote

themselves for the spirit of entrepreneurship. With this thought, interviews were conducted

in the Mohali Campus for which 200 and more student showed interest. The result of the

process was a team of 20 enthused students interested in becoming entrepreneurs.

The various different operations for the establishment of the department were worked by

the team. The operation included designing of the logo with a describing motto. The fully

functional website was created and now run by students of the team.

EAD 2010 is a nationwide

campaign to educate college

youth about

entrepreneurship and

inspire them to startup on

their own. The event featured guest lectures by eminent speakers Mr. Probal Roy, Regional

Head NEN and Ms. Jodie Underhill, founder The Mountain Cleaners and interactive sessions

where students meet the speaker and ask queries on entrepreneurship. Along with the

various presentations by IIT and Entrepreneurship cell students, there was official launch of 3

companies founded by the students with the support of Rayat-Bahra E-cell.

Entrepreneurship week India 2011

For one week, lakhs of people across the country came together to celebrate

Entrepreneurship Week India. Designed to

build public awareness and support for

entrepreneurship, E Week India focuses

public attention on today's biggest

opportunities and encourages participants to

reflect on their role as leaders and

innovators. The campaign is led by the

National Entrepreneurship Network and

supported by the Wadhwani Foundation.

Through a range of activities and programs, E Week at Rayat-Bahra organized by E-Cell

focused the countrys young minds on making the most from these opportunities. The list of

activities included Public awareness campaign followed by a street play, idea generation and

evaluation session, very successful Business out of waste competition followed by business

plan formulation workshop, most popular Restaurant running completion, basics of stock

market workshop and quiz.

Nurture Talent Academy Workshop-8th

April,2011

The Objective was to enlighten the students about business planning and management. The

session was on Requirements for starting a venture whereby more than 300 students

participated in the workshop. The key personality was Mr. Amit Grover (Co-Founder of

Mumbai Angels IIT & IIM alumni).

Entrepreneurial Summit 2011

Entrepreneurial Summit 2011 was an evening to celebrate the

true spirit of entrepreneurship in the city beautiful Chandigarh,

when Rayat-Bahra E-cell and TiE got together to create a new

network of budding entrepreneurs from around the northernregion to share tips and problem solving techniques, getting

advice on profitability and career. In its first year, The

Entrepreneurial Summit addressed as its theme "How to create

northern region as the top entrepreneurial hub of the nation".

The Entrepreneurial Summithad as its mission to unite a panel

of distinguished speakers and entrepreneurs in a welcoming

environment with discussions on factors playing an obligatory

role in breeding

synergies of government, industry and

academia to promote entrepreneurship.

This event is a landmark for the growth and

expatiation of entrepreneurship in the

northern region, supplementing to its

accretion globally. The aim of this summit was therefore to identify the key factors which are

necessary to build northern region as heart of entrepreneurship development of the country

and the role of new as well as established organizations in seeing the future.

There were a total of 150 entrepreneurs who graced the summit which include following are

We have signed an MOU with IIT Kharagpur E-Cell to promote entrepreneurship among

the masses. This initiative is taken to aware the students about Entrepreneurship

across the region.

NEN- National Entrepreneurship Network

NEN is Indias largest organization which supports the Entrepreneurs and E -Cell in all

the domains. It is the first time they have visited any organization in Punjab, Haryana,

Himachal and J&K.

Nurture Talent AcademyNurture Talent Academy Indias 1st Training Institute for Entrepreneurs has

conducted many workshops across various different cities of India. The association

aims to bring out the best of the entrepreneurs, and involved presentations, excel

templates, and interactive sessions with venture capitalists, angel investors and

successful entrepreneurs.

TiE The Indus Entrepreneurs

The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) was founded in 1992 in Silicon Valley by a group of

successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and senior professionals with roots in

the Indus region. There are currently 13,000 members, including over 2,500 charter

members in 56 chapters across 13 countries. TiEs mission is to foster entrepreneurshipglobally through mentoring, networking, and education. Dedicated to the virtuous cycle

of wealth creation and giving back to the community, TiEs focus is on generating and

nurturing our next generation of entrepreneurs. Rayat-Bahra Group is on the panel of

TiE & they are supporting the E.Cell in every sphere required by the young

entrepreneurs.

Mumbai Angels

Mumbai Angels is a unique forum where its members may interact and exchange ideas

and knowledge with the students of our colleges. The Mumbai Angels will provide a

unique platform to start up and very early stage companies by bringing them face to

face with successful entrepreneurs, professionals and executives who are interested in

and have the funds available to invest in startup companies.

E-Cell Rayat-Bahra won Debut ChampionAward for Entrepreneurship Week 2011 byNEN at EWEEK Award ceremony at Bengaluru.

It is the first time ever that Punjab has won

award at National Level in Entrepreneurship at

NEN. RBGI-E.Cell won this award out of 500+

colleges across the country.

E-Cell member Gurshane Kapoor bagged 5thposition with his business idea at Envision

organized by E-Cell IIT Kharagpur in January 2011 during its Global EntrepreneurshipSummit.

Launched the first In-Campus Call Centre in the region. Organized one of the biggest Entrepreneurial Summit Of the region on 9 July, 2011 The founders of this company have been included in the top 20 entrepreneurs in India at

Global Student Entrepreneur Awards held in Coimbatore 2011.

CAMPUS CALL CENTRE

We have opened a call centre on the premises of institutions of our Rayat Bahra Group

in collaboration with Altruist Pvt. Ltd. where the students of our Group as well as the

region can earn while undergoing their regular studies and get the influence of working

life.

CAMPUS STUDENT CENTRE

The idea is to bring top rated brands of the food and retail sector with student start-ups

under one roof of a centre for the studying students. There shall also be provision for

COURSES IN COLLABORATION WITHNATIONAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP NETWORK

National Entrepreneurship networking (NEN) is introducing some short time courses.

This introductory course in Entrepreneurship is designed for especially for the young

aspiring students who desire of being successful entrepreneurs. It will provide a hands-

on experience in the process of creating new ventures; and arms them with basic

entrepreneurship skills including idea generation process, opportunity evaluation,

business modeling, creating back-of the envelope cash flows, writing business plans,

negotiation and sales. Students enrolling for this will have awareness about

entrepreneurship and be interested in acquiring more knowledge about starting a

venture.

The objectives are to shape student abilities to:

Another honor to E-Cell is a company called Secugenius

Security Solutions. The aim of this start-up is to providecyber security, penetration testing, onsite training, in

house training, corporate training, seminars/ workshops.

o Royal Incredible ServicesRoyal Incredibles is a company started by Sahil Sharma, along with other

students in Rayat-Bahra school. This company provides cheaper

stationary and other household products throughout the Rayat-Bahra

group of institutes the shares of this company have risen by 10 % in the

last year.

o EypEYP is an event management company created by 4th year

engineering student Mr. Deepak Salaria which provides Event

Managing Solutions to various segments of such as parties,

conferences, meetings etc. This company has already done two of

the major events for huge organizations.

E- Revolution 2011Punjab Government in collaboration with Cyber Media, TiE & Software Technology Park

of India organized "E-Revolution" which is the biggest IT event of Punjab. More than 500

Entrepreneurs & 3000 Executives participated in this mega function. All top companies

like Infosys, Kayako etc displayed their innovations of this year. Rayat Bahra Group -

Entrepreneurship Cell got a space between these companies to display their innovation

done at Entrepreneurship Cell. Our concept of Innovation Shop & Campus Call Center

was admired by all. More than 200+ guests visited our Display Shop including Mr. Shivraj

Patel, Hon Governor of Punjab. Our Display was also shown at PTC News,IBN 7 , Day &

Night News, Zee News etc.

End Polio NowRotary International district 3080 celebrated the World Polio Day on October 22

with the aspiration to END POLIO NOW. The aim was to aware a large number of

crowd about polio eradication and invite the youth of Chandigarh to associate with

Rotary Foundation mission. All the senior members of rotary foundation,

Bureaucrats& Renowned Politicians participated in this event. The event was

basically a youth oriented event hence Dance Performances, Rock bandperformances and many Solo performances were there. Here the company also

managed to collect a donation of 2.5 lacs for the event.

o DzineIt is a company launched by Nitya Singh Dhadwal and Gurshane Kapoor

which deals with all kinds of designing of the company print materialsand multimedia designing .It also caters the area of Web Development

of several organizations and companies like one for South Bombay

Logistics.

o DaffodilsIt is a job consultancy started by the students of Rayat- Bahra

Group.

- Activities @incubation centreo Moonbuggy car

The idea is to develop a concept car known as Moonbuggy which will participate in

Moonbuggy race organized by NASAs Marshall space flight centre to be held at United

States, Space and Rocket centre in the city Huntsville in state Alabama. The teams attempt

to post the fastest vehicle assembly and race times in their divisions, while incurring thefewest penalties on a challenging course simulating the rocky, unforgiving surface of the

moon. This car is being developed in the incubation centre itself.

o Campus Call CentreThis call centre as mentioned is one of the biggest project of E.Cell Rayat- Bahra is being run

in the Incubation Centre.

o WorkshopsWorkshops, activities and various entrepreneurial seminars are conducted at theincubation centre to help students to gain practical knowledge about their venture.

o Space for incubateeEach incubatee is given separate space to enhance and implement his/her business plan.

He/she is made to meet several panel members and angel investors for their ventures.

INNOVATION SHOPS

Campus shops will be launched in each campus of Rayat-Bahra Group. E cell will monitor theproper establishment, coordinating, quality check of the product and supporting them in

building idea which they are presenting. Campus Shop is a platform for students to

showcase their innovation to masses. This enables them to evaluate the idea see the

likeability of the product and get a small vision of how the customers would respond to the

idea in future at a larger scale.

VILLAGE DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE

It aims at finding the ways to improve the rural lives with participation of the rural peoplethemselves so as to meet the required need of the rural area. Entrepreneurship Cellhas

proposed an ideal model of rural development a self sufficient innovation village in contrast

to the current model. Students having eco friendly projects would get a chance to uplift the

working condition of the villages in the India.

COFFEE-O-BAR

A place to dream of as you try to escape the daily stresses of lifeand just a comfortable place to relax and meet your friends. The rest bar

will offer its customers the best prepared coffee in the area that will be

complimented with pastries and other delicacies. Entrepreneurship Cell

will work with Diplast Plastics Ltd. to formulate an all together new company to which will

operate on the GT roads, to offer a rest place away from the din of the city.

VoZ(E-MAGAZINE)

The magazine will be initialized to cater to the rapidly

changing way in which people access information. It is

ideas that drive the creative process and we believe

that innovation is the mother of all great change. It

attempts to showcase some brilliant ideas in a reader

friendly layout. The purpose behind commencing this magazine is to make all the

students of Rayat & Bahra abreast about the various activities and initiatives being

undertaken by the Entrepreneurship cell that helps them develop their interest in this

field of Entrepreneurship.

The headquarters of Entrepreneurship Cell Rayat-Bahra Group are established at the Mohali

Campus of Rayat- Bahra Group where the whole management team of the department

works. The department has spread its wings to two of its branches at the Hoshiarpur and the

Shimla campus of the Rayat Bahra Group. The purpose of launching Entrepreneurship Cell

at other campuses was to provide a platform to all the students who are willing to excel in

the field of entrepreneurship.
