EnterpriseOne 9.2 Installation—Linux A Complete Overview By Karthick Rajan, CNC Consultant

Editor’s Note: This article steps through the process of installing E1 9.20 on Linux, with additional instructions

for a Windows environment. It covers Certification, Deployment Server Installation, Database Installation,

Server Platform Pack Installation, Application Server Installation, Server Manager Installation, Tools Release Upgrade,

and more.

System Certification and Requirements

Certification

Before we begin the installation we will discuss the certifications for E1 9.20.

Tip: Certification of JD Edwards E1 9.20 can be verified from the Certification tab.

JD Edwards Deployment Server can be installed on Windows 2012 or 2012 R2 or Windows 8.1.

JD Edwards Enterprise Server can be installed on Windows, Linux, AS400, and Solaris. For moreinformation, check the Certification tab as above.

JD Edwards DB can be Oracle, SQL DB2, etc. For more information, check the Certification tab.

JD Edwards HTML Server can be in Oracle WebLogic Server or IBM WebSphere Application Server.

JD Edwards 9.2 Server Manager console can be installed on WebLogic or WebSphere (OC4Jremoved).

JD Edwards Development Client can be installed on Windows 8.1,7,2012 R2. Local web will beinstalled on WebLogic or WebSphere (OC4J removed).

JD Edwards WebClient can be used in Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer.

Before we start the Installation Process, we need to meet the Server Requirements.

For Installing JD Edwards, we need at least two servers.

Note: We can Install JD Edwards on Windows, Windows + Linux, or Windows + AS400.

We will be Installing Deployment Server and Application Server on one machine and we will name the machine as E920DEP.

Windows Machine Configuration

Note: For better performance and storage, go for more Ram and Hard Drive space respectively.

We will be Installing Database and Enterprise Server on One Machine and we will name the Machine as E920ENT.

Linux Machine Configuration

Note: For better performance and storage, go for more Ram and Hard Drive space respectively.

OS Windows 2012 R2

Ram 4 GB

Hard drive Minimum 100 GB

OS Oracle Enterprise Linux 6.4

Ram Minimum 8 GB

Hard drive Minimum 100 GB
