INTrO >Beste bezoeker,

We nodigen je van harte uit om te genieten tijdens de Gentse editie van het Enter festival! Ons hoor je niet roepen dat we ‘het mooiste’ of ‘het beste’ uit de sociaalartistieke praktijk hebben samengebracht. We kozen er in de eerste plaats voor om je een zo breed mogelijke inkijk te geven in deze praktijk. Stuk voor stuk gaat het om organisaties of projecten die gewone en buiten-gewone mensen samenbrengen en op geheel eigen wijze naar artistie-ke expressie streven. We program-meren het werk van kleine huizen, stille makers, schalkse groepen, ervaren troepen, nieuwe stemmen en buitenlandse collega’s.

De voorbije tien jaar ontvouwde zich in Vlaanderen een brede waaier aan nieuwe vormen van kunsten cultuurbeleving. De rijke sociaal-artistieke praktijk kan je daar niet uit wegdenken, laat staat tot één definitie herleiden. Meer-stemmigheid is de rode draad ge-worden. In deze editie van Enter nodigen we je uit om de confronta-tie met die meerstemmigheid aan te gaan in theater, film, fotografie, beeldende kunst, dans, muziek, straattheater, performance…

Heel wat kunstenaars, cultuurwer-kers, organisatoren en beleids-mensen zijn sterk betrokken met de sociaalartistieke praktijk.

Hen nodigen we uit om tijdens het festival te debatteren over de vele dimensies van de sociaalartistieke praktijk. En we willen vooral polsen naar jouw mening en beleving. Kri-tisch, zoals het hoort, over de zin en waarde van de sociaalartistieke praktijk, zowel in Vlaanderen als in de wereld.

Ils sont créés et présentés par des participants, des habitants du coin, des gens qui par-viennent à tirer le meilleur de chaque artiste : ils partagent leurs créations avec le public, touchent les spectateurs et font que la salle en redemande. Nous démontrons que l’art est à l’ordre du jour, qu’il est local, mondial et soli-daire, mais surtout, qu’il est social.

They are elaborated and brought to you by participants and locals, by people who succeed in achieving what each and every artist regards to be the highest good: to share their creations with the audience, to captivate and touch them, to make them wish for more... Enter proves that, these days, art is both local and global, that it promotes solidar-ity. And, above all, that it is social.

OVER | ABOUT ENTER Enter is een tweejaarlijks sociaal-artistiek festival. In de herfst van 2010 werd de eerste en succes-volle editie van dit festival ge-organiseerd door kleinVerhaal, De Figuranten (Menen) en Wit.h (Kortrijk). Bij’ De Vieze Gas-ten, Victoria Deluxe, Platform-K, Dēmos & Dienst Cultuurparticipa-tie Stad Gent zijn samen trekker van deze editie in Gent.

Met dit festival presenteren we niet enkel nieuw sociaalartistiek werk maar reflecteren we ook over de kracht en de verscheidenheid van de sociaalartistieke praktijk. In combinatie met verschillende debatmomenten, willen we de ge-laagde betekenis verhelderen van de sociaalartistieke praktijk bin-nen diverse domeinen: het wel-zijnswerk, het kunstenveld, stede-lijke ontwikkelingen… We willen bovendien een stevig signaal ge-ven aan het beleid om de nodige aandacht en zorg te schenken aan de sociaalartistieke praktijk.

WAAROM IN GENT?De sociaalartistieke praktijk is sterk ingeburgerd in Gent. Met Victoria Deluxe, rocsa, Platform-K en Bij’ De Vieze Gasten telt de stad minstens 4 sociaalartistieke organisaties. Daarnaast groeien en bloeien er tal van initiatieven die nadrukkelijk aanleunen bij de sociaalartistieke praktijk: Ambro-

sia’s Tafel, De Ledebirds, Kunst(h)art, Doubleface,…

Gent is dus niet alleen een cultuur-stad in de klassieke zin, maar bulkt van initiatieven die het gelaagde stedelijke weefsel aanwenden om in samenwerking met bewoners tot heel verscheiden vormen van kunsten cultuurcreatie te komen. Het is dan ook een expliciete be-leidskeuze van de Stad Gent om dit soort werk te ondersteunen en te faciliteren. De Dienst Cultuur-participatie speelt hierin een inspi-rerende en coördinerende rol.

VERSCHEIDENHEID TROEF!Binnen Enter Gent tonen we, van-uit een focus op verscheidenheid, een stand van zaken van het so-ciaalartistiek werk anno 2012. Het festival biedt een breed palet aan artistieke talen:

We schenken ook aandacht aan jonge sociaalartistieke projecten zoals Kunstproeven uit Antwerpen, Madam Fortuna uit Borgerhout, KunstZ uit Antwerpen, Mister Wolf uit Antwerpen en Ambrosia’s Tafel. Voorts kijken we over de taalgrens en presenteren werk van Collectif 1984 met ‘La 3ième guerre mondiale sera sociale’ en Théâtre Croquemitaine met ‘Zombies’.

We richten onze blik ook op inter-nationale spelers en ontwikkelin-gen en tonen werk van Frédérique Lecomte in Burundi via de film ‘Kubita’ van Maria Tarantino, van Bleeding Bulls in Burkina Faso via de making of van ‘Sa Majesté des Mouches’, van het Zweedse Spinn met hun dansvoorstelling ‘Obscu-ro’ en het Rotterdams Wijktheater met hun voorstelling ‘Zhong’.

Tot slot wordt Enter Gent doorwe-ven met een diepgaand debatluik: een ontmoetingsdiner tussen de sociaalartistieke praktijk en het kunstenveld, een beleidsdebat, de studiedag ‘creativiteit en ste-delijkheid’,…Kortom: Enter Gent

zet het waardevolle en unieke karakter van de sociaalartistieke praktijk anno 2012 in de verf. Aan u om op ontdekkingstocht te gaan.

FR/ Le Festival socio-artistique Enter Gent 2012 est une initiative conjointe de Bij’ De Vieze Gasten, Victoria Deluxe, Platform-K, Dēmos et du Dienst Cultuurparticipatie Stad Gent. La première édition du festi-val couronné de succès a eu lieu en automne 2010. Il avait été organisé par kleinVerhaal de Bruges, en col-laboration avec Dēmos, De Figu-ranten (Menin) et Wit.h (Courtrai).

Enter Gent est un lieu de rencontre où les organisations et les initiatives socioculturelles de toute la Belgique ont l’occasion de se présenter. Nous nous intéresserons également aux acteurs et aux initiatives internationales. Le festival souhaite surtout lancer un signal fort aux responsables poli-tiques quant à la nécessité d’accorder l’attention et la préoccupation néces-saires à la pratique socio-artistique.

Le programme d’Enter Gent présente la situation du travail socio-artistique en 2012. À différents endroits étonnants de Gand, un tas de travaux seront présen-tés. Enter Gent accorde une attention particulière aux jeunes projets socio-artistiques, en allant au-delà des bar-rières linguistiques et géographiques. Le festival propose également un volet consacré à des débats approfondis.

Platform-K, Dēmos & Dienst Cultuur-participatie Stad Gent. The first and very successful edition of this festival was organised in the autumn of 2010 by kleinVerhaal from Bruges, in close collaboration with Dēmos , De Figu-ranten (Menen) and Wit.h (Kortrijk).

Enter Gent aims to be a meeting place where social-artistic organisations and initiatives from all over the country will be given the opportunity to present themselves. We are also focusing on international players and developments. Furthermore the festival also intends to send out a strong signal to policy-makers that they should give due care and attention to social-artistic practice.

The festival’s programme shows what social-artistic work is all about anno 2012. At surprising locations in Ghent a host of artistic creations will be pre-sented. Enter Gent pays special atten-tion to young social-artistic projects, crossing all national and linguistic boundaries. The festival also offers opportunities for in-depth discussion and debate. bIj’ DE VIEzE GASTENBij’ De Vieze Gasten organiseert en presenteert de meest uiteenlopende sociaalartistieke projecten en evenementen waarbij deelnemers, kunste-naars, vrijwilligers en begeleiders op gelijke voet samenwerken. Voor elk project worden de bewoners uit de Gentse buurt de Brugse Poort en wijde omgeving uitgenodigd om deel te nemen.

FR/ Bij’ De Vieze Gasten organise et présente les projets et événements socio-ar-tistiques les plus variés, où les participants, artistes, bénévoles et accompagna-teurs travaillent sur un même pied d’égalité. Les habitants du quartier gantois du Brugse Poort et de ses environs sont invités à participer à chacun de ces projets.

VICTOrIA DELUxEVictoria Deluxe zet sinds 2002 in Gent en omgeving heel diverse sociaal-artistieke projecten op. In rust- en verzorgingstehuizen, in de gevangenis van Gent, in een sociale wijk, met buurtbewoners, met jongeren uit bin-nen- en buitenland,… gaat Victoria Deluxe op zoek naar het documen-teren en artistiek bewerken van meer diverse leefwerelden en lijfstijlen. Een nieuwe vorm van kunsten cultuurbeleving voor en met mensen die vaak als stemlozen worden beschouwd.

FR/ Victoria Deluxe met sur pied des projets socio-artistiques qui per-mettent à des personnes de tous horizons de s’exprimer. De nouvelles façons de voir les choses émergent et enrichissent les participants. La dimension artistique sert de moteur permettant d’arriver à une histoire sociale dyna-mique et de nouvelles formes de création artistique et culturelle.

PLATFOrm-KPlatform-K is een jonge sociaalartistieke werkplek in Gent die artistieke projecten opzet waarbij kunstenaars met een handicap en reguliere kun-stenaars uitgedaagd worden samen te werken aan nieuwe creaties. Via deze artistieke projecten zet Platform-K de ontwikkeling van een nieuwe vormentaal centraal en biedt kunstenaars met een handicap een platform om hun talent aan een breed publiek te presenteren.

FR/ Platform-K est un jeune atelier socio-artistique situé à Gand qui organise des projets artistiques dans le cadre desquels des artistes souffrant d’un han-dicap et des artistes non handicapés sont invités à collaborer sur de nouvelles créations. Grâce à ces projets artistiques, Platform-K contribue au dévelop-pement d’un nouveau langage formel et offre aux artistes handicapés une pla-teforme leur permettant de présenter leur talent à un public plus large.

EN/ Platform-K is a young social-artistic workshop in Ghent focused on set-ting up artistic projects in which disabled and non-disabled artists are chal-lenged to jointly develop new creations. In these artistic projects, Platform-K highlights the development of a new formal language and provides disabled art-ists with a stage on which they can present their talents to a wider audience.

DIENST CULTUUrPArTICIPATIE STAD GENTDe Dienst Cultuurparticipatie van de Stad Gent treedt ondersteunend en dienstverlenend op voor projecten van derden die een grotere partici-patie beogen. De dienst detecteert nieuwe thema’s en beleidsopties die dit verder in praktijk kunnen brengen. De dienst richt zich hiervoor op drie grote thema’s: cultuurparticipatie van de verschillende doelgroepen, culturele participatie waarbij actieve maatschappelijke participatie door middel van cultuur bevorderd wordt, en kunsten cultuureducatie.

FR/ Le Dienst Cultuurparticipatie (service de participation culturelle) de la ville de Gand propose son soutien et ses services aux projets extérieurs visant à encou-rager une plus grande participation du public. Ce service identifie de nouveaux

thèmes et orientations qui peuvent ultérieurement être mis en pratique. Pour ce faire, le service s’articule autour de trois grands thèmes : la participation culturelle des différents groupes cibles, la participation culturelle entrainant la participation active de la société à travers la culture, et l’éducation aux arts et à la culture.

EN/ The Dienst Cultuurparticipatie (Cultural Participation Service) of the City of Ghent renders its support and services to external projects aimed at increasing cultural participation. The service identifies new topics and policy options for putting this un-dertaking further into practice. To this end, the service focuses on three main themes: cultural participation by the different target groups, cultural participation in which social participation is promoted through culture, and artistic and cultural education.

DEmOSDēmos is als kenniscentrum actief in het Vlaams Participatiedecreet. Ze zetten in op het vernieuwen en verdiepen van de participatie van kansen-groepen aan cultuur, jeugdwerk en sport. Hiervoor vertrekken ze telkens van de leefwereldperspectieven van kansengroepen en een streven naar een meer open, inclusieve en democratische samenleving.

FR/ Dēmos est un centre de connaissances actif dans le cadre du Vlaams Parti-cipatiedecreet (décret flamand relatif à la participation). Leur principale activité consiste à renouveler et augmenter la participation de groupes de personnes éga-rées à la culture, aux activités organisées pour la jeunesse et au sport. L’asso-ciation tient toujours compte des conditions de vie de ces groupes pour viser à construire une société qui soit plus ouverte, inclusive et démocratique.

EN/ Dēmos is a knowledge centre that is playing an active role in implement-ing the Vlaams Participatiedecreet (Flemish Participation Decree). Its main fo-cus lies on the renewal and broadening of the participation of underpriviledged groups in culture, youth work and sports. For this purpose, Dēmos always bases its efforts on an understanding of the social environment of these groups and on the goals of building a more open, inclusive and democratic society.

Wat als we al het geld op de wereld zouden verbranden? Wat heb je dan te vertellen aan de rijkste man ter wereld? Economische crisis, ecologi-sche crisis, politieke crisis, religieuze crisis, sociale crisis, midlife crisis… In tijden waar crisis een modewoord lijkt vormen deze vragen het vertrek-punt voor de voorstelling ‘Verzilverd’. De acteurs vertellen hun verhaal van op een kale vloer, getooid in extravagante kostuums.

FR/ Et si nous brûlions tout l’argent de la planète? Que resterait-il à dire aux plus riches? Crise économique, crise écologique, crise politique, crise religieuse, crise sociale, crise de la quarantaine… À une époque où le mot « crise » semble être à la mode, ces questions sont au centre de la pièce de théâtre « Verzilverd ». Les acteurs racontent leur récit sur un sol nu, parés de costumes extravagants.

kleinVerhaal trok door 17 Brugse buurten op zoek naar straffe, ontroeren-de en heroïsche verhalen. Auteur/theatermaker Frank Adam werd uitge-nodigd om te grasduinen doorheen dit archief. Hij selecteerde verhalen en bewerkte ze tot ‘salonvertellingen’. Ook muzikant/accordeonist Jean-Baptiste Lison ging in dialoog met de verhalen. Samen brengen Adam en Lison de verhalen tot leven, zowel op scene als in diverse salons.

FR/ kleinVerhaal s’est rendu dans 17 quartiers de Bruges à la recherche de récits amusants, émouvants et héroïques. L’auteur et metteur en scène Frank Adam a été invité à parcourir ces archives. Il a sélectionné des récits et les a transformés en « histoires de salon ». Le musicien accordéoniste Jean-Baptiste Lison est entré en dialogue avec ces récits. Ensemble, Adam et Lison donnent vie à ces récits, tant sur scène que dans divers salons.

EN/ kleinVerhaal strolled through 17 neighbourhoods of Bruges, looking for touching and heroic stories. Author/theatre maker Frank Adam was invited to browse through this archive. He made a selection of stories and converted them into drawing room sketches. Musician/accordionist Jean-Baptiste Lison entered into a dialogue with the stories as well. In a joint effort, Adam and Lison bring the stories to life, both on stage and in several drawing rooms.

‘Vlastheater’ is geïnspireerd op authentieke getuigenissen van vlassers. Geen historische reconstructie maar een verhalencarrousel over hard labeur, de kracht van de grond, de wispelturigheid van het weer, de vol-doening van de winst, de miserie na een misoogst. De spelers, actieve 50 plussers, werden op basis van ‘goesting’ en ‘verbondenheid met het thema vlas’ gerekruteerd uit Zuid- en Midden-West-Vlaanderen.

FR/ « Vlastheater » s’inspire de témoignages authentiques de producteurs de lin. Il ne s’agit pas de reconstructions historiques, mais d’un manège de témoi-gnages sur le travail dur, la force du sol, l’imprévisibilité du temps, la satisfac-tion après la récolte, la peine après une mauvaise récolte. Les acteurs, des + de 50 ans actifs, ont été sélectionnés en fonction de leur « envie » et de leur « lien avec le thème du lin » dans le sud et le centre de la Flandre occidentale.

EN/ Vlastheater’ is based on the authentic testimonials of flax workers. Do not expect a historical reconstruction, but rather a carrousel of stories about hard labour, the force of the earth, the fickleness of the weather, the sense of satis-faction after the harvest, the misery after a crop failure. The actors, all in their fifties and all from South and Central West-Flanders, were recruited on the ba-sis of their person al motivation and their ‘connection with the flax’.

FR/ Tu es une créature horrible, puante, répugnante sans scrupule. La pen-sée inoubliable de la mort ne cesse de te poursuivre. Toute forme de mort est un supplice : guerre, Fukushima, travail… Au final, nous sommes tous des zombies de la troisième génération : le genre de zombies conscients et bien organisés qui ne rendent pas la vie facile à leurs semblables !

EN/ You’re an unscrupulous, unsightly, stinking, revolting creature. The unforgettable thought of death keeps haunting you. All forms of death are agony: war, Fukushima, work... On-dertussen worden de dochters langzaam maar zeker het familieverleden ingezogen…

FR/ « Zhong » raconte l’histoire d’une famille chinoise aux Pays-Bas. Les parents ont décidé de céder la gestion du restaurant à leurs filles. Alors qu’ils profitent d’une croisière, leurs filles décident de nettoyer le restau-rant. Les parents gardent un contact avec la famille via internet. Lente-ment mais sûrement, les filles sont entrainées dans le passé familial…

EN/ ‘Zhong’ is the story of a Chinese family living in the Netherlands. The par-ents have decided to retire and pass the restaurant business on to their daugh-ters. When the parents are enjoying a well-deserved cruise, the daughters clean out the restaurant. The parents keep in touch with the home front through the in-ternet. Het Leuvense muziektheatergezelschap Braakland/ZheBilding trok met De Figuranten naar de Belgische grensstad Menen om er een voorstel-ling te maken tussen theater en concert. De muziek is van eigen makelij en het tekstmateriaal wordt gepuurd uit interviews die de betrokkenen afnemen van zichzelf en elkaar. Samen vertellen de makers iets over het leven in de westkantons anno 2011.

FR/ La compagnie musicale théâtrale de Louvain Braakland/ZheBilding et De Figuranten se sont rendus dans la ville frontalière belge de Menin pour y créer un spectacle à mi-chemin entre la pièce de théâtre et le concert. Ils ont composé eux-mêmes la musique et leurs répliques proviennent d’interviews que les participants ont réalisées d’eux-mêmes. Ensemble, les auteurs abordent la vie dans les cantons de l’ouest en 2011.

EN/ The music theatre company Braakland/ZheBilding and De Figuranten joined forces and headed for the Belgian border town of Menen to create a show that is half-way between a theatre play and a concert. The music is self-composed and the lines are based on interviews taken from themselves and from each other. ‘Daantje in de wolken’ is een kamishibai-vertelling: aan de hand van een tiental tekeningen die voorbij schuiven in een klein houten theatertje, wordt het verhaal verteld van Daantje. Die zit zich stierlijk te vervelen voor de tv. Plots belandt Daantje via een niet zo voor de hand liggende weg in de wereld van zijn fantasie.

FR/ « Daantje in de wolken » est un conte kamishibaï: l’histoire de Daantje est racontée à travers une dizaine de dessins défilant à l’intérieur d’un pe-tit théâtre de bois. Il s’ennuie à mourir devant la télé. Tout à coup, Daantje se retrouve comme par enchantement dans le monde de ses rêves.

EN/ ‘Daantje in de wolken’ is a kamishibai-tale: a dozen drawings glide along in a small wooden theatre, thus telling the story of Daantje, who’s bored stiff sitting in front of the telly. And all of a sudden Daantje miraculously finds himself in the world of his own fantasy.

In de voorstelling ‘Gedroomde Stad’ staat de manier waarop de stad kan worden herdacht centraal. Gedurende één jaar fantaseerden spelers en makers van Victoria Deluxe over kleine en grote veranderingen in onze steden. Omdat de klassieke woorden en begrippen niet volstonden om de stad te herdenken, koos Victoria Deluxe om in kleine, tedere beelden te vertellen.

FR/ La pièce « Gedroomde Stad » porte sur la façon dont la ville peut être réinventée. Pendant un an, les acteurs et les auteurs de Victoria Deluxe ont donné libre cours à leur imagination sur les petits et grands changements dans nos villes. Dans la mesure où les mots et les concepts habituels n’ont pas suffi à réinventer la ville, Victoria Deluxe a choisi de la décrire en utilisant des images plus petites, plus douces.

EN/ ‘Gedroomde Stad’ focuses on the way in which the city can be reinvented. For an entire year both the actors and the authors of Victoria Deluxe have let their imaginations run free, exploring minor and major changes in our cities. In dit stuk krijg je een familieportret van zeven vrouwen in hun maatschappelijke context, waar-bij de familie een samenvatting van de samenleving is. In de voorstelling wordt enkel het standpunt van de vrouw getoond, de man is de grote af-wezige. Hij komt enkel ter sprake via de verhalen, dromen en verlangens van de vrouwen…

FR/ La pièce « Zeven vrouwen, zeven kamers » est une adaptation de la pièce de García Lorca intitulée « La maison de Bernarda Alba ». Dans cette pièce, vous retrouvez un portrait de famille de sept femmes dans leur contexte so-cial respectif, dans lequel la famille représente un microcosme de la société. Seul le point de vue de la femme y est abordé, l’homme est le grand absent. Il n’est évoqué qu’à travers les récits, les rêves et les désirs des femmes…

EN/ The play ‘Zeven vrouwen, zeven kamers’ is an adaptation of ‘The House of Bernarda Alba’ by García Lorca. The play chalks out a family portrait of seven women in their societal context. The family epitomizes society as a whole. The play only depicts the position of the women, while the men are conspicuous by their absence. They only come up in the stories, dreams and desires of the women.

“‘t Gaat niet meer, ‘t ga nie mee, ‘t ga ni...”, zegt Nonkel Wanj aan zijn nichtje. Sinds de professor en zijn nieuwe vlam bij Wanj inwonen en alle huisregels veranderen, is elke structuur bij hemzelf zoek. Nonkel Wanj ligt overhoop, andere familieleden houden voet bij stuk. Totdat het ontploft. Een bescheiden en integere voorstelling, over welke eisen een mens zichzelf oplegt.

FR/ « Je n’en peux plus, je n’en peux plus, je n’en…», dit tonton Wanj à sa petite nièce. Depuis que le professeur et sa nouvelle conquête ont emménagé chez lui et chamboulé les règles de la maison, il a perdu tout repère. Tonton Wanj est boule-versé, mais les autres membres de la famille n’en démordent pas. Jusqu’à ce que tout explose. Une pièce humble et intègre sur les exigences que l’on s’impose.

EN/ “I just can’t cope no more, just can’t cope, can’t cope…”, sighs Uncle Wanj to his little niece. Since the professor and his new flame moved in and changed all the house rules, he has lost all structure. Uncle Wanj is struggling, but the other members of the family stick to their guns. Until the situation explodes. A modest and honest play about the high standards we set for ourselves.

‘Chaos’ vertelt het wel en wee van 18 mensen in een wat verouderd ho-tel. Jong en oud werken er samen. Klanten komen en gaan. Maar niets kan eindeloos blijven zoals het is. Door een gebeurtenis van buitenaf wordt het leven van zowel de klanten als het vaste personeel grondig door elkaar geschud. Zekerheden smelten als sneeuw voor de zon.

FR/ « Chaos » nous raconte les hauts et les bas de 18 personnes dans une sorte de vieil hôtel. Les jeunes et les vieux y travaillent ensemble. Les clients vont et viennent. Mais rien ne dure indéfiniment. Un événement extérieur vient chambouler la vie des clients et du nombreux personnel. Toute certitude fond alors comme neige au soleil.

EN/ ‘Chaos’ brings us the story of the ups and downs of 18 people in a some-what outdated hotel. The young and the old work together. Guests come and go. But nothing is forever. An external event rocks the lives of both the guests and the staff. And all certainties vanish into thin air.

Bij’ De Vieze Gasten vierde in 2011 haar tienjarig bestaan. En daar hoort uiteraard een feestelijke Revue bij, de geliefde theatervorm van deze or-ganisatie. ‘Iets met beesten’ is een grotesk spektakel dat start in het Pier-kespark maar uitmondt in een onvergetelijk festijn. Speciaal voor Enter Gent werd deze Revue in een nieuw kleedje gestoken.

Cela a valu une belle revue festive, le style théâtral préféré de l’association. « Iets met beesten » est un spec-tacle grotesque qui commence dans le Pierkespark, mais débouche sur un festin inou-bliable. À l’occasion particulière d’Enter Gent, cette revue a été parée de nouveaux atours.

And that, of course, called for a festive Revue, the organisation’s favourite theatre form. ‘Iets met beesten’ is a grotesque spectacle that starts off in the Pierkespark and ends up in an unforgettable feast. ‘Van hier naar ginder en terug’ speelt zich af in een wassalon. Onbeken-den confronteren elkaar met hun dromen, wensen, angsten en verlan-gens. Het wassalon wordt een schuiloord, een plaats van bezinning, een plaats waar roddels ontstaan, waar informatie wordt ingewonnen en waar zelfs wordt gedeald. Treed gerust binnen.

FR/ « Van hier naar ginder en terug » se déroule dans un salon-lavoir. Des inconnus y échangent leurs rêves, leurs souhaits, leurs peurs et leurs désirs. Le salon-lavoir devient un havre de paix, un lieu de réflexion, un lieu où les rumeurs naissent, où les informations s’échangent et où l’on deale aussi.

EN/ ‘Van hier naar ginder en terug’ takes place in a launderette. In this setting, stran-gers confront each other with their dreams, wishes , fears and desires. The laun-derette becomes a safe haven, a place of reflection, a place where gossip grows, where information is shared, and where even drug dealers sell their wares.

Daar kan je iets drinken - oef! - en zullen telkens andere organisaties samenwerken om de bezoeker aangenaam te ver-rassen. Telkens iets unieks, iedere keer anders. Kijk met verwondering naar wat er zich afspeelt tussen toog en tafel. Zing en dans gerust mee maar vooral: geniet.

Voor ‘Cimbalom Express’ trokken Mattias Laga en Martin Balogh voor een week met een cameraploeg naar het Slowaakse Košice. Daar haal-den ze Martin’s cimbalon op, een snaarinstrument dat percussief wordt bespeeld. De korte roadmovie die tijdens deze tocht werd gedraaid, wordt op Enter vertoond. Met live soundtrack wel te verstaan.

FR/ Pour « Cimbalom Express », Mattias Laga, Martin Balogh et leur équipe de tournage se sont rendus pendant une semaine dans la ville slovaque de Košice, où ils sont allés chercher le cymbalum de Martin, un instrument à cordes joué en frappant celles-ci. Le petit roadmovie qui a été tourné pendant ce voyage est dif-fusé dans le cadre d’Enter. La bande originale est jouée en direct, bien entendu.

Serdi & zijn crew komen vanuit alle hoeken van Gent. Ze kennen de par-ken en de straten van de stad als hun broekzak. Daar beatboxen ze, doen ze aan breakdance, zingen ze, schrijven ze. Speciaal voor Enter Gent brengen ze hun straatrepertoire voor één keer op de planken Bij’ De Vieze Gasten. Elke artiest die optreedt, duikt tijdens het festival op andere voorstellingen en locaties op. Een gewaarschuwd man/vrouw is er twee waard.

FR/ Serdi et sa bande viennent des quatre coins de Gand. Ils connaissent ses parcs et ses rues comme leur poche. C’est là qu’ils font du beatbox, de la breakdance, qu’ils chantent, et qu’ils écrivent. À l’occasion d’Enter, ils pré-sentent pour une fois leur répertoire de la rue sur les planches de Bij’ De Vieze Gasten. Chaque artiste qui monte sur scène pourra surgir dans d’autres spec-tacles, à d’autres endroits. Une femme/un homme averti(e) en vaut deux.

EN/ Serdi & his crew come from all corners of Ghent and know the city’s parks and streets like the back of their hand. That’s where they beatbox, breakdance, sing and write. Exceptionally for Enter Gent, they will perform their street reper-tory onstage at Bij’ De Vieze Gasten. Een dozijn mensen, allemaal met ervaring met het leven in armoede, brengt liedjes geïnspireerd door hun bestaan. Eenvoudig, ontroerend, herkenbaar. Over vriendschap, de kinderen of over kassa’s die gevaarlijk dichterbij komen en moeders die topkes van de worsten snijden... Wat ze zingen raakt diep.

FR/ Une douzaine d’hommes connaissant bien la pauvreté présentent des chansons inspirées de leur existence. Simple, touchant, reconnaissable. Des chansons qui parlent de l’amitié, des enfants, de caisses qui s’approchent dangereusement ou de mères qui coupent le bout des saucisses… Leurs chansons nous touchent profondément.

EN/ A dozen people, all of them ‘hands-on’ experts on life in poverty, perform songs inspired by their own existence. Simple, touching, recognisable. Kunstenaars Maaike en Fairuz trokken mee op tocht en leidden de film via onvoorspelbare, kronkelende banen naar Waregem, Brugge, Roeselare en Oostende, plaatsen waar kleinVerhaal in het verleden al neerstreek. Het resultaat wordt in première getoond op Enter Gent.

Un récit sur les clubs de mobylettes et leurs mobs rafistolées en route vers un rassemblement célèbre. ‘Iets korter aub!’ vertelt over het leven in de wijk Sluizeken-Tolhuis-Ham, één van de 19de eeuwse gordelwijken aan de noordzijde van de stad Gent. Kleine en dagdagelijkse verhalen brengen je tot de veranderingen en uitdagingen in de grotere wereld.

FR/ Les récits brefs de la vie de tous les jours de « Iets korter aub ! » parle de la vie à Sluizeken-Tolhuis-Ham, l’un des quartiers du 19e siècle situés le long de la ceinture nord de Gand, et des changements et défis internationaux. Chaque spectateur s’apercevra que le bon sens populaire peut traiter les questions les plus importantes de la vie !

Theatercollectief Bleeding Bulls trok naar Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, om er met jonge acteurs uit de sloppenwijken de theatervoorstelling ‘Sa Majesté des Mouches’ te maken. Cineast Joost Wynant draaide een do-cumentaire over deze boeiende clash tussen Noord en Zuid.

Op zaterdag 3 maart om 20:00 kan je in Theater Tinnenpot terecht om de theatervoorstelling zelf te zien. De makers zijn ook te gast op Sap Mon-dial, de debatdag op woensdag 21 maart (zie Pg 131).

FR/ Le collectif de théâtre Bleeding Bulls s’est rendu à Ouagadougou, au Burkina Faso, pour travailler avec des enfants de la rue et jouer la pièce de théâtre « Sa Majesté des Mouches » . Le cinéaste Joost Wynant a réalisé un documentaire sur ce conflit fascinant entre le Nord et le Sud. Le samedi 3 mars à 20 heures, vous pourrez assister à la pièce au théâtre Tinnenpot. Les réalisateurs seront également présents à Sap Mon-dial, la journée consacrée aux débats, le mercredi 21 mars.

EN/ Theatre collective Bleeding Bulls went to Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso, where they recruited young actors from the slums, together with whom they produced the play ‘Sa Majesté des Mouches’. Film maker Joost Wynant shot a documentary on this fascinating clash between North and South. The play itself will be staged at Tinnenpot on Saturday, March 3, at 8 p.m. The producers will also attend Sap Mondial, the debating day that is scheduled on Wednesday, March 21.

Madam Fortuna a cherché à connaître le bonheur que les gens ont à travailler parmi toutes les couches de la société. Du sans-papiers, qui ne peut pas travailler officiellement, au PDG du port, qui renvoie des milliers de travailleurs provenant des quatre coins du monde.

Het wordt een streling voor het oog en wat meer is: aanraken mag! Meedoen zelfs ook: je bent bij deze uitgenodigd om een draadje mee te helpen vlechten, haken of knopen.

FR/ Pendant la durée d’Enter Gent, l’atelier textile socio-artistique gantois Made by Oya crée, en collaboration avec l’artiste néerlandaise Sara Vrugt, un labyrinthe de fils féérique et mystérieux dans De Expeditie, les locaux de Victoria Deluxe. Leur réalisation est un vrai régal pour les yeux et, en plus, vous pouvez la toucher ! Vous pouvez également y participer en aidant à tresser, crocheter ou nouer un fil.

EN/ Made by Oya is a social-artistic textile studio based in Ghent. Beetje bij beetje brengen de bezoekers van Den Teirling kleur in de foyer van Bij’ De Vieze Gasten. Dat gebeurt haast onmerkbaar. Filmmontages van fotosequenties worden geprojecteerd waardoor het creatieproces beetje bij beetje te voorschijn komt. Je ziet de schilderijen tot stand ko-men. Kleur en warmte vult de ruimte.

FR/ Petit à petit, les visiteurs de Den Teirling colorent le foyer de Bij’ De Vieze Gasten. Presque de manière imperceptible. Des séquences photo montées en film et pro-jetées sur un écran permettent de révéler progressivement le processus créatif. Vous voyez les peintures apparaître. La couleur et la chaleur emplissent la pièce.

EN/ Bit by bit, the visitors to Den Teirling are lending colour to the foyer of Bij’ De Vieze Gasten. This is happening nearly unnoticed. ‘Verweven’ kadert binnen een groter ontwikkelingsplan van de Rabot-wijk en wil door middel van kunstintegratie het Karel Rymhofplein in de bloemen te zetten, samen met zijn buurbewoners. Het resultaat is een ‘bespeelbaar kunstwerk’ en een vernieuwd Rymhofplein.Op zaterdag 17 maart van 14:00 tot 17:00 vindt de vernissage van ‘Verwe-ven’ plaats. WiSPER biedt een gratis drankje aan en de kinderen kunnen actief oefenen op het kunstwerk zelf. Ook het Rymhoflied, speciaal ge-maakt voor het kunstwerk, wordt er en masse gezongen én opgenomen. De mensen van WiSPER zijn aanwezig om de nodige uitleg te geven.

FR/ « Verweven » s’inscrit dans le cadre d’un programme de développement plus vaste du quartier du Rabot. Par le biais d’une approche intégrative de l’art, il vise à fleurir la Karel Rymhofplein avec l’aide des habitants du quartier. Le résultat est une « œuvre d’art ludique » et une Rymhofplein rafraichie.

EN/ ‘Verweven’ fits within the framework of a more comprehensive development plan for the Rabot neighboorhood. With the help of the local residents and by means of artistic integration, ‘Verweven’ has plans to shower the Karel Rymhofplein with flow-ers. The result will be a ‘playable work of art’ and a revamped Rymhofplein.

Entrepot Fictief is een kleinschalig kunstencentrum dat in het najaar 2011 is ontstaan uit de voormalige Galerij Jan Colle. Entrepot Fic-tief zoekt naar nieuwe synergieën tussen beeldende kunst en literatuur, experimentele muziek- en theatervormen, zowel op buurtniveau als in Vlaanderen en daarbuiten.Binnen Enter Gent fungeert Entrepot Fictief als platform waar een aantal sociaalartistieke projecten vanuit de beeldende kunst gepresenteerd worden. Kunstenaars Bart Lodewijks, Bob van de Putte & Cato Vanpoperinghe, Bernadette Vandecatsije (Doubleface) en Simon Allemeersch (Atelier Rabot) presenteren binnen het festival, naast andere projecten in de stad, hun werk bij Entrepot Fictief.Naast de vermelde presentaties vindt een gesprek plaats tussen de bovengenoemde kunstenaars op de openingsdag van het tentoonstel-lingsluik van Enter, zaterdag 17 maart om 17:00. EN/ At first glance, Entrepot Fictief seems to deal with goods that are set up in an undefined space of some sort: they’re no one’s possession, and they’ve not yet found their final identity or destination. The goods the fictitious warehouse has on offer are works of arts or arts projects. Entrepot Fictief aims to be a place where ar-tistic ideas, opportunities and inspiration can grow and blossom, at their own pace and in their very own and appropriate way. Thus, the fictitious warehouse becomes an intermediary platform within which the openness that is so needed is present.

Na de Europatoren in Oostende en de modelstad/cité modèle in Brussel komt ‘De torens van Pandora’, een reeks projecten met als thema ‘samen-wonen op een kleine, naar de middeleeuwse Rabottorens in de Rabotwijk.

Bij Entrepot Fictief toont Bernadette Vandecatsije een overzicht van haar voorgaande torenprojecten en het traject dat daarbij werd afgelegd. Op zaterdag 17/03 om 17:00 treedt Bernadette Vandecatsije in gesprek over het project bij Entrepot Fictief.

FR/ Après avoir visité les tours Europa d’Ostende et la cité modèle à Bruxelles, une série de projets axés sur la « vie en société sur une petite superficie », « De torens van pandora » se rend dans le quartier des tours du Rabot. Un vaste tapis de fleurs et de plantes des mêmes dimensions que le bâtiment sera composé avec l’aide des habitants.

EN/ Focusing on a number of projects on ‘living together on a small surface area’, ‘De torens van Pandora’ first visited the Europatoren in Ostend and the modelstad/cité modèle in Brussels, and now it is coming to the residential tow-ers in the Rabot neighbourhood. Een boot van gisteren, van toen de buurt nog een schipperskwartier was en de Tolhuislaan nog onder water stond. Bob van de Putte werkt rond het thema strandjutten en bouwt samen met twee scholen, buurtbewo-ners en vzw Jong een boot met gejut hout uit de buurt. Eénmaal klaar slepen we die samen door de Sleepstraat naar Entrepot Fictief, waar het materiaal van de installatie gedurende Enter aangevuld of weggehaald wordt door bezoekers en buurtbewoners.

Op zaterdag 17/03 om 17:00 treden beide kunstenaars in gesprek over het project bij Entrepot Fictief. De installatie is doorlopend te bekijken bij de Heilige Kerstkerk tot zondag 18/03 om 14:00, daarna bij Entrepot Fictief.

FR/ Un bateau d’hier, de l’époque où le quartier était encore un quartier de marins et où l’avenue Tolhuis était sous l’eau. Bob van de Putte a travaillé sur le thème des batteurs de grève et a construit un bateau à partir de débris de bois trouvés dans le quartier en collaboration avec deux écoles et l’asbl Jong. Les habitants de ce dernier sont invités à aider à le construire. Une fois terminé, nous transporterons le bateau dans la Sleepstraat.

EN/ A boat of yesteryear, when the area was still a shipping neighbourhood and the Tolhuislaan was still under water. Bob van de Putte focuses on beachcomb-ing and is joining forces with two schools and vzw Jong to build a boat with wood found lying about in the neighbourhood. The residents are welcome to help in building the boat. Once it is finished, we will drag it through the Sleepstraat.

De verhalen achter het gotische Brusselse stadshuis vormen het uit-gangspunt voor deze tentoonstelling. Kunstenaars van vzw BON en vzw Globe Aroma geven hun artistieke kijk op wat een stadhuis vandaag voor hen betekent. Ze trekken alle registers open en bevragen diepgaand het samenleven met elkaar. Hoe beleven we burgerschap en stedelijkheid, hier en nu? De kunstwerken getuigen van een gedurfde open blik en schudden je gegarandeerd wakker.

FR/ Les récits qui se cachent derrière l’hôtel de ville gothique de Bruxelles sont à l’ori-gine de cette exposition. Les artistes de l’asbl BON et de l’asbl Aroma expriment leur point de vue artistique sur ce que les hôtels de ville représentent pour eux aujourd’hui. Ils remuent ciel et terre et s’interrogent profondément sur la notion de coexistence. Comment percevons-nous la citoyenneté et l’urbanité, ici et maintenant ? Les œuvres d’art témoignent d’un œil ouvert audacieux et nous arrachent de notre torpeur.

Kunstenaars proberen, via de wijkbewoners, het geheugen van de Ra-bottorens op te bouwen. Zo denken ze samen over de veranderingen in de wijk. Het plan is om samen met de bewoners een verhaal te maken over de woontorens van het Rabot, vooraleer die worden afgebroken. De centrale werkplaats is een heuse volkskeuken. Je kan er elk festivalweek-end komen eten en de gemaakte kunstwerken bewonderen.

Binnen Entrepot Fictief (zie Pg 100) presenteert één van de kunstenaars, Simon Allemeersch, een overzicht van zijn werk dat in de torens ontstaan is. Op zaterdag 17/03 vanaf 17:00 treedt Allemeersch in gesprek over dit project bij Entrepot Fictief.

FR/ Des artistes cherchent à reconstruire la mémoire des tours du Rabot et des habi-tants du quartier en réfléchissant avec eux sur les changements opérés dans le quartier. Chaque weekend pendant le festival, vous pourrez déjeuner dans le restaurant social de l’atelier et y découvrir le travail accompli. L’objectif est de raconter l’histoire des tours du Rabot en collaboration avec leurs habitants avant qu’elles ne soient détruites.

EN/ Artists are trying to reconstruct the memory of the Rabot towers and of the residents of the neighbourhood in order to jointly reflect on the changes that have taken place in the area. You can come and enjoy a meal in the social kitchen during festival weekends. And you can admire the works on display. The plan is to write a story about the Rabot resi-dential towers, in close cooperation with the residents, before the towers are torn down.

Sinds 2000 brengt kunstenaar Bart Lodewijks met wit krijt grote line-aire tekeningen aan in verstedelijkte gebieden. Voor Enter start hij op de speelplaats van twee buurtscholen. De tekeningen zijn associatief en worden door leerlingen verder afgetekend. Het krijt wordt uiteindelijk door de regen uitgewist. Wat overblijft zijn foto’s voor een boek met tek-sten, gericht aan mensen die relevant worden als je ‘zomaar’ op een plek begint te tekenen.

Bij Entrepot Fictief brengt Bart Lodewijks tijdens Enter een installatie op basis van zijn samenwerking met de twee basisscholen uit de buurt. Op zaterdag 17/03 om 17:00 gaat Lodewijks in gesprek over dit project bij Entrepot Fictief.

FR/ Depuis 2000, l’artiste Bart Lodewijks réalise de grands dessins linéaires à la craie dans différentes régions urbanisées. À l’occasion d’Enter, il va investir la cour de deux écoles du quartier. Les dessins sont associatifs et les élèves seront amenés à les achever. La craie finira par être lavée par la pluie. Ce qu’il en reste, ce sont des photos dans un livre accompagné de textes destiné aux personnes qui deviennent concernées une fois que l’on commence, « comme ça », à dessiner quelque part.

EN/ Artist Bart Lodewijks has been making large linear chalk drawings in sev-eral urbanised areas since 2000. On the occasion of Enter, he will take on the playgrounds of two schools. The drawings are associative and are fin-ished by the pupils. Rain will eventually wash away the chalk. What remains will be published in a book and provided with texts, addressing people who, ‘just like that’, become relevant once you start drawing in a certain spot.

Het straattheaterproject ‘Fortuna’ vertelt het succesverhaal van de dyna-mische ondernemer Mark Janssens, bedrijfsleider van de firma ‘Strop & Strik’. De voorstelling zelf is een mix van film, muziek en zang. Zowel de film als de zangpartijen worden met veel spelplezier vertolkt door men-sen uit alle lagen van de bevolking.

FR/ Le projet de théâtre de rue « Fortuna »raconte l’histoire fructueuse de l’entre-preneur dynamique Mark Janssens, directeur général de l’entreprise « Strop & Strik ». La performance en elle-même est un mélange de vidéo, de musique et de chant. Los Murginales is de allereerste murga van België, de oermurga zowaar. Onder het motto ‘Meedoen is belangrijker dan niet meedoen’ trekt deze fanfare sinds 2006 door Antwerpen en omstreken. Los Murginales tonen een totaalspektakel van muziek, dans en circus en laten zien wat er leeft in de interne keuken van de Antwerpse grootstad.De Propere Fanfare van de Vieze Gasten bestaat uit meer dan 100 (!) muzikanten en jongleurs die verbonden zijn met de Brugse Poort van Gent. Meer dan 200 concerten speelde De Propere, sinds ze in mei 2004 voor het eerst de straat op trok. Buurtfeesten, stoeten, evenementen van allerlei slag, festivals klein en groter: deze fanfare doet het allemaal!

FR/ Los Murginales est la toute première murga de Belgique. Avec leur devise «Il est plus important de participer que de ne pas participer», Los Murgi-nales proposent un grand spectacle de musique, de danse et de cirque.

Dichters en performers trekken door Gent met een tot schrijfatelier om-gebouwde Lijnbus. Echte Gentenaars gidsen de bus naar originele, poë-tische plaatsen. Daar vertellen ze bijzondere en vergeten verhalen. Kapi-tein van dienst is Antwerps stadsdichter Peter Holvoet-Hanssen.

FR/ Poètes et artistes parcourent Gand à bord d’un bus De Lijn transformé en ate-lier d’écriture. De véritables Gantois dirigent le bus vers des lieux originaux et poé-tiques où ils racontent des histoires particulières qui avaient été oubliées. Aux com-mandes de ce bus, Peter Holvoet-Hanssen, le poète attitré de la ville d’Anvers.

Lang voor ‘sociaalartistiek’ in Vlaanderen een begrip werd, voerde de Stad Gent al een bewust beleid rond de actieve betrokkenheid van meer Gentenaars bij kunst en cultuur. Niet toevallig kent Gent vandaag zowat de meest verscheiden en levendige sociaalartistieke praktijk van alle Vlaamse steden, met zowel professionele organisaties in de wijken als creatieve projecten van buurtbewoners en kunstenaars.

Het Nederlands-/Engelstalige boek ‘De stad: Eén podium. 20 jaar sociaalartistieke praktijk in Gent.’ brengt een uitvoerig relaas van die 20 jaar Gents beleid. Praktijkmensen en beleidsmakers blikken terug en maken de balans op. De pioniersjaren zijn voorbij, de toekomst stelt ook Gent voor nieuwe uitdagingen. Waarin kan lokaal cultuurbeleid voor de sociaalartistieke praktijk het verschil blijven maken? Een inspirerend boek voor zowel culturele betrokkenen in Gent als beleidsmakers uit andere steden.

Paul De Bruyne (lector aan de Fon-tys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten) en Dominique Willaert (artistiek leider van Victoria Deluxe) ope-nen de debatavond met een kort en krachtig statement over het belang en de waarde van kunst en cultuur in onze samenleving. Myriam Stoffen (artistiek leider Zinneke), Veerle De Schrijver (in-houdelijk stafmedewerker Plat-form-K) en An De bisschop (co-ordinator Dēmos) reageren vanuit de sociaalartistieke sector. Na de pauze laten we diverse beleidsmakers aan het woord. Phara de Aguirre modereert.

Niet alleen in Vlaanderen maar in zowat alle Europese landen wordt er zwaar bezuinigd, ook op de subsidies voor cultuur en kunst. Deze bezuinigingen gaan dikwijls gepaard met retorische tirades die kunst en cultuur voorstellen als

elitair en/of als een geldverslin-dende linkse hobby. Het sociaalar-tistieke werkveld wil met dit debat in de eerste plaats het belang en de waarde van kunst en cultuur voor onze samenleving bekrach-tigen en een volwaardige plaats van het sociaalartistieke binnen het cultuurbeleid verdedigen. Een pleidooi voor cultuur als basisbe-hoefte en een verzet tegen de toe-nemende ‘vermarkting’ van onze samenleving. En uiteraard behoort het tot de democratische traditie om diverse beleidsmakers hier-over aan de tand te voelen.

Enter Gent werpt met deze studie-dag een blik over de landsgrenzen heen. De voorbije jaren ontwik-kelden een aantal organisaties en kunstenaars die actief zijn in het sociaalartistieke werkveld een werkrelatie met partners uit het al dan niet verre buitenland.

We starten de dag met een bespre-king van de dansvoorstelling ‘Ob-scuro’ van de Zweedse inclusieve danscompagnie Spinn die door de Gentse organisatie Platform-K op Enter Gent werd uitgenodigd. Spinn is de eerste professionele in-clusieve danscompagnie in Zweden. Dansers met en zonder fysieke handicap uit Zweden, Spanje en Engeland creëren – onder de ar-tistieke leiding van Veera Suvalo Grimberg – professionele dans-voorstellingen die alle stereotypen over de vraag ‘Wie bezit het recht om op een podium te staan’ omver werpen.

In het tweede luik kijken we sa-men naar de documentaire ‘Kubita’

van Maria Tarantino. In de docu-mentaire volgen we het repetitie-proces die de Brusselse theater- maakster Frédérique Lecomte op-zet in een openluchtgevangenis in Burundi. Gemartelde en getrau-matiseerde mannen en vrouwen werken samen aan een theater-voorstelling die ze voor de mede-gevangenen zullen opvoeren. Een origineel verhaal over de helende kracht van een creatief proces en een ode aan de menselijke weer-baarheid. Na de documentaire gaan Frédérique Lecomte en Maria Tarantino dieper in op de praktijker-varingen van ‘Théâtre et Réconcili-ation’.

Na de lunch duiken we onder in het project ‘Sa Majesté des Mouches’ dat de Antwerpse Bleeding Bulls in Burkina Faso hebben opgezet. Deze theatervoorstelling die begin 2012 in Vlaanderen en Nederland toert is het resultaat van de twee-de samenwerking tussen Bleeding Bulls en de jonge Burkinese ac-teurs van Troupe Yam Wekre. Aan de hand van een ‘Making Off’ (in coproductie met Enter Gent) to-nen en bespreken Joost Wynant, Hendrik Aerts en Maarten Goffin het maak- en presentatieproces van ‘Sa Majesté des Mouches’.

We sluiten de studiedag af met een presentatie door Mia Grijp van Se-ring vzw. De voorbije jaren bouw-de deze sociaalartistieke werk-plaats in Borgerhout een interna-

tionaal digitaal netwerk van soci-aalartistieke theaters in Europa, Noord- en Zuid-Amerika en Afrika uit. Ondertussen sloten ook twee Antwerpse scholen zich bij dit net-werk aan. Een kennismaking met de Wereldwijde Virtuele Theater Carrousel.

Riet Steel, Elly Van Eeghem en Olivier Provost begeleiden een workshop rond de gelaagdheid van een stad. In deze workshop ga je zelf actief aan de slag in de Gentse wijk Muide- Meulestede om beeldmateriaal te verzamelen en te onderzoeken hoe we publieke ruimtes lezen. We ver-zamelen materiaal en inzichten en bekijken wat de impressies uit de wijk kunnen betekenen voor ons eigen werkterrein of leefomgeving.

>Riet Steel is als pedagoog en on-derzoeker verbonden aan de oplei-ding Sociaal Werk. Elly Van Eeghem is als kunstenaar en onderzoeker verbonden aan de School of Arts K.A.S.K. Olivier Provost werkt als sociaalartistiek medewerker bij rocsa vzw.

Creativiteit is een hype en wordt binnen een stedelijke context ge-zien als drijfkracht voor nieuwe praktijken en sterker beleid. In deze betogen wordt creativiteit in de stad echter meestal gelinkt aan middenklasse, ondernemer-schap en bedrijfsinnovatie. Maar welke vormen van creativiteit be-vinden zich aan de schaduwzijde en springen minder in het oog? En wat valt hiermee te doen vanuit sociaal-artistiek oogpunt?

Op vrijdag 23 maart, aansluitend op de workshop, volgt een studie-dag rond creativiteit en stedelijk-heid, ingeleid door antropoloog Karel Arnaut. Daarna gaan enkele parallelle sessies door op basis van een concrete praktijk met on-der meer Brien Coppens van H30, Ernst Maréchal van rocsa, Ann Langelet van Ambrosia’s Tafel en Myriam Stoffen van Zinneke.

Na deze interactieve sessies volgt een slotreflectie onder leiding van Filip De Rynck (Hogeschool Gent) met An De bisschop (Dēmos), Filip Van Wesenbeeck (Dienst steden-

bouw Stad Gent), Katrien Laporte (Kabinet Cultuur Stad Gent; onder voorbehoud), Bas Van Heur (Vrije Universiteit Brussel) en Liesbeth Bultinck (Dienst Stedelijke Vernieu-wing en Gebiedsgerichte werking Stad Gent; onder voorbehoud).

Enter Gent is niet alleen een mo-ment om van de vele en diverse voorstellingen en presentaties te genieten maar ook een ideale kans om de sociaalartistieke praktijk kri-tisch te bevragen. We vroegen aan Wouter Hillaert (recensent en jour-nalist), Saddie Choua (sociologe en cineaste), Jan Vromman (docent Rits en kunstenaar) en Ann Van de Vyvere (artistiek leider Irma Firma en kunstenaar) om het hele festival op de voet te volgen. Tijdens het slotmoment presenteren zij hun be-vindingen. Ze benoemen de sterk-tes van de sociaalartistieke praktijk maar stellen deze mogelijks ook kritisch in vraag door een licht te werpen op het ongedachte of on-gezegde. Daarnaast vroegen we participanten van sociaalartistieke projecten om in de aanloop van En-ter Gent via foto’s hun beleving van de sociaalartistieke praktijk vast te leggen. Deze beelden vormen de aanleiding voor een diepgaand ge-sprek met hen op het festival zelf. Het resultaat van dit proces wordt eveneens gepresenteerd tijdens het slotmoment.

Niet enkel een terugblik op het fes-tival dus, maar ook een uitdagen-

de blik vooruit vanuit verschillende invalshoeken.

Het slotmoment is bedoeld voor alle sociaalartistieke organisaties en hun medewerkers en partici-panten die op Enter Gent stonden maar staat open voor een breed publiek. Het wordt feestelijk afge-sloten met een receptie en de uit-reiking van een Gentse prijs voor sociaalartistiek werk door Lieven Decaluwe, schepen van cultuur, toerisme en feesten.

Festival commentatoren>Ann Van de Vyvere studeerde af aan Sint Lukas als Meester in de Beeldende Kunsten. In 2004 startte zij de vzw Irma Firma en is er actief als artistiek directeur en kunstenaar met Brussel als uit-valsbasis.

>Jan Vromman studeerde filmrea-lisatie aan het HRITCS. Hij bege-leidt een workshop documentaire aan het RITS en het KASK. Hij re-aliseerde verschillende projecten als onafhankelijk videomaker en schreef en regisseerde een aantal toneelstukken. Hij nam deel aan exposities en schreef een boek met kortverhalen. Jan Vromman was ook reeds actief in het soci-aalartistieke werkveld met onder meer een expositie voor Flora vzw en een theatervoorstelling voor De Figuranten.

> Saddie Choua is sociologe van opleiding en woont en werkt in Brussel. Ze richtte mee de inter-netradio Kif-Kif op, voor zij zich volledig ging toeleggen op het maken van films en schrijven. Met haar films plaatst Saddie vaak ver-borgen werelden voor de camera. Op dit ogenblik werkt ze aan ‘De Chouas’, een multiscreen film

waarin ze vanuit de biografie van haar Marokkaanse vader en zijn broers een onderzoek doet naar migratie en vervreemding. >Wouter Hillaert studeerde Ger-maanse, Scandinavistiek en The-aterwetenschappen. Sinds 2002 werkt hij als freelance podiumcri-ticus voor De Morgen, De Stan-daard en Klara en publiceert hij over theater in verschillende natio-nale en internationale tijdschriften, waaronder het Vlaamse cultuur-tijdschrift ‘Rekto:Verso’.

Ambrosia’s Tafel is een vzw die artistieke en so-ciaalartistieke creatie bevordert en ondersteunt in een multiculturele en multimediale samenle-ving. BART LODEWIJKS

De Nederlandse kunstenaar Bart Lodewijks werkt veel met wit schoolbordkrijt en brengt grote lineaire tekeningen aan in verstedelijkte ge-bieden. In de buurten waar de kunstenaar actief is, werkt hij tijdens het project nauw samen met de buurtbewoners. Beeldmateriaal van de krijt-tekeningen, gecombineerd met teksten, worden in publicaties gegoten die gericht zijn aan die buurtbewoners.

COLLECTIF 1984

Theatergroep Collectif 1984 is werkzaam in Brussel en richt theaterateliers in. Eén van die ateliers heet Atelier Mimésis. In dit theateratelier zijn ex-leerlingen van het Onze Lieve Vrouwcollege uit Anderlecht actief. Hun eerste voorstelling, ‘Don Quichotte, chotte, chotte, le retour’, was te zien in de Brusselse Botanique en op ‘Rencontres du Jeune Théâtre Européen’ in 2011 in Grenoble.

Globe Aroma, een sociaalartistieke organisa-tie uit Brussel, brengt groepen en burgers die ogenschijnlijk ver van elkaar leven samen om te participeren aan projecten. In het textielatelier Made by Oya produceren 35 vrouwen van diverse achtergronden en culturen een al even divers gamma aan textielcreaties. Voor de ontwerpen wordt vertrokken vanuit de aloude textieltradities die deze textielbewerkers van moeder op dochter overgeërfd hebben. On-der leiding van textielkunstenaars en dankzij het

MISTER WOLF

Mister Wolf is een sociaalartistiek gezelschap dat ontstond uit de sociaalartistieke praktijk van Jan Geers en Dominique Van Malder. Samen draai-den ze twee sociaalartistieke films in de schoot van het Nieuwpoorttheater (daarna Campo): Flatscreen (2006) en Hondstucht (2008). Mister Wolf ontwikkelt projecten die enerzijds de op-gebouwde sociaalartistieke expertise van beide makers en anderzijds een typische cinematogra-fische stijl van aanpak met elkaar verknopen tot één geheel.

MURGA

Het idee van Murgafanfares waaide in 2006 over van Argentinië, waar ze een echte traditie zijn.

Murga bevordert de sociale cohesie en de cul-turele participatie via een laagdrempelig partici-patievorm: muzikale straatkunst. Het detecteren en ontwikkelen van artistieke competenties staat voorop bij Murga.

De organisatie ondersteunt verschillende groe-pen in diverse steden, organiseert verschillende activiteiten en zorgt voor dialoog tussen de ver-schillende Murga’s. Los Murginales was de aller-eerste Murgafanfare in België.

ROCSA

rocsa is vooral actief in de Gentse buurt Rabot-Blaisantvest. Op De Site, een groot braak liggend terrein van 10 000 m² in het drukst bevolkte gebied van Gent, creëerde rocsa een creatieve ontmoe-tingsplaats voor en door de buurt. Later breidde de werking ook uit naar de buurt Muide-Meulenstede onder de noemer Assurance Ambiance.

SERDI ALICI

“Mijn twee grote passies […]: beatboxen en ac-teren.” Dat zegt al veel over de Gentse beatboxer Serdi Alici. Hij speelde o.a. in de productie ‘De Bezette Stad’ (NTGent), waarin hij samen met andere beatboxers de gelijknamige dichtbundel van Paul van Ostaijen herinterpreteerde door middel van beatboxing en rap. Tijdens Enter Gent plant hij, samen met enkele trouwe kompa-nen, ludieke interventies en een avondvullende voorstelling.

SERING

Het Antwerpse Sering stond mee aan de wieg van de sociaalartistieke projecten in Vlaanderen. Na 20 jaar in het professionele theater besloot Mia Grijp in 1995 om haar expertise in te zet-ten voor kwetsbare groepen. Sindsdien brengt Sering mensen samen van alle leeftijden en met verschillende sociale en culturele achtergronden. Samen werken ze aan unieke theaterprojecten, met steun van professionele artiesten.

Sering wordt structureel ondersteund door de Vlaamse Gemeenschap binnen het Kunstende-creet.

THEATER ANTIGONE

U kent Theater Antigone ongetwijfeld als het professionele theaterproductiehuis uit Kortrijk. Hun hoofddoelstelling is de creatie en vertoning van theatervoorstellingen. Theater Antigone realiseert echter niet enkel artistieke maar ook

sociale ambities. Antigone zette 13 jaar geleden binnen hun reguliere theaterwerking een sociaal-artistieke werking op. Zo hanteren ze theater en cultuur als hefboom om het sociale weefsel en de sociale cohesie te verstevigen binnen de wijk of stad.

De Unie der Zorgelozen is een Kortrijkse sociaal-artistieke werking die herkenbaar, volks theater maakt.
