What’s happening at Marfell? Week 5 Term 1 2021 MANA Leaders Enrichment - Ready Steady Cook Life Education Over the past couple of weeks we have been privileged to have Megan Lillie and the Life Education truck on site. Children have been able to experience learning around topics such as healthy eating or friendships. Harold is a popular part of the life education experience and Room 8 did some gorgeous art about Harold the giraffe. He was so impressed that the art will be displayed on the National Life Education page! Korero and Kai We had a wonderful time at Korero and Kai last thursday. It was really nice to connect with whanau and have the time to sit and chat! The children all had a great time in the pool. We carried out a survey during this time around Digital Technology and were able to gather 25 families voices. The results showed that whanau surveyed see digital technology as a part of education and a necessary skill for the workplace. Surf For Life Sport Taranaki have sponsored 10 Marfell tamariki for Surf for Life. This programme runs for four weeks at Fitzroy Beach. The focus is on trying new experiences, building confidence, self esteem and resilience. The children involved have really enjoyed participating in the programme. Mondays and Thursdays: 3-5pm Whare Kai (Hall) Thursday 11 and 18 March: Surf for Life 26th March School Photos. Please return forms. Payment can be made by eftpos at the office. Kia ora, Talofa lava, Kia orana, Fakalofa lahi atu, Mabuhay, Saludos para ti, Bula vinaka. Half of Term 1 has whizzed by! Unfortunately, this week finds us back in level 2 which is unfortunate. Our thoughts go to all of Auckland in level three lockdown once more. Above: Room 3 participating in the Let’s Go scooter skills programme. They have learnt scooter control and road safety skills. Next week the two senior classes will be learning cycle skills.
