Enrichment programs

• Art• Kindergarten- 30 minutes 1 time a week• 1st-5th – 40 minutes 1 time a week

• Technology• 3D animation• Mind Craft 3rd-5th grade students • Game Design• Google Drive/ docs 2nd- 5th grade students• K-1 students basic computer skills through educational

activities

• Music• K- 30 minutes 1 time a week• 1st-2nd- 40 minutes 1 time a week• 3rd- 5th- 40 minutes 2 times a week

How Enrichment came to be at Soquel• Music is dual funded by Home and

School Club and site based funds

• Art is funded by site based funds- supplies supported by Home and School Club

• Technology- dual funded by District and Site-• Training provide to lab teacher over

summer to focus on 3D animation, game design, mindcraft, 3D printing.

Google Drive

• All students 2nd -5th grade will have access and use google drive.

• Students will be required to save all computer lab projects on google drive.

• Will be managed by lab teacher and principal.

What students will be doing in the Lab• Every student will have a structured

lab session weekly. • Kindergarten- will focus on basic

computer skills

• Kid Pix

1st grade

• They will continue to focus on basic computer skills, but also look at the history of computers. Get input on what how they use computers and start exploring more programs

2nd grade

• Create fork in blender

• Work on computer skill basics

• Create a simple robot

3rd grade

• History of Computers

• Create ancient Greek pottery in animation program

• Create a solar system using animation

• Create a simple robot, minecraft guy and start to work on animation.

4th grade• History of Animation and how it is used

in movies

• Roller coaster marble animation

• Create a Fork using blender

• Create the minecraft guy and animate it

• Create and texture a wooden box or barrel

5th grade • History of Animation and how it is

used in movies

• Create a minion and animate it

• Create a castle in blender program after doing research with teacher’s support

• Complete research on the history of airplanes and do an animate an airplane in blender

After School Programs

• In partnership with Home and School program Soquel Elementary will offer the following after school programs

• All programs will have a cost, but only to cover the cost of the overall program

• Classes will begin the week of October 6th and run through December.

• Ukulele lessons- 4th- 5th grade

• Mind Craft- 3rd- 5th grade

• Homework club- 1st- 5th grade
