DATO’ JOHAN ARIFFINMitraland Chairman

Mitraland started the year with a win-16 Quartz @ Melawati was the recipient of the Landscape Development Award (Merit Category) that was organized the Institute of Landscape Architects Malaysia (ILAM).

Another feather in the cap for the Mitraland team!

The team is currently pressing forward with both the Gravit8 and Esque projects. Gravit8’s Nordica and Adria apartment towers are showing very positive take up rates. Besides residential units, Pier 8’s bespoke retail units are open for sale- its limited quantity and visible frontage making it a fantastic investment proposition.

On the other hand, Esque is marching onwards with its construction works and we are on track to deliver by end of 2018. Residential units in Esque boast stunning vistas with enhanced aesthetics by Fender

Katsalidis Architects and Kate Roach Architecture & Design.

Despite market conditions and currency volatility, developers are moving forward, adapting to what is considered as the ‘new normal’ – many are switching up their product mix and adjusting products to meet market demand. At Mitraland, we have not deviated from our core values and beliefs; we stand committed to delivering quality works that stand the test of time while simultaneously engaging and enhancing the surrounding community.

Our ethos at Mitraland is simple: we continue evolving and expanding our ideas. By doing so, our purchasers and business partners can rely on our dedication and commitment to always deliver to the best of our ability.

BESPOKE RETAIL DESTINATION

THE HIGHLIGHTS

@ PIER 8

7ENRICHING TIMES ISSUE 17

Only 8 exclusive retail galleries remain available for sale at Pier 8! This one-of-a-kind opportunity is within reach and aimed towards forward thinking investors who are looking to expand their property portfolio.

Pier 8’s design blueprint embodies dynamic spaces that range from leisure and entertainment to dining – all unique in their own right, but once combined, displays an affinity to the prevalent maritime theme.

Pier 8 will be a perfect lifestyle retail platform for the under-served Klang market, which has a total of approximately 90,000 households and a population catchment of 375,000 people. With built-up areas of 2,454 sf to 4,381 sf, these units are sure to have high visibility with road frontage. This will exponentially increase foot traffic to that area.

Another valuable detail is that once the entire Gravit8 development comes

together, the catchment numbers could reach as high as 10,000 residents within this area itself.

So don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to be one of the first to invest in Pier 8 shops and capture the urban market of Klang South– it’s bound to be crowd puller!

16 QUARTZ SCOOPS UP

ANOTHER PRESTIGIOUS

AWARD

THE HIGHLIGHTS

This is a tremendous honour bestowed upon

us. 16 Quartz embodies luxurious living, with

the longest quartz ridge and a rainforest reserve

right behind us. We draw inspiration from these

landmarks, thus creating a landscape design that

truly represents the wonders of nature

Mr. Teo Ching WeeExecutive Director of Mitraland Group.

The Institute of Landscape Architects Malaysia (ILAM) organized the celebrated “Malaysia Landscape Architecture Industry Awards” on 22nd April at the Majestic Hotel KL.

16 Quartz, Melawati was entered in the Landscape Development Award category and was bestowed with the Merit Award, amidst strong contenders from Malaysia as well as within the neighbouring region.

The awards are also to highlight the continuously growing landscape architecture profession in Malaysia and to steer the country towards more sustainable methods.

16 Quartz was one of the chosen few mainly due to the development’s strong sense of integration between nature and development design. With 30% of green areas in the entire development and linear gardens which constitute Spring Garden, Pebble Creek, Willow Creek and Summer Garden; home owners can relish in this carefully curated landscape haven.

THE HIGHLIGHTS

ESQUE GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on 9th March 2017 at 649, Chapel Street, South Yarra. It symbolized the official start of construction works for Esque. This private event was attended by Mr Chuah (Group CEO, Mitraland), Mr Jim Tzouvelis (Managing Director, Valeo Constructions), renowned architect, Mr Fender Katsalidis (Founding Director, Fender Katsalidis Architects) and invited guests.

Esque consists of 64 apartment units which give an overall sense of exclusivity in a fashionable suburb that enjoys easy connectivity to the city centre.

With its sought-after address on Chapel Street, considered to be the most fashionable and urbane locale, Esque stands out as a smart investment option. The development is also on track to be completed by the end of 2018.

Melbourne has won the “World’s Most Liveable City” award for 6 consecutive years and it is not difficult to contemplate the reasons why. The city offers world-class exhibitions and shows, sporting events, cultural and family festivals and has a flourishing retail and culinary scene. It is therefore no wonder that there are increasing numbers of Malaysians migrating to Australia yearly.

In 2016, Australia recorded 182,000 oversea migrations, and Melbourne remained one of the most popular destinations among migrants.

Should you have queries on Esque, please do not hesitate to contact Ms Ivy Tan at 03 – 7661 8688.

‘CHAPGOH MEH’ MITRALAND

ACTIVITIES

Chap Goh Meh is a day that is celebrated with much joy and festivity. Known as the 15th night of the Chinese New Year, it marks the end of the CNY celebration. This day is also recognized by many as the Chinese version of Valentine’s Day.

To commemorate this special day, a 2-day Chap Goh Meh event was held at the Gravit8 Sales Gallery on 18th and 19th February 2017.

Visitors were greeted by an exciting Lion Dance troupe that performed gravity defying stunts to everyone’s delight. The excitement was palpable as the familiar lion dance music filled the air with beating drums, clashing cymbals and echoing gongs.

Up next was a Feng Shui talk by Master Wong, who waxed lyrical about what’s in store for the 12 Chinese Zodiac signs this year. While adults listened intently to the talk, the children picked up a new skill – Chinese rainbow calligraphy. A booth was set up to demonstrate the art of Chinese calligraphy using a special bamboo brush.

The next day, the God of Prosperity paid a visit and handed out red packets to everyone present. The Chinese Sichuan Opera troupe was also on hand to showcase their Bian Lian (Face Changing) and Chinese Yo-yo performances.

Besides that, a charity organization by the name of Good Samaritan Home Klang was invited to the Chap Goh Meh celebration. Good Samaritan Home Klang houses a total of 33 children, ranging from ages 3 to 23 and is run by Mr Albert and his wife.

They were provided with goodie bags filled with stationaries and edible treats; and also treated to a scrumptious meal, all the while enjoying the many performances at Gravit8.

It has been a real delight for us to be here today, thank you for taking such good care

of the children and inviting us to your event.Mr. Albert

The event began early Sunday morning on 26th March 2017 at Ibis Styles Hotel, Cheras South. Guests were greeted by a fine breakfast spread at the hotel’s café before making their way into the meeting rooms for the talk to begin.

3 highly respected guest speakers were on hand to impart advice and reveal valuable tips on property investments and much more.

Mr Chris Chur, Founder and Managing Partner of Chur Associates was the first speaker of the day. His topic was “5 Must Know Legal Trends for Sustainable Property Investment in Malaysia”. Mr Tang Chee Meng, COO of Henry Butcher Malaysia followed next, with his talk entitled: “Smart Investment during Property Market Slowdown” - another crowd pleaser.

The final speaker was Mr Vince Tan, the co-founder and CEO of Shock Media Studio. He touched on “How to Use the Power of Social Media for Properties & More!’. Seeing that today’s marketing arena has shifted over the years and traditional

All speakers were very generous with their time and answered questions posed by the attendees. Once all questions were answered, the group headed towards the hotel café for a buffet lunch, courtesy of Mitraland.

Thanks for organising the talk. The talk was engaging and we learnt a lot from it

TEAMBUILDINGMITRALANDACTIVITIES

On the first weekend of May, 53 Mitraland employees boarded the bus and made their way to Ancasa Resort, Port Dickson. It was a 2D/1N teambuilding session headed by Bridge ICD, who has been servicing organizations for the past 20 years.

It was a weekend filled with outdoor and indoor activities that had a common thread running through each segment - to strengthen camaraderie between colleagues and promote team unity and strength.

The sessions also highlighted the need to think outside the box in order to complete a task. This forces creativity, fosters a conducive environment for problem solving and brainstorming ideas.

NEWS IN BRIEF

Once again, the Gravit8 Sales Gallery was filled with eager children during the event organized in conjunction with the end of school holidays. They enjoyed a whole host of fun activities that ranged from outdoor bumper boats to a giant soccer dart. Parents also got in on the action as they participated in a special arts and craft workshop with their children.

Another family-themed event was organized at the Gravit8 Sales Gallery - an Easter celebration! To children, Easter is all about bunny rabbits and chocolate – lots of it – and they were not disappointed! There was a petting corner set up for children to play and pet bunnies. Other activities included an Easter egg-hunt, a bubble zone and a handmade Easter egg piñata that was filled with chocolates and candy.

My family look forward to events at Gravit8, we are always impressed by how well organized everything is and my children get to participate in so many fun activities. Not many developers will do this for their purchasers.Mr Peter Ang Adria Purchaser
