    ENTREPRENEURIAL AND SMALL BUSINESS

    LEAN SIX SIGMA GREEN BELT CERTIFICATION

    Through six training sessions, over an eight-week period, teams participate in a business building process toward formulating a well-researched business plan to create new, unrestricted revenue streams for their nonprofits. Each team walks away with a clear understanding of how to establish and maintain income-generating ventures and how to apply relevant business practices to their organization. Organizations will form teams of four to six participants, usually a subcommittee accountable to the board of directors, and receive complementary workbooks at least two weeks prior to the first class. Training sessions will last approximately four hours and each team member will be expected to perform one to two hours of fieldwork per week.

    Topics include: Underused assets in the organization and relative opportunities Creating business hypotheses Testing those hypotheses through market research Market segmentation and targeting Competitive landscape analysis and competitive advantage Business operations Costing, feasibility, financing, and accounting Sales, promotion, and distribution The business plan and beyond

    Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification: This certification training program will give you the tools to improve your organizations processes from within, with advanced training for sustainability of a Lean Six Sigma culture of process excellence and continuous improvement. This program is for those who want to be at the top of their game and drive real business value. The courses are taught through a blended online learning portal, which includes weekly instructor-led virtual live classes, self-paced online modules, and student guides.

    Social Enterprise & Social EntrepreneurshipPatrick Hibbard earned his BBA from the Anderson School of Management, concentrating in Entrepreneurial Studies, as well as his MBA in both Policy & Planning and International Management. He has worked with several small businesses, startups, and nonprofit organizations, training under Dr. Manuel Montoya and Jean Block. Through an internship with Social Enterprise Ventures and Columbia University, Patrick also earned a certificate in Social Entrepreneurship.

    His specialties include business strategy development, social and environmental impact analyses, organizational structure creation and development, board development, fundraising strategies, communications strategy, and social enterprise solutions for nonprofits.

    As a recent transplant to Gainesville from Albuquerque, NM, Patrick is continuing his management consulting practice and expanding Social Enterprise Ventures nonprofit training curriculum, while learning about the Chomp in the Swamp.

    Mike Sibley, CPA | Partner - James Moore, CPAsA certified public accountant in the state of Florida, Mike has more than 15 years of professional accounting and consulting experience. A partner with James Moore and Company, he currently oversees the firms Accounting and Auditing department. With a black belt certification in Lean Six Sigma, Mike is leading the firm in providing Lean Six Sigma services for clients representing the government, university, construction, manufacturing, and professional services industries. He has had the opportunity to address Lean Six Sigma for community groups and has also drafted articles for regional and national publications. Mike is a member of the AICPA and the FICPA. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Saint Josephs College in Maine where he majored in accounting and minored in computer science. Mike received a black belt certification in Lean Six Sigma through the Quality Group, and a green belt certification through The Ohio State University.
