Aims: To make students recognize their nationalities, and say where they live and are from.
WARM-UPProvide information about your
week routines and what you have recently done.

Where have you traveled to?
Where are you from?
Mention the name of some countries.
What are their names?
PRESENTATIONIn conversation, when exchanging and providing information, we always ask other where they are from, it is part of our routine and conversations.
GRAMMAR .Where are you from?, Where were you born?, Where were you raised? Where do you live? Where are you living?, What’s your current location? , are used to ask for information about where a person lives and was born.
I am from , I was born, I was raised, I live, I currently live, I am currently living, are used to say in which country we live and grew up.
What’s the weather like?, how is the weather there?, how is the weather in?, are used to ask about the weather or climate.
CONVERSATION STRATEGIES.
In conversation, expressions like: huh?, oh, wow, really?, are you serious?, wow, for real?, oh my gosh, Oh my God, my lord, oh my lord, seriously?, are used to express that you are surprised, shocked, happy, mad or angry.By the way: this is used to introduce a new idea or question.Expressions like: Yeah, uh-huh, Ok, all right, sure, fine, etc.,
are used to express agreement and say yes.
Me too, so am I, so was I , so have I, are used to say that you do the same, have or are under the same person’s condition.
Sam: Hey dude, where are you from?Tom: I am from Sydney- Australia.Sam: Wow, me too, but I was raised in Toronto- Canada.Tom: how is the weather there?Sam: it’s hot during/in the summer, cold in/during the winter, rainy in/during the spring, and windy during/in the fall/autumn. Tom: that’s interesting.Sam: by the way, you haven’t got an Australian accent.Tom: Oh, I didn’t tell you that I grew up in Barranquilla, that’s why I got a Latin accent. Sam: All right, what’s the weather like in Barranquilla?Tom: it is too hot!

Hobbies and occupations are part of our lives, in conversation people always talk about their hobbies and occupations. Ocuppations are what people do to survive, and hobbies are activities that people do in their free time.
GRAMMAR
Well: it is used in conversation before providing an idea, it is a way to show that you’re thinking about what you are going to say.
Anyway: it is used to change the topic of the conversation.
I love, I like, I enjoy, are used when talking about hobbies.
CONVERSATION Sam: Hi thereLiz : Sam!!!, it’s been a while, long time not seeing you.Sam: Yes, what are you doing for a living?Liz: I’m a Model and Engineer now, what about you?Sam: Well, I’m a Chef and a Taxi Driver.Liz: that’s interesting.Sam: Tell me about your sister, what does she do in her life?Liz: She killed someone so she is a prisoner.
