• Even the word Islam, س ل م brings the meaning of Peace.
• In Islam, it is important to respect and to know another culture.
• Eg: In ‘The Guide’- The Indian Classical dance- related to worshipping their gods
and goddesses.• Even though we are Muslims, we have
different cultures.
Even the word Islam, س ل م brings the meaning of Peace.
In the Quran’ Allah states that : "...If God had willed, He would have made you all
in one nation and one religion), but that He (God) left you in different religions to compete in good
deeds and society benefits. The return of all of you is to God; then He (God) will inform you about that
in which you differ"(Qur’an, Surah al-Ma’idah, Verse 48)
* Have due respect to every single Culture because from it we can show the world that
Islam is a religion for all.
Self-diSCOverySelf-diSCOvery
The spiritual discovery of the self is important
Self-discovery is vital in a human being’s life because it enables them to self-evaluate themselves.
The material world has it’s weaknesses and the material world is human based.

Islam asks it’s followers to always reflect on their daily lives, Self Muhasabah.
By discovering one’s self, we will be able to improve our soul and life.
the Prophet (may Allah bless him and give him peace) said:
“He who knows himself, knows his Lord” By discovering our true self, we will be
able to find the peace and tranquility in our hearts.
“We will show them Our Signs in the universe and in their own selves”
(Surah al-Balad , Verse53)This Quranic verse clearly points out that by looking into themselves, human beings will be able to understand in depth about
Islam and bring themselves closer to Allah.
The TreaTmenT Of The TreaTmenT Of WOmenWOmen
“Women are the real architects of society.”-Harriet Beecher Stowe-
Women plays important roles in our lives
For example, a woman as a mother has always been:- the one who shapes their children- the one who always be there, whenever we need them- the one who always wants us to be success
However, their position in this world has always been debated
Women fight for their rights and seldom do they achieve what they fight for
The present world is slowly changing
Women’s rights are given equal consideration and they are treated with higher respect
But there are some countries which still do not recognize women’s right as a human being
In Che Husna Azhari’s short story Mariah, we can see how the men think of women as being very submissive and they have to obey their husbands whether they like it or not
This issue comes under the idea of Polygamy
The Imam disregard his wife feelings and still wants to get married to Mariah

WOmenWOmen Women are highly regarded in Islam
Women’s status is uplifted during Prophet Muhammad’s time and it is only during His time only that women are taken care of
Women has always been treasured in Islam as there is a special chapter on Women ‘Surah An-Nisa’.
Islam permits Polygamy BUT under a certain condition and the men are allowed to
practice Polygamy IF they are and will be able to be just and fair to their wives.
Surah an-Nisa', Verse 3: "If you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly with the
orphan, marry women of your choice, two or three or four; but, if you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or (a captive) that your right hands possess, that will be more suitable, to prevent you from
doing injustice"
