Early schooling in Chikkaballapur

1881 : B.A Examination from central college of Bangalore

1883 : Civil Engineering from college of engineering,Pune(University of Pune)

He ranked first in the L.C.E and the F.C.E Examinations(equivalent to B.E examination of today)

Some of the job positions he held were:

Assisant Engineer, Bombay Government Service(1884)

Chief Engineer in Mysore state (Nov 15,1909 )

Chairman, Bhadravati Iron Works

Member of back bay enquiry committee,London.

ACHIEVEMENTS

The Block System: Was invented by him, which was asystem of automated doors that closed in the conditions ofoverflow.

Many dams built by him in Bombay are still functionaleven till today.

He was the chief engineer during the construction of

Krishna sager dam on the Kavery River.

Krishnarajasagara Dam: Is still praised by everybodywitnessing it.

Mysore University: which is a matter of greatproud for the people of Mysore, was establishedbecause of his will and conviction.

Sri Jayachamaraja Polytechnic Institute ofBangalore: The institute was built on therecommendation of sir MV.

MAN WITH VALUES

Punctuality : he was very famous for his

punctuality, He was never late even by a minuteand expected his people also to realize theimportance of time.

Perfect Clothing : Every person having met sirVM, proudly remembers his neat and fineclothing.

Perfectionist : There are many examples to showthat even a little task that he took up, alwayscompleted to perfection. Even if it was to deliver aspeech, he would think in advance, write andrehearse no. of times.

Courageous: many of the projects completed byhim that India stands proud of today, would nothave existed if it was not his will and conviction.

Fitness: Even at the age of 92, he was neverdependent on comforts; he would not only

walk by himself, but, take full participationin all proceedings
