PRESENTER FEEDBACK

2. Discuss the significant changes to Administration Chapter of the 2012 NC State Fire Code.a. Slide 5: The fire code is applicable to streets and fire

flow requirements in one and two family subdivisions that were established after Jan. 1. 2002. Unless alternate methods and materials are provided for, minimum street widths are 20 feet. Appendices B, C, and D if adopted locally provide additional regulations.

b. Slide 12: For years Class IIIB liquids were not regulated by the fire code. The influx of bio diesel technology has necessitated that Class IIIB liquids be regulated.

c. Slide 30: While the fire code has specific requirements for inspections, the inspection requirements found in Section 107 of the Administrative Code and Policies are also applicable.

d. Slide 34: There are specific general statutes and electrical code requirements that address the disconnection of electric utilities. The electrical inspector should be consulted with and included in the process to disconnect electric utilities.
