According to industry experts speaking at the Energy Now Expo, the future is bright for a maturing sector, and 2016 is predicted to be a breakthrough year for energy storage technologies. Storage is such a hot topic at the moment, that there was a dedicated session for it at the Energy Now Expo. Stephen Jones from the Energy Storage Network commented that although there is some policy uncertainty, the technology exists, and energy storage holds great potential across all renewable energy types.

RICS Commercial Management in Infrastructure Conference
@CalcoServices#ConstructionRec
calco.co.ukConstruction, property and engineering recruitment
Commercial managers are crucial to proving business cases and ensuring investment returns for any construction projects, but these skills are perhaps even more crucial when applied to the infrastructure sector. They give confidence to clients, investors, and the public, and ensure the commercial structures exist for effective delivery, while managing costs, and delivering promised value.
Our Commercial Management in Infrastructure Conference examined the huge value that commercial managers bring to large-scale infrastructure projects. Key speakers and leading experts in infrastructure addressed core elements of the commercial manager’s role, including risk mitigation, collaborative working, supply chain management, cost planning, dispute avoidance, and the use of BIM software.

Digital Rail Summit
@CalcoServices#ConstructionRec
calco.co.ukConstruction, property and engineering recruitment
Although our railway carries twice as many passengers as it did just two decades ago, demand is still set to rise dramatically in the years ahead. One of the major initiatives to address the inevitable capacity constraints is to digitalise the railway. This will enable more trains to run on existing tracks - safer, faster and more economically - complementing the additional capacity increases from new railways such as Crossrail and HS2.
The Digital Rail Summit will address these questions and examine the whole topic of the future digital railway. Experts in their fields will explain what is being planned, when it will be implemented and how it will affect everyone involved in the railway today, from train operators and infrastructure owners to passengers and contractors. If you want to know what the future will look like, you need to be there.
