Hope - Creative bottle

Design for secondary usage(Entry for Heroes Too Cause Bottle Challenge)

Page 4: Engineer - Designer - Sachin P

Hope is a steel bottle with a slideable whiteboard sheet or a slate sheet.

These surfaces can be used as for random notes and doodling thus giving your ideas a platform to show themselves.

The bottle supports the cause of education and awareness.

Simplicity, cost-effective and sustainability are the core values behind the bottles design.

Is there a solution to these problems? Can there be a product which is simple to use and cost - effective? Can the product solve questions of sustainability and enhance its own product life cycle and be easily recyclable?

Though modern smart phones and tabs act as a tool for expressing creativity, jotting down notes, doodling, it is not accessible to every one. Some prefer traditional way of writing it down.

Normal water bottles serve only one purpose - holding water, secondary usages of the bottle has not been widely explored.

A water bottle is an essential need for users belonging to different age categories.

Detachable Guide Rod withpressure sensor on tip

Winged Nut for attachment

Push button for bettercontrol over the unit

LED indicator + vibration for modalityto inform surgeon

Wire to supply power and air to thepneumatic cylinder

Observation showed that the surgeon had to take caution when inserting the guide wire through the marrow

He had to watch the image of the femur, taken by the C-arm X-ray projected on the opposite wall

Hence time was wasted in checking and double checking the hammering

A way to improve co-ordination between the surgeon's vision and hands in order to reduce surgical errors

Final Design - Solidworks + Keyshot 4Problem identification

Need Statement

The solution must improve the compatibility between the surgeon’s hand and eye and also avoid the stress and irregular hand positions.

Ergonomical and thicker handle for protection against vibration and proper handling

Pneumatically powered cylin-der which is covered by a hard plastic body and connected to solenoid for control

Surgeon can watch progress of rod on screen and control the movement with precision

Winged Nut for easy detach-ment of rod from machine

DigisenseElectronic Health Monitoring Device

Page 9: Engineer - Designer - Sachin P

In today’s world, most of the population is equipped with a smart phone. The aim of this project was to design a health monitoring device that is compatible with a basic smart phone.

The device uses phones display as the output device and can use the phone’s connectivity to gain additional information or send it to medical practitioners so that they can diagnose.

The device has been designed to be compact, keeping in mind the constraints of its electronic components and its manufacturability.

Anthropometric data and hand postures were considered in designing the form of the device.

Music Console Interface for CarsAnalysis and redesign of existing

console interfaces based on cultural andregional constraints and compatibility

Page 11: Engineer - Designer - Sachin P

Products designed for a set of users in one part of Earth may not be suitable for users situated some where else. The music consoles that co-exist in market were audited and redesigned for the users of India and Germany based on personas created and Hofstede’s cultural dimensions.

1. Identification of target culture groups.2. Persona creation and study.3. Study of Hofstede’s cultural dimensions.4. Creation of concepts for the two countries.

A solution was needed which would help users understand- their routines,- what the equipment do,- which muscle group to target,- what diet plan to follow and- help them track their progress and keep their targets in sight.

In a country like India, there exist gyms where there are no assistance of a personal trainer or any infographics to prevent wrongful routines.

Front Back

Based on a short survey and task analysis, the following observations were noted:

1. Brand plays an important role, foreign brands are preferred over the local ones as they are better trustful.

2. People expect the MRP, Expiry date, Manufacturing date, Batch no. to be printed in the lower part of the packaging at the back.

3. Flavours do matter to most people and thus search for specific information regarding the same.

4. WHO mark is an important element as it is trusted by most. Rural people have a knowledge of it through the Government medical programmes organized and through advertisements.

5. Instructions are seldom read, dosage and methods of preparation are simple to understand for most.

6. Contents of the packet - concentration and composition are rarely viewed through, as people may not understand the chemical names printed.

7. People cut the sachet at random locations and hence may cause loss of certain information like the Expiry date or Batch no.

A solution based on the above is proposed
