FOUNDATION YEARS(1-3)

Da Vinci ProgrammeThe cornerstone of a successful academic programme is ensuring that learning remains fun and gratifying. The NUS High Research, Innovation and Enterprise Programme – the Da Vinci Programme – exemplifies this. It aims to nurture creative minds and develop skilled hands backed with deep knowledge. In their lower years, students are trained to polish their presentation, technical and creative thinking skills. As the junior high students progress, they will be exposed to formal scientific literature and current research topics.

Einstein+ Programme NUS High’s Talent Development Programme, Einstein+, stretches students with exceptional talent to help them realise their fullest potential. Selected students are offered the opportunity to read undergraduate modules at the National University of Singapore. In the Overseas Student Academic Programme, shortlisted Year 4 and Year 6 students undergo two weeks of overseas STEM-related academic programmes in countries such as Germany, Switzerland, China, Australia, etc.

Under the Distinguished Visitors’ Programme, the school hosts eminent scientists and mathematicians annually, giving our students the rare opportunity to be inspired by the deep expertise of these academic giants in their areas of research, and learn from their life experiences through dialogues and fire-side chats. Galileo ProgrammeThe sky‘s the limit for students selected to undertake the Galileo Programme. The Programme, introduces students to the complexities involved in engineering a

space satellite system with flight control, power management, signal processing and communications capabilities. It gives students the first exposure on the issues that are typically faced by engineers when they design and build a system which can be deployed into space. Issues such as flight dynamics, environmental disturbances, command and control will be explored by the students as well.

Socrates Programme No matter where their interests lie, NUS High students are encouraged to pursue them. The Socrates Programme champions their passions in the Humanities and the English Language and Literature. Students who excel in these disciplines are invited to sign up for the activities organised by the Gifted Education Branch of MOE, such as the Creative Writing Programme, Moot Parliament Programme and the Humanities & Social Science Research Programme. Within the school, students can also join the Humanities Interest Group, the English Interest Group and the Current Affairs Interest Group.

CHALLENGING YOUNG MINDS

ENRICHING EXPERIENCESInternationalisation ProgrammeThe Internationalisation Programme embraces the world as its classroom as our students learn from their overseas experiences. The Student Exchange Programme allows our students to learn with the best while the Overseas Student Academic Programme provides students with invaluable opportunities to learn from the best. Our students also benefit from participating in various academic learning field trips, service learning programmes and overseas conferences, fairs or competitions.

All students are required to join at least 1 CCA from the 4 main CCA groups.

Student Leadership DevelopmentIn line with our mission to nurture Pioneers, Humanitarians and Innovators, NUS High School aims to groom our students to be trailblazers in their eventual field of work and take up the mantle of leadership. During their years with us, numerous opportunities are provided for students to take up leadership positions in student bodies and school events. Our students are groomed, among other positions, to become Student Council Leaders, Boarding Leaders, CCA Leaders, Mentor Representatives, Special Interest Group Leaders and/or House Leaders.
