    COURSE DESCRIPTION

    This course primarily helps students acquire the necessary skills in oral communication and public speaking. It focuses on the basic principles of voice and diction and theapplication of skills making the learners effective in the transfer of ideas. It also helps the student develop their critical and analytical abilities important in oral and writtenexpression.

    PRE-REQUISITE English Comm 1 and English Comm 2

    GENERAL OBJECTIVES

    At the end of the course, students shall be able to:

    COGNITIVE: a) Explore elements of communication and their role in effective communication;b) Understand the basic principles of oral communication and theory;c) Develop the use of verbal and non-verbal communication;

    d) Demonstrate the elements of effective speech delivery.

    AFFECTIVE: a) Develop and build a stronger sense of self-confidence and self-reliance in speaking situations;b) Engage, collaborate, and innovate with others;c) Adapt their speeches to various audience.

    PSYCHOMOTOR: a) Integrate multi-media effectively to enhance public speaking.b) Conduct internet research and gather supporting materials for speeches.
