Who we are
Energy Solutions, a part of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at North Carolina State University identifies energy efficiency, co-generation and green initiatives that reduce energy, save money and increase profits, resulting in a more competitive and sustainable base of industry. About one third of the team's recommendations are implemented, resulting in an average of $7 million in annual energy savings.
Energy Solutions also serves as one of 24 Industrial Assessment Centers in the country, for manufacturers that meet eligibility requirements.

Serving Utilities
• Fayetteville Public Works Commission is using energy services provided by Energy Solutions, NC State University to reach out to its Industrial and Commercial Sector.• FPWC is helping its customers, reduce utility bills and
increase profits. This public service contributes to a stronger local economy.• Energy services help utilities add load in a controlled
manner, reduce energy waste, shift loads from peak to off-peak times, and reduce peak loads – all of which help the utility to manage its costs, while helping customers to grow.
Audits
Energy audits are comprehensive evaluations of the actual performance of a building’s energy using systems.Audits are a launching point for many other energy services. After an audit is completed, the utility can match the customer’s needs with available utility programs.

Audit services may provide any or all of the following:
• A comprehensive analysis of energy costs• Breakdown of energy use by applications/pieces of equipment
and processes • Recommendations for energy efficiency measures• Load management suggestions• Estimated implementation costs and cost-to-benefit analysis• Available rates, rebates and financing options• Information on available technical assistance• An educational opportunity to the customer
