Energy Audit & PV System Design In 2013, ASD was hired by SOS to run an energy audit and feasibility study in Tadjoura and Balballa, Djibouti. From ASD’s findings a hybrid solar PV system was designed and ASD advised SOS on potential interconnection with the national grid. ASD was then contracted to tender and manage the installation and run quality control for the system. To ensure the project’s success and system sustainability, ASD created a strong relationship with the national grid regulator and operator. ASD also build the client’s understanding of how a grid connection would work. ASD assessed the sustainability of Tadjoura power grid for grid- connected solar PV system and worked with the architect to design a practical and attractive roof-mounted PV array. ASD then provided help to SOS to negotiate with relevant Djibouti-based energy actors to allow its new energy system to be ’grid-interactive’. ASD conducted an energy audit and feasibility assessment of the Tadjoura and Balballa sites that forecasted electricity and energy consumption patters for SOS Children’s Village International (SOS). From the findings, ASD designed a hybrid solar PV system.
