On the first Saturday in February each year, Enduring Gratitude hosts a very special event at Beaver Pond Sporting Club in Snow Camp, NC. This is an event that honors our brave veterans who have volunteered to serve our great country and to defend our freedoms and cherished way of life. They are Soldiers, Marines, Sailors and Airmen that have served in Iraq, Afghanistan or the Vietnam Wars. They are full-time military as well as members of the National Guard. The event was established so that we could simply say “Thank You for your service and the personal sacrifices you have made on our behalf.” It is an incredible day of enjoyment, fun and fellowship for our participating veterans and tremendously gratifying for the volunteers that make it successful. It is a beautiful day outdoors of shooting clays on the Five-Stand and sporting clays on the 14 station walking course. It is highlighted by a thrilling Pheasant Tower Shoot with participants rotating around the field to each of the 12 stations to experience shooting angles from all 360 degrees. Lunch is a full fledged Pig Pickin’, roasted chicken along with all the fixins’. Most specially after lunch, we are individually and collectively humbled as our guests share many of their riveting stories about the incredible things they witnessed and experienced during their time at war. It is during this time that we all realize just how fortunate we really are to have such brave individuals that are willing to do whatever necessary for our national security. Throughout the day, it is so rewarding to hear the veterans express their appreciation to be able to take part in this event and to say how much it means to them that there are people like us that really care and are so genuinely thankful for their service. As they share their stories of some of the horrific things they have experienced, they will always finish by saying... “I have no regrets and I would absolutely serve and do it again.” A soldier wrote a very personal email and sent it to us after event. He said, “ This weekend at Beaver Pond Sporting Club was a great reminder and reassurance that everything I have done and that my brothers in arms have done is not in vain. I know if I could do it again and my injuries would let me, I would do it all over again. Hunting and being out in the beautiful American outdoors with fellow patriots and true Americans is more therapy than any doctor could ever give me. It is something that I will never forget and will always look back to when I struggle in the future. Thank you so much and I will never forget it”. Enduring Gratitude is a 501c3 charitable non-profit. 100% of our funds are used to finance our event. All Board members personally contribute to the event and none of our funding is used for administration expense. We hope you enjoy this brochure that chronicles this year’s February 2014 event. These great pictures speak for themselves....they simply tell a thousand words. Many thanks to our generous sponsors and to the multitude of volunteers who make this event possible. We hope you will consider supporting our event in February of 2015. God Bless You All and God Bless the United States of America. Respectfully, Board of DirectorsEnduring Gratitude

God and the Soldier at the Gates of Heaven
The Final InspectionThe Soldier stood and faced God, which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining, just as brightly as his brass.
“Step forward now you soldier, how shall I deal with you?Have you always turned the other cheek? To My Church have you been true?”
The Solider squared his shoulders and said, “No, Lord, I guess I ain’t.Because those of us who carry guns, can’t always be a saint.
I’ve had to work most Sundays, and at times my talk was tough. And sometimes I’ve been violent, because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a bean, that wasn’t mine to keep…Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help, though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God, forgive me, I’ve wept unmanly tears.
I know I don’t deserve a place, among the people here. They never wanted me around, except to calm their fears.
If you’ve a place for me here, Lord, it needn’t be so grand.I never expected or had too much, but if you don’t, I understand.”
There was a silence all around the throne, where the saints had often trod.As the soldier waited quietly, for the Judgment of his God.
“Step forward now, you soldier, you’ve borne your burdens well.Walk peaceful on the Heaven’s streets. You’ve done your time in Hell.”
