Accept the assurances of my highest consideration, Through this letter we would like to present and endorse the application of Mrs. Susana Villarán de la Puente in the name of the Flora Tristán Peruviann Women’s Center as Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women, its causes and consequences. The Flora Tristán Peruviann Women’s Center, is a non-governmental organization, with over 35 years of work favoring the full validity of women’s rights and committed with the elimination of all forms of violence against women, with special consultative status before the ECOSOC of United Nations. In our path, we have worked jointly and accompanied many plans, policies, programs in favor of women linked to the participation of Mrs. Villarán mainly as former Minister of Women, and former Mayor of Lima. We consider that the first National Plan for prevention against family violence was made during her term in office; this opened an important road for this governmental policy. Also in the Municipality of Lima, we specially recognize the Warma Wasi service which added experience and efforts regarding assistance for victims of violence in the city. As President of the National Network of Women Authorities, we appreciate her support, follow-up and contribution to the initiative of the bill of law against political harassment currently in debate in the Peruvian Congress.
