Day 1 Chiclayo – Pomac Forest- Chaparrí
07:50
Pick up from the airport. We wil transfer to
Forest Historical Sanctuary Pomac. Flight
suggested LA 2272, 06:20/07:50.
In the Forest of Pómac we will find several
Tumbesinos Endemic species with the bird
threatened Peruvian Plantcutter and
Rufous Flycatcher. Also we caould see
Necklaced Spinetail, Fasciated Wren,
Superciliated Wren, Cinereous Finch,
Gray-and-White Tyrannulet, Short-tailed
Field-Tyrant, Scarletbacked Woodpecker,
Tumbes Tyrannulet (split from Mouse-
colored Tyrannulet), Tumbes Swallow,
Tumbes Pitajo.

Leave to Chiclayo for lunch.

Lunch at Fiesta Gourmet Restaurant.

After lunch, we transfer to Chaparrí Private
Conservation Area (PCA), which is the first
recognized with this category of Protected
National Area (ANP) in the Peru .

Dinner and overnight at Lodge.

Day 2 Chaparrí
The Chaparrí Private Conservation Area is
owned by the rural community of Santa
Catalina Chongoyape, with a total area of
34 000 hectares. This PCA is well known for
its population of White-winged Guan,
because this area has developed a project
to rescue these birds, which were bred in
captivity and are now reintroduced into
the wild. Other species found in the region
Tumbesina due to its arid forests are:
Peruvian Screech-Owl, Whitetailed Jay,
Tumbes Tyrant, Pacific Elaenia, White-
headed Brush-Finch, Sulphur-throated
Finch, as well as many other species of
Tumbes.
Dinner and overnight at Chaparrí Lodge.

Day 3 Chaparrí- Casupe - Chiclayo
We will leave early to Casupe forest, after
40 minutes we will arrive to find wild White-
winged Guans, this forest is exceptionally
good to observe Porculla Hermit, Golden-
Olive Woodpecker, Rufous-necked and
Henna-hooded Foliage-gleaners,
Chapman's Antshrike, Linecheeked
Spinetail, Piura Chat-Tyrant, Three-
banded Warbler, White-winged and
Paynter's Brush-Finches and Black-
cowled Saltator.
After lunch box we will transfer to
Chiclayo. On the way we will stop at the
reservoir Tinajones, we will search
Southern Pochard and Black-faced Ibis.
