State of the Endeavor


Endeavor needs to start with an apology to you

• Quality problems with Release 2000 were severe.

• Bugs were very disruptive and expensive for you.

• We are truly sorry.

• In fact, we apologize.


It won’t happen again

• You can’t afford it.

• We can’t afford it.

• We have already formed a new group inside development to assure that it won’t happen again.


Congratulations to GIL !!

• All of the Voyager systems are up !

• Everyone has worked really hard and as a team !

• Universal Catalog is ready to premier

• Universal Borrowing is gearing up


You have changed Endeavor

• Universal Catalog was built for GIL, but it is wonderful !

• UC has impacted basic Voyager• Search redirect• Better deduping rules• More options for displaying

holdings

Universal Borrowing is unique

• Real example of partnership – including hard work and compromise

• No other system has this peer-to-peer system for “virtual circulation”

• True patron-initiated resource sharing

• Basis for all of it is your willingness to work together – it’s wonderful !
