Church Staff Rev. Scott Stancil Pastor Rev. Ricky Stark Minister of Students & Education Carol Petty CDC Director Hayley Smith Ministry Intern Encourager THE FIRST BAPTIST LYMAN WEEK OF AUGUST 18, 2010 Church Family- The past few Sundays have been so special in our church. On August 8, we unanimously called Jim and Kim Carey to be our Minister of Music and Senior Adults. I know you’ve been praying about this for some time now. I ask you to continue to pray for the Careys and for the church they’ll be leaving. The Careys will be joining us in the middle of September. I hope you’re planning to join us this Sunday evening at Lyman Lake. We always have a great time! If you haven’t already, give us a call and let us know you’ll be coming so you’ll have a piece of chicken! If you forget...I guess I’ll share mine. Next Sunday, August 29, will be our next First Joy. That will be a busy afternoon and evening. There will be an orientation for the parents of preschoolers and children at 4:30 PM in the fellowship hall, then First Joy at 6 PM in the sanctuary, followed by a time of fellowship and refreshments. It’s a very important night, so be sure to be with us. In our series, Inside The Magic Kingdom: Seven Keys to Disney’s Success, we last considered the idea that Everyone must walk the talk. Slightly different this time is the idea that Everything must walk the talk. In other words, our church facilities, our ministries, our services, our parking lot, our signs, absolutely everything we have and do must communicate our message. First Baptist Lyman: One Lord, One Fellowship, One Purpose. We exist to love God and love others. This adds integrity to the mission. It makes it more than “lip service.” We need to prayerfully consider everything we do and how we do it in the days ahead. Join me in working to ensure that Everything walks the talk. I love you all. It’s an awesome time to be a part of what God is doing. We’re working prayerfully and diligently to prepare for what’s to come. If we don’t - it’ll pass right by. Thanks for your faithfulness and joyful spirit.
