• Students are drawn to Enactus because they want to contribute, so it’s important to have opportunities to do so right away• Having volunteers sitting in on a meeting
is not properly engaging them.• Speaking of which…

• Disorganized meetings can be off-putting to new and old volunteers alike•Meetings which are purely updates can
feel like a waste of time.• So how do we ensure meetings are
engaging?

• Send out agenda beforehand• Keep regular scheduled meetings• Ensure you come with a list of to-dos
and assign them to specific volunteers–Group new and experienced volunteers
together to get everyone involved• If you’re running the meeting, be there
first there and the last to leave

• There should always be something happening with your team• If you have a lull in your schedule, fill it
with volunteering in the community, having a social, or organizing a professional development session for your team.

of ambitious students who want to grow within the organization.• How do we retain these volunteers?

• Talk to individual members to understand what positions interest them• Ensure transparency in the selection
process for any position• Touch-base with unsuccessful
candidates to explain reasoning and how they can still be involved

other important operational areas

• There is a lot of potential for creativity within the Enactus brand, which is great.• That said, it is important to stay within
the brand guidelines outlined within your handbook• This has improved tremendously in the

- Lead by example. Accountability starts from the top down.-Clearly defined R&R-This can be done formally or informally-Ensure that your team members aren’t taking on more than they can handle

• Create a budget for all of your projects and travel–Acknowledge all expenses you will incur
this year•Travel, projects, printing costs, etc.
