TWM is an evidence-based program, effective at reducing stigma and increasing resiliency, as well as being informative, relevant, and useful. For Supervisors and Managers - The workshop aims to increase awareness of mental health, reduce the stigma of mental illnesses, and offer resources to maintain positive mental health and increase resiliency. Equally important goals are to ensure you have the confidence, tools and resources to manage and support your employees who may be experiencing a mental illness and, to recognize the effects of the stigma of mental illness and attempt to reduce its impact. The objectives of this course are: To examine the effects of mental health problems and mental illnesses in the workplace To help staff identify indicators of declining and poor mental health in themselves and others To raise awareness about the stigma of mental illness and other barriers to treatment To introduce the concept of the Mental Health Continuum Model To review employees’, manager’, and employers’ mental health rights and responsibilities

• To provide effective management tools to support employees who experience a mental illness

• To provide strategies staff can use to maintain good mental health In this workshop you will: Learn how to recognize the signs that a mental health issue may be at play in regard to the behaviour or performance of an employee. Obtain the necessary tools to understand the accommodation process as it relates to mental health issues. Find out if, when and how you should start a conversation with an employee about a mental health issue.

Please note: The ENGAGE Program offers The Working Mind for Employees: The Working Mind is targeted to general workplace audiences. The workshop aims to increase awareness of mental health, reduce the stigma of mental illnesses, and offer resources to maintain positive mental health and increase resiliency. Equally important goals are to create a supportive environment, strengthen the organizational culture, and contribute to a healthy workplace. Staff cannot attend the ENGAGE session until their manager has attended the ENABLE session.
