1. SAFETY INFORMATIONBefore the installation and use of the appliance,carefully read the supplied instructions. Themanufacturer is not responsible if an incorrectinstallation and use causes injuries and damages. Alwayskeep the instructions with the appliance for futurereference.

1.1 Children and vulnerable people safety• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8

years and above and persons with reduced physical,sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experienceand knowledge if they have been given supervision orinstruction concerning use of the appliance in a safeway and understand the hazards involved.

• Do not let children play with the appliance.• Keep all packaging away from children.• Keep all detergents away from children.• Keep children and pets away from the appliance door

when it is open.• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by

children without supervision.

1.2 General Safety• Do not change the specification of this appliance.• Obey the maximum load volume of 6 kg (refer to the

“Programme chart” chapter).• The operating water pressure (minimum and

maximum) must be between 0,5 bar (0,05 MPa) and 8bar (0,8 MPa).

• The ventilation openings in the base (if applicable)must not be obstructed by a carpet.

• The appliance is to be connected to the water mainsusing the new supplied hose-sets. Old hose sets mustnot be reused.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced bythe manufacturer, its Authorised Service Centre orsimilarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

• Before maintenance, deactivate the appliance anddisconnect the mains plug from the mains socket.

• Do not use water spray and steam to clean theappliance.

• Clean the appliance with a moist soft cloth. Only useneutral detergents. Do not use abrasive products,abrasive cleaning pads, solvents or metal objects.

2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

2.1 Installation• Remove all the packaging and the

transit bolts.• Keep the transit bolts. When you

move the appliance again you mustblock the drum.

• Always be careful when you move theappliance because it is heavy. Alwayswear safety gloves.

• Do not install or use a damagedappliance.

• Obey the installation instructionsupplied with the appliance.

• Do not install or use the appliancewhere the temperature is less than 0°C or where it is exposed to theweather.

• Make sure that the floor where youinstall the appliance is flat, stable,heat resistant and clean.

• Do not install the appliance where theappliance door can not be fullyopened.

• Make sure that there is air circulationbetween the appliance and the floor.

• Adjust the feet to have the necessaryspace between the appliance and thecarpet.

2.2 Electrical Connection• The appliance must be earthed.• Always use a correctly installed

shockproof socket.• Make sure that the electrical

information on the rating plate agrees

with the power supply. If not contactan electrician.

• Do not use multi-plug adapters andextension cables.

• Make sure not to cause damage tothe mains plug and to the mainscable. Should the mains cable needto be replaced, this must be carriedout by our Authorised Service Centre.

• Connect the mains plug to the mainssocket only at the end of theinstallation. Make sure that there isaccess to the mains plug after theinstallation.

• Do not touch the mains cable or themains plug with wet hands.

• Do not pull the mains cable todisconnect the appliance. Always pullthe mains plug.

• Only for UK and Ireland: Theappliance has a 13 amp mains plug. Ifit is necessary to change the fuse inthe mains plug, use a 13 amp ASTA(BS 1362) fuse.

• This appliance complies with theE.E.C. Directives.

2.3 Water connection• Make sure not to cause damage to

the water hoses.• Before you connect the appliance to

new pipes or pipes not used for along time, let the water flow until it isclean.

• The first time you use the appliance,make sure that there is no leakage.

2.4 Use

WARNING!Risk of injury, electricalshock, fire, burns or damageto the appliance.

• Use this appliance in a householdonly.

• Obey the safety instructions on thedetergent packaging.

• Do not put flammable products oritems that are wet with flammableproducts in, near or on the appliance.

• Make sure that you remove all metalobjects from the laundry.

• Do not put a container to collectpossible water leakage under the

appliance. Contact the AuthorisedService Centre to ensure whichaccessories can be used.

2.5 Disposal

WARNING!Risk of injury or suffocation.

• Disconnect the appliance from themains supply.

• Cut off the mains cable and discard it.• Remove the door catch to prevent

children and pets to get closed in theappliance.

1) During this cycle the drum rotates slowly to ensure a gentle washing. It can seem that the drumdoesn't rotate or doesn't rotate properly. Consider this as a normal functioning of the appliance.2) Set the spin speed. Make sure it agrees with the laundry. If you set No Spin option the only drainphase is available.3) Do not use any detergent for prewash phase to rinse only with water.4) This programme is for daily use and has lowest energy and water consumption maintaining a goodwashing performance.5) Standard programmes for the Energy Label consumption values. According to regulation1061/2010, these programmes are respectively the «Standard 60°C cotton programme» and the «Stand-ard 40°C cotton programme». They are the most efficient programmes in terms of combined energy andwater consumption for washing normally soiled cotton laundry.

The water temperature of the washing phase may differ from the temperature declaredfor the selected programme.

The data of this table are approximate. Different causes can change thedata: the quantity and type of laundry, the water and ambient tempera-ture.

At programme start the display shows the duration programme for themaximum load capacity. During the washing phase the programme du-ration is automatically calculated and can be greatly reduced if the laun-dry load is lower than the maximum load capacity (e.g. Cotton 60°C,maximum load capacity 6 kg, the programme duration exceeds 2 hours;real load 1 kg, the programme duration don’t reach 1 hour). When theappliance is calculating the real programme duration a dot blinks in thedisplay.

7. OPTIONS

7.1 TemperatureSet this option to change the defaulttemperature.

Indicator = cold water.

The display shows the set temperature.

7.2 SpinWith this option you can decrease thedefault spin speed.

The display shows the indicator of the setspeed.

• Set this option to remove all spinphases.

• Set it for very delicate fabrics.• The rinse phase uses more water for

some washing programmes.• The display shows the indicator

.Rinse Hold

• Set this option to prevent the laundrycreases.

• The washing programme stops withthe water in the drum. The drum turnsregularly to prevent the laundrycreases.

• The lid stays locked. You must drainthe water to unlock the lid.

• The display shows the indicator .

To drain the water refer to‘At the end of theprogramme’.

7.3 StainsSet this option to add the stain phase toa programme.

Use this option for laundry with hardstains to remove.

This option increases theprogramme duration. Thisoption is not available with atemperature lower than 40°C.

7.4 Liquid DetergentPress this button to adapt the cycle if youuse a liquid detergent.

The related indicator comes on.

7.5 Extra RinseWith this option you can add some rinsesto a washing programme.

Use this option for persons allergic todetergents and in areas where the wateris soft.

The related indicator comes on.

7.6 Time SaveWith this option you can decrease theprogramme duration.

• Press this button one time to set'Shortened duration' for items withdaily soil.

• Press this button two times to set'Extra Quick' for items with almost nosoil.

Some programmes acceptonly one of the two options.

7.7 Delay StartWith this option you can delay the startof a programme from 30 minutes to 20hours.

The display shows the related indicatorand delay time.

8. SETTINGS

8.1 Acoustic signalsThe acoustic signals operate when:

• You activate the appliance.• You deactivate the appliance.• You press the buttons.• The programme is completed.• The appliance has a malfunction.To deactivate/activate the acoustic

signals, press and at the sametime for 6 seconds.

If you deactivate theacoustic signals, theycontinue operate when theappliance has a malfunction.

8.2 Child Lock With this option you can prevent that thechildren play with the control panel.

• To activate/deactivate this option,

press and at the same time

until the indicator comes on/goesoff.

• Before you press Start/Pause : theappliance cannot start.

8.3 Permanent Extra RinseWith this option you can permanentlyhave an extra rinse when you set a newprogramme.

• To activate/deactivate this option

press and at the same timeuntil the indicator Extra Rinse comeson/goes off.

9. BEFORE FIRST USE1. Put a small quantity of detergent in

the compartment for washing phase.2. Set and start a programme for cotton

at the highest temperature withoutlaundry.

This removes all possible dirt from thedrum and the tub.

10. DAILY USE

10.1 Activating the appliance1. Open the water tap.2. Connect the mains plug to the mains

socket.3. Press button On/Off to activate the

appliance.A short tune sounds.

10.2 Loading the laundry1. Open the appliance lid.2. Push the button A.The drum opens automatically.3. Put the laundry in the drum, one item

at a time.4. Shake the items before you put them

in the appliance.Make sure not to put too much laundryin the drum.5. Close the drum and the lid.

CAUTION!Before you close the lid ofyour appliance, make surethat you close the drumcorrectly.

10.3 Using detergent andadditivesMeasure out the detergent and thefabric conditioner.

10.4 Detergent compartments

Detergent compartment for prewash phase.The marks MAX are the maximum levels of the quantity of detergent(powder or liquid).

Detergent compartment for washing phase.The marks MAX are the maximum levels of the quantity of detergent(powder or liquid).

Compartment for liquid additives (fabric conditioner, starch).

The mark M is the maximum level for the quantity liquid additives.

Flap for powder or liquid detergent.

10.6 Setting a programme1. Turn the programme knob and set

the programme:• The related programme indicator

comes on.• The indicator of Start/Pause

flashes.• The display shows: the default

temperature, the spin speed, theindicators of the programmephases and the programmeduration.

2. If necessary, change thetemperature, the spin speed, thecycle duration, or add availableoptions. When you activate anoption, the indicator of the setoption comes on.

If you set somethingincorrect, the display showsthe message Err.

10.7 Starting a programmewithout the delay startPress button Start/Pause to start theprogramme.The relevant indicator stops to flash andstays on.On the display the indicator of the phaseis operation starts to flash.The programme starts, the lid is locked.

The display show the indicator .

The drain pump can operatefor a short time when theappliance fills water.

10.8 Behaviour of theappliance

After approximately 15minutes from the start of theprogramme:• The appliance adjusts

automatically the cycletime to the laundry youhave put in the drum tohave perfect washingresults in the minimumnecessary time.

• The display shows thenew time value.

10.9 Starting a programmewith the delay start1. Press button Delay Start again and

again until the display shows thenumber of minutes or hours of delay.

The related indicator comes on.2. Press button Start/Pause.The appliance starts the countdown ofthe delay start.When the countdown is completed, theprogramme starts automatically.

Before you press buttonStart/Pause to start theappliance, you can cancel orchange the set of the delaystart.

10.10 Cancelling the delaystartTo cancel the delay start:

1. Press button Start/Pause to set theappliance to pause.

The related indicator flashes.2. Press button Delay Start repeatedly

until the display shows .3. Press button Start/Pause again to

start the programme immediately.

10.11 Interrupting aprogramme and changing afunctionYou can change only some optionsbefore they operate.

1. Press button Start/Pause.The related indicator flashes.2. Change the function set.3. Press the button Start/Pause again.The programme continues.

10.12 Cancelling a programme1. Press button On/Off to cancel the

programme and to deactivate theappliance.

2. Press button On/Off again to activatethe appliance.

Now, you can set a new washingprogramme.

Before starting the newprogramme the appliancedrains the water. Make surethat the detergent is still inthe detergent compartment,if not fill the detergentagain.

10.13 Opening the door whenthe programme operates

CAUTION!If the temperature and levelof the water in the drum aretoo high, the door lock

indicator stays on andyou cannot open the door.

To open the door proceed as follows:

1. Press the button On/Off for someseconds to deactivate the appliance.

2. Wait for some minutes and thenopen carefully the appliance door.

3. Close the appliance door.4. Activate the appliance and set the

programme again.

10.14 Opening the door whenthe delay start is activeWhile the delay start operates, theappliance door is locked.To open the appliance door:

1. Press button Start/Pause.

In the display the door lock indicator goes off.2. Open the appliance door.3. Close the door and press button

Start/Pause.The delay start continues.

10.15 End of cycleWhen the programme has finished, theappliance stops automatically. Theacoustic signal operates (if it is active).

In the display comes on and the lid

locked indicator goes off.

The indicator of Start/Pause button goesoff.

1. Press button On/Off to deactivatethe appliance.

After five minutes from the end of theprogramme, the energy saving functionautomatically deactivates the appliance.

When you activate theappliance again, the displayshow the end of the last setprogramme. Turn theprogramme knob to set anew cycle.

2. Remove the laundry from theappliance.

3. Make sure that the drum is empty.4. Keep the door ajar, to prevent

mildew and odours5. Close the water tap.

10.16 Draining water out afterend of cycleThe washing programme is completed,but there is water in the drum:

The drum turns regularly to prevent thecreases in the laundry.

The lid lock indicator is on. The lidstays locked.

You must drain the water to open the lid:

1. If necessary, decrease the spinspeed.

2. Press the Start/Pause button.The appliance drains the water andspins.3. When the programme is completed

and the door lock indicator goesoff, you can open the door .

4. Press On/Off some seconds todeactivate the appliance.

The appliance drains andspins automatically afterapproximately18 hours.

10.17 AUTO Stand-by optionThe AUTO Stand-by option automaticallydeactivates the appliance to decreasethe energy consumption when:

• You do not use the appliance for 5minutes before you press Start/Pausebutton.Press the button On/Off to activatethe appliance again.

• After 5 minutes from the end of thewashing programme

11. HINTS AND TIPS

WARNING!Refer to Safety chapters.

11.1 The laundry load• Divide the laundry in: white, coloured,

synthetics, delicates and wool.• Obey the washing instructions that

are on the laundry care labels.• Do not wash together white and

coloured items.• Some coloured items can discolour

with the first wash. We recommendthat you wash them separately for thefirst times.

• Button up pillowcases, close zippers,hooks and poppers. Tie up belts.

• Empty the pockets and unfold theitems.

• Turn inside out multilayered fabrics,wool and items with paintedillustrations.

• Remove hard stains.• Wash with a special detergent heavy

soil stains.• Be careful with the curtains. Remove

the hooks or put the curtains in awashing bag or pillowcase.

• Do not wash in the appliance laundrywithout hems or with cuts. Use awashing bag to wash small and/ordelicate items (e.g. underwired bras,belts, tights, etc. ).

• A very small load can cause balanceproblems with the spin phase. If thisoccurs, adjust manually the items inthe tub and start the spin phaseagain.

11.2 Stubborn stainsFor some stains, water and detergent isnot sufficient.

We recommend that you remove thesestains before you put the items in theappliance.

Special stain removers are available. Usethe special stain remover that isapplicable to the type of stain and fabric.

11.3 Detergents and additives• Only use detergents and additives

specially made for washing machines:– powder detergents for all types of

fabric,– powder detergents for delicate

fabrics (40 °C max) and woollens,– liquid detergents, preferably for

low temperature washprogrammes (60 °C max) for alltypes of fabric, or special forwoollens only.

• Do not mix different types ofdetergents.

• To help the environment, do not usemore than the correct quantity ofdetergent.

• Obey the instructions that you find onthe on packaging of these products.

• Use the correct products for the typeand colour of the fabric, theprogramme temperature and thelevel of soil.

• If your appliance has not thedetergent dispenser with the flapdevice, add the liquid detergents witha dosing ball (supplied by thedetergent's manufacturer).

11.4 Ecological hints• Set a programme without the

prewash phase to wash laundry withnormal soil.

• Always start a washing programmewith the maximum load of laundry.

• If necessary, use a stain remover whenyou set a programme with a lowtemperature.

• To use the correct quantity of thedetergent, check the water hardnessof your domestic system

11.5 Water hardnessIf the water hardness in your area is highor moderate, we recommend that youuse a water softener for washingmachines. In areas where the waterhardness is soft it is not necessary to usea water softener.

To know the water hardness in your area,contact your local water authority.

Use the correct quantity of the watersoftener. Obey the instructions that youfind on the packaging of the product.

12. CARE AND CLEANING

WARNING!Refer to Safety chapters.

12.1 External cleaningClean the appliance only with soap andwarm water. Fully dry all the surfaces.

CAUTION!Do not use alcohol, solventsor chemical products.

12.2 DescalingIf the water hardness in your area is highor moderate, we recommend that youuse a water softener for washingmachines.

Regularly examine the drum to preventlimescale and rust particles.

To remove rust particles use only specialproducts for washing machine. Do thisseparately from the laundry wash.

Always obey the instructionsthat you find on thepackaging of the product.

12.3 Maintenance washWith the low temperature programmes itis possible that some detergent stays inthe drum. Make regularly a maintenancewash. To do this:

• Remove the laundry from the drum.• Set the cotton programme with the

highest temperature with a smallquantity of detergent.

12.7 Emergency drainBecause of a malfunction, the appliancecannot drain the water.

If this occurs, do steps (1) through (5) of'Cleaning the drain filter'. If necessary,clean the pump.

0° C, remove the remaining water fromthe inlet hose and the drain pump.

1. Disconnect the mains plug from themains socket.

2. Close the water tap.3. Put the two ends of the inlet hose in

a container and let the water flow outof the hose.

4. Empty the drain pump. Refer to theemergency drain procedure.

5. When the drain pump is empty,install the inlet hose again.

WARNING!Make sure that thetemperature is more than 0°C before you use theappliance again. Themanufacturer is notresponsible for damagescaused by low temperatures.

13. TROUBLESHOOTING

WARNING!Refer to Safety chapters.

13.1 IntroductionThe start of the appliance does not occuror it stops during operation.

First try to find a solution to the problem(refer to the table). If not, contact theAuthorised Service Centre.

With some problems, the acousticsignals operate and the display showsan alarm code:

• - The appliance does not fill withwater properly.

• - The appliance does not drainthe water.

• - The appliance door is open ornot closed correctly. Please check thedoor!

• - The mains supply is unstable.Wait until the mains supply is stable.

• - The anti-flood device is on.Disconnect the appliance and closethe water tap. Contact the AuthorisedService Centre.

WARNING!Deactivate the appliancebefore you do the checks.

13.2 Possible failures

The programme doesnot start.

Make sure that the mains plug is connected to the mains sock-et.

Make sure that the appliance lid is closed.

Make sure that there is not a damaged fuse in the fuse box.

Make sure that the Start/Pause has been pressed.

If the delay start is set, cancel the setting or wait for the end ofcountdown.

Deactivate the Child Lock function if it is on.

The appliance does notfill with water properly.

Make sure that the water tap is open.

Make sure that the connection of the water inlet hose is cor-rect.

The appliance does notfill with water and drainimmediately.

Make sure that the drain hose is in the correct position. Thehose may be too low.

The appliance does notdrain the water.

Make sure that the sink spigot is not clogged.

Make sure that the drain hose has no kinks or bends.

Make sure that the drain filter is not clogged. Clean the filter, ifnecessary. Refer to 'Care and cleaning'.

Make sure that the connection of the drain hose is correct.

Set the drain programme if you set a programme without drainphase.

Set the drain programme if you set an option which ends withwater in the tub.

The spin phase does notoperate or the washingcycle lasts longer thanusually.

Set the spin programme.

Make sure that the drain filter is not clogged. Clean the filter, ifnecessary. Refer to 'Care and cleaning'.

Adjust manually the items in the tub and start the spin phaseagain. This problem may be caused by balance problems.

There is water on thefloor.

Make sure that the couplings of the water hoses are tight andthere is not water leakages.

Make sure that the drain hose have no damages.

Make sure you use the correct detergent and the correct quan-tity of it.

You cannot open the ap-pliance lid.

Make sure that the washing programme is finished.

Set the drain or the spin programme if there is water in thedrum.

The appliance makes anunusual noise.

Make sure the levelling of the appliance is correct. Refer to 'In-stallation'.

Make sure that the packaging and/or the transit bolts are re-moved. Refer to 'Installation'.

Add more laundry in the drum. The load may be too small.

The cycle is shorter thanthe time displayed.

The appliance calculates a new time according to the laundryload. See the ‘Consumption Values’ chapter.

The cycle is longer thanthe time displayed.

An unbalanced laundry load increases the duration time. Thisis a normal behaviour of the appliance.

The washing results arenot satisfactory.

Increase the detergent quantity or use a different detergent.

Use special products to remove the stubborn stains before youwash the laundry.

Make sure that you set the correct temperature.

Decrease the laundry load.

You cannot set an op-tion.

Make sure that you press only the wanted touch button(s).

After the check, activate the appliance. The programme continues from the point ofinterruption.If the problem occurs again, contact the Authorised Service Centre.If the display shows other alarm codes. Deactivate and activate the appliance. If theproblem continues, contact the Authorised Service Centre.
