FUNCTIONAL PRINCIPLE / ASSEMBLY
Functional principleTo ensure that the maximum operating pressure is not exceeded, each heat generator of aheating system has to be assured by a safety valve. Safety valves have to able to release vapour,water resp. a mixture of water and vapour, so that the pressure within the heating system doesnot exceed more than 10% of the set maximum operating pressure.
This means, that a safety valve has to be able to drain the total heating output of the heatgenerator. During normal system function safety valves will not start to function.

AssemblySafety valves have to be installed at an easy accessible position at the highest point of the heatgenerator of in close proximity in the flow pipe of the heat generator.
Between the heat generator and the safety valve no shut-off device may be located!
Each safety valve has to be built in vertical position and has to have its own rising pipe withmaximum 1 m lenght as well as its own air outlet pipe. The air outlet pipe has to be onedimension larger than the connecting pipe to the safety valve. For details please compare therelevant standards.
Caution!
The discharge pipe of the safety valve may not be installed with a rise!
Especially important is a low flow resistance of this exhaust pipe. Hence it should freely
lead into a proper discharge hopper as close as possible to the safety valve and the
exhaust pipe must be as short as possible.
Too long exhaust pipes with too high flow resistance may result in a defective membrane
of the safety valve during blowing. This is even necessary to prevent the plant from
exceeding pressure also in case of inadequate installation. Such damages are never
covered by any kind of guarantee.
