Enculturation:INTRODUCTION:

Change is the law of nature and an essential ingredient of man’s evolutionary process. Man is both conservative as well as dynamic. human takes birth in society and lives in the society till the death. So many factors will affect on human and society it’s a continuous process this process is two dimensional here a single person may bring change in total group of society or vice versa. Like wise human being acquires new cultures in his life leads to Enculturation.

WHAT IS CULTURE? Accoding to Edgar Schein

“culture is the deeper level of basic assumptions and belifs that are shared by memders of an organization, that operate unconsciously and define in a basic taken for granted fashion an organization’s view of its self and its environment”.

A simpler definition:A simple way of defining

culture is a system for differntiating between in-group and out-group people.

Culture is what keeps people together so you could even say culture is social glue.

MEANING:Enculturation is the process by which a

person learns the requirements of the web by which he or she is surrounded and acquires values and behaviors that are appropriate or recesory in that culture.DEFINATIONS:According to mary elan godon

“Enculturation is a process of transformation of culture to the young.”

According to E.Adamson Hoebel-“Enculturation both a conscious and an unconscious conditions process where by man, as child and adult, achieves competence in his culture, internalizes his culture and become thoroughly encultured.

CHARACTERISHICS OF ENCULTURATION1.It is the process in which the adoption of the behavior patterns of the surrounding culture.2.it includes the socialization of child learn to the norms of their culture.3.the process of learning to become a responsible adult member of a society.4.the process of enculturation is related to socialication.5.Enculturation can be conscious or unconscious process. 6.Enculturation helps mold a person in to an acceptable member of society.7.Enculturation is a lifelong process that helps unity people.

ENCULTURATION AND EDUCATION:Sociologist Talcott parson spoke of the birth of

new generations of childrens as a recurrent barbarian invasion. Education plays important role in enculturation as the process by which individuals acquire the knowledge,skills,attitudes and values that enable them to become functioning members of their societies. NATURE AND IMP ORTANCE:

Enculturation is the product of learning enculturation is not a static it is dynamic process. Enculturation is takes place through conscious or unconscious mode. Enculturation is called as acculturation some time it means exchange of culture from one generation to another generation. Enculturation begins before birth and continues untill death.

CONCLUSION:Enculturation helps mold a person into an

acceptable member of society. Culture influences everything that a person does, whether they are aware of it or not. Enculturation is a lifelong process that helps unify people. Enculturation plays a significant role in discipling and educating young generation. For the enrichment of knowledge and technology enculturation is very important process it helps to get information regarding universal culture and languages it plays an very important role in the growth of the community.

Acculturation: INTRODUCTION:

Acculturation is a process in which members of one cultural group adopt the beliefs and behaviors of another group. Although acculturation is usually in the direction of a minority group adopting habits and language patterns of the dominant group, acculturation can be reciprocal that is, the dominant group also adopts patterns typical of the minority group. Assimilation of one cultural group into another may be evidenced by changes in language preference, adoption of common attitudes and values, members hip in common social groups and institutions.

MEANING :Acculturation is the exchange of cultural

features that results when groups of individuals having different cultures come into continuous first hand contact; the original cultural patterns of either or both groups may be altered, but the groups remain distinct.

DEFINITION’S:

1 .acculturation – means “A cultural unit(an idea or value or pattern of behavor) that is passed from one person to another by non genetic means(as by imitation)”2 .acculturation – means the adoption of the behavor patterns of the surrounding culture

NATURE OF ACCULTURATION:

•Acculturation is entails two way process of change research and theory have contained with a focus on the adjustment and changes experenced by minorities response to their contact with dominent mejorities .•Acculturation is a unidirection process .•Acculturation is a second culture learning .•Acculturation is the learning of appropriate behavior of one’s host culture.•Acclturation and assimilation differ in degree of adaption to new with in content of Acclturation.

Acculturation can be conceived to be the process of cultural learning imposed upon minorities by the fact of being minorities. If enculturation is first culture learning then acculturation is second culture learning. This has often been conceived to be a unidirectional, zero seem cultural conflict in which the minorities culture is displaced by the dominant group’s culture in a process.CHARACTERISTICS OF ACCULTURATION:

Acculturation plays significant role in exchange of cultural features Acculturation is a process in which members of one culture group adapt the believes and behavior of another group that brings adoption and assimilation is the more extreme process it comes from the realization that one will never turn to the society of origin. Marriage brings together representatives of two separate sub cultures schools bring together representative of different local cultures.
