Mukantwali Euphrasie Muganza, December 24 th , 2015 District: Gisagara Sector: Muganza Cell: Muganza I, Mukantwali Euphrasie, 30years old, married with 2 children. I thank Actionaid to have selected me for this support of rainwater harvesting, 3 hens and 2 vegetable gardens. This support helped me to escape a miserable life. I was fetching water at a distance of 2,5Km using 2hours go and back. Now, this issue is extremely solved. I only fetch 1 jerrycan (20 litres) of safe drinking water once every 4 days. Before this tank of rainwater, we seldom washed up and everything was so dirty due to lack of water but today hygiene has improved at home, we daily wash up, washing clothes, dishes and watering my vegetable gardens. I was getting older due to the burden of fetching water far from home. My hens started laying the eggs and one on them has got 4 chicks. The eggs and vegetables helped me to fight malnutrional for my children. We now eat a complete food. My plan is to sustain this good change in my house by continually having good food with vegetable and eggs, having hygiene on our body and clothes so that we live a healthy life as also my burden of fetching water which was making me to get older earlier, is no longer an issue. My projection is to save some money from eggs and pullets in order to buy other livestock hence continue improving my livelihoods. Mukantwali Euphrasie Photo: 02428
