♪Porchfest ♪2016 On Sunday afternoon October 9th, from 2-4 pm, we will host our first annual Porchfest as part of our Fall for the Arts program. Enjoy a pleasant afternoon sauntering with your friends and family through Sandwich Village while listening to a variety of musicians performing along the way. It might be reggae, blues, jazz, pop -- all genres are welcome here. Sandwich's first-ever Porchfest is free, and will include musical artists such as singer/songwriters, duos, small groups, guitarists, and other instrumentalists playing from porches in front of 10 area businesses and historic homes along Main, Jarves, School and Summer Streets. In keeping with the national "Porchfest" movement, which supposedly started in 2007 in Ithaca, NY, a map will guide listeners along a looping route that will not include microphones or amplification. Similar events have or will occur through the year in about 6 towns in Massachusetts, including the one just held in Wellfleet at the end of August. The emphasis is on unamplified, acoustic music and on building community. Maps will be available online and at each porch during the stroll from 2-4 pm. In the event of rain, Monday Oct. 10th (Columbus Day) will be the rain date at the same time. Details will be available on our website.

Harvest Ball We are pleased to have been selected as a beneficiary of this year’s Harvest Ball hosted by the Sandwich Chamber of Commerce. Put on your dancing shoes, try your hand at black jack and join the fun for a great cause.

  • The 'Starfish Trail' has begun. The Sandwich Arts Alliance is pleased to announce an exciting new project that pairs local businesses with Alliance artists to bring the 'Starfish Trail' to Sandwich in 2017! Twenty 3 ft x 3 ft fiberglass Starfish will be sponsored by local Sandwich businesses and individuals. Each will be decorated by SAA artists; each one unique! These one-of-a-kind works of art will be displayed next summer in front of the sponsoring business and auctioned off at a star-studded event at the end of the summer! We are pleased to announce that (almost) all sponsorships have been secured and artists have been recruited for this project. Stay tuned for more updates in the months to come.
