Understanding Composition
You will create 5 gesture drawings of the subject.
The drawings do not have to contain the whole still life.
When you find the area you want to draw, you will create a drawing that is complete using EMPHASIS. Shading and adding detail
You may chose to use pencil or charcoal when adding emphasis.

It can also be thought of as the organization of the elements of art according to the principles of art.
Let the objects flow off the page.
Then shade and add details from one area of your drawing
Balance: enough objects on both sides to balance each other out.
Good Composition: let the objects flow off the edges.
Emphasis: making one part of the drawing stand out
Proportion: does everything look correctly drawn
Contrast: Light against dark
