My house is up the road from the General Store. The girls’ room is very large and the kitchen is Mama’s favorite room

in the house. We have very kind neighbors that live near us.

My mother makes us many different clothes. There are many different fabrics at the General Store for my mother

to use. I love wearing a new outfit when Mother and Grandmother finished

making clothes.

My father works on our farm planting corn and beans on many acres.

We usually eat all the corn and beans that my father harvests for our meals. My father also works at the General Store in the winter

when there is no work to be done at the farm.

There are many laws that everyone must follow. The punishments of breaking the law are very harsh.

I think the worst punishment is the Stocks. Everyone tries to follow the law as best as they can.

I don’t get in trouble that often . My older sister, Hannah, gets in trouble the most because she is older than the rest of us.

We are sent to our rooms when we are disciplined. We also apologize to our parents when we have made a bad choice.
