In chapter two they meet Old Yeller and call him a big yeller dog. The chapter is mainly focused on meeting Old Yeller.

CHAPTER THREEAS STILL AS A

TREEIn chapter three Travis goes hunting

an he has to sit in front of a tree covered with a grape vine and be really still so that the deer wont notice him.

CHAPTER FOURTHAT BULLS TALKING

FIGHTIn chapter four Travis, Mama, and

Little Arliss all watch a bull fight.

CHAPTER FIVEOLD YELLER TO THE

RESCUEChapter five is about Arliss getting in a

fight with a Mama bear because he tried to catch her cub. Old Yeller saved Arliss.

CHAPTER SIX ITS YOUR BIG YELLER DOG

In chapter six Bud Searcy and his granddaughter Lisbeth comes to visit and Lisbeth tells Travis that his dog is steeling food from people.

CHAPTER SEVENGET HIM YELLER!

Chapter seven is about Travis and Old Yeller staying up all night to keep the coons (raccoons) away from the corn.

CHAPTER EIGHTHIS NAME WAS BURN

SANDERSON

Chapter six is about Burn Sanderson coming to take Old Yeller because its his dog and warning Travis about hydrophobia (rabies). They made a trade and got to keep Old Yeller.

CHAPTER NINEOVERBIT THE RIGHT AND UNDERSLOPE THE LEFT

In chapter six Travis goes to mark the hogs and their families mark is an overbit and then an underslope.

CHAPTER TENA HORRIBLE SIGHT

Travis goes to mark more hogs that he missed but instead of climbing a tree to mark them me climbed up a dirt hill. He fell and got hurt by the hogs and Old Yeller got hurt really bad and Travis couldn’t look at the cut on Old Yellers stomach.

CHAPTER ELEVENBUMPY RIDE

Mama and Travis go back to help Old Yeller they carried him back on cow hide attached to Jumper and it wasn’t always a smooth ride.

CHAPTER TWELVEA LITTLE HELP

They get Old Yeller home and with Travis being unable to help Mama with chores Bud Searcy tells Lisbeth [his granddaughter] to stay and help Mama.

CHAPTER THIRTEENTHAT COWS GONE

MAD! Mama and Travis realize that spot

[their good milking cow] is acting strange and they think she’s gone mad.

CHAPTER FOURTEENSHE DIDN’T LOOK LIKE A COW

Travis had to shoot Spot and when he saw here he said that she was so starved she didn’t even look like a cow.

CHAPTER FIFTEENWE CANT TAKE THE CHANCE

Old Yeller got into a fight with a Loafer Wolf that had hydrophobia and it bit his so Mama thinks he gave it to Old Yeller so she needed Travis to shoot Old Yeller. Travis wants to wait but they cant take the chance.

CHAPTER SIXTEEN

THE START OF SOMETHING NEW

Without Old Yeller Travis was really sad and he felt like a part of him was missing. Until he saw the pup acting like Old Yeller.
