Sedlar’s Snipet Hello Emerson Families~
The good times just keep rolling here at Emerson Elementary! Our first
grade students had the opportunity to do a make-and-take Art project this past
week with Mrs. Bruder and Ms. Haber. Our 4th and 5
th grade students ventured
over to Owosso Middle School to view a Laura Ingalls-Wilder presentation and
our 5th grade students are two-thirds of the way finished with the M-STEP (the
new format of MEAP testing). The Fourth grade students will begin M-STEP test-
ing with a Class Activity on Monday and computer testing on Tuesday and
Thursday of next week. Our 3rd
grade students will begin testing the week of May
18th.
This is a friendly reminder that students that walk to school or get dropped
off in the mornings should not arrive earlier than 8:15 as we do not have supervi-
sion for them. Thank you for your help in ensuring that our students are as safe
as possible prior to start of the school day.
It’s not too late to register a child that is turning 5 by September 1st for
Kindergarten! If you or someone you know still need to register for Fall 2015
Kindergarten, please call any of the three elementary schools to set up a time to
bring the necessary paperwork and the child in to complete that process anytime
between now and the end of the school year.
The Spring Book Fair has come and gone! Thank you to Mrs. Teichman,
Mrs. Bensinger, Ms. Rose and Mrs. Vogl for the enormous efforts in getting
everything set up, making it run smoothly and tearing it all back down in one
weeks’ time! The next Book Fair will be in November during Parent-Teacher
Conferences.
The annual PTO Family Fun Night will be held on Friday, May 15th from
6:00-7:30. There are many items needed for donation. I will have a complete list
next week. I will also have a volunteer sign up as well. Please look right here
next week for more information.
I hope that you have a fun-filled weekend! As always… Go Tigers and GO
TROJANS!!!
Take Care~

Every year 3rd graders recreate them-
selves and take their flat selves with
them to get pictures of the adventures!
They are following Flat Stanley’s Project
adventures, a perennial favorite since
1994. The project engages 3rd graders
in geography, writing, art, culture and
communication skills among many other
skills needed to make this project fly!
The original Flat Stanley book was
written in 1964.
