CertificateParticipants will earn an Emerging Leader in Manufacturing Certificate after completion of 8 sessions. This certificate is worth up to 2.4 CEU’s (24 hours) or 28.8 CPE credits for eight sessions. Individual sessions are worth .3 CEU’s or 3.6 CPE credits.
Attendance and LocationEach session will be held at OSU-Tulsa, 700 North Greenwood Avenue, Tulsa, OK 74106. Specific room locations will be noted upon registration. All sessions will be held from 9 a.m. to noon.
Registration Fee and Materials$250 per session per person or a discounted fee of $2,000 for all 10 sessions per person (20% discount). For 3 or more attendees from the same company registered for all 10 sessions, $1,800 per person (28% discount). Fee includes assessments, case studies, instruction, materials, and refreshments each day.
As an emerging leader, you are transitioning from an individual contributor to a managerial role with more responsibility. This is a challenging career step. New managers are eager to face these challenges and this multi-day certificate program, offered over several months, will help you reflect on the leadership style that works best for you and your employees.
As you grow as a leader, it is important to have self-awareness and build your individual business skills and your leadership skills. You will also focus on developing, managing, and communicating within your team. The organizational development sessions will integrate elements to help you achieve your professional and organization’s goals.

OSU InstructorsRAJ BASU, PH.D., is on the Management faculty in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University. He researches and teaches in the areas of leadership, employee performance, team building and change management.
MATT BOWLER, PH.D., is an associate professor of management in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University and teaches management topics, including leading change, building social capital, leadership, compensation and benefits, employee and labor relations and management skills.
DAVE CARTER, PH.D., is the Greg Massey Professor of Finance in the Department of Finance at Oklahoma State University’s Spears School of Business where he teaches corporate finance. Dave has a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from BYU, an MBA from Utah State University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia. Prior to entering academia, Dave worked for Westinghouse Electric Corporation and Questar Pipeline Company.
KYLE EASTHAM is a lecturer in the School of Entrepreneurship in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University. He has more than 20 years of experience in state government. Kyle has spoken to groups all over the U.S. including the United States Navy, Social Security Administration and at various national conferences. He has masters’ degrees in entrepreneurship and public administration.
BRYAN EDWARDS, PH.D., is the Joe Synar Chair and associate professor of management in the Spears School of Business. He is an expert in selection, training, performance management, leadership, organizational development, and team effectiveness.
LINDSEY GRECO, PH.D., is an assistant professor in the Management Department of Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University. Her interests include counterproductive work behavior, social identity at work, and research methods.
LEE MANZER, PH.D., is an emeritus professor of marketing in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University. He has several years of practical experience as a chemist, sales representative and marketing research assistant for Dow Chemical Company. Dr. Manzer is a national recognized expert on service implementation. In addition, he has presented hundreds of seminars on topics such as attitude change, accountability and creating a service culture for a variety of national organizations and associations.
JAMES STAPP is a lecturer in the Department of Management in the Spears School of Business. He teaches Business Communication courses. His research interests include persuasive communication and the science of influence and decision making. He is passionate about helping current and future business leaders find their voice and master the communication skills necessary to overcome challenges and meet objectives.
TED WASHINGTON is an adjunct instructor in the Department of Management and is the Director of Supply Chain, TJ Maxx E-Commerce. He has established a reputation as an operational expert and superb turn-around leader. He is currently an Executive Ph.D. student in the OSU Spears School of Business.
