Emergent Sparkle Pupa by Jerry Hopewell Here is a pattern developed by Gary Lafontaine. It is meant to represent a caddis fly that is emerging and is just under the surface film of the stream. You would fish it as you would fish a dry fly. Hook: Dry fly sized to match the natural fly 12 to 18 Thread: 8/0 To match the color of Sparkle Yarn. Over and Under Body: Sparkle Yarn. This is a yarn that has CLEAR TRI-LOBAL FIBERS mixed in with a colored yarn. Body: Touch Dub, Sparkle Yarn chopped up in 1/8" pieces mixed with the under fur of a water animal about, 50/50. Tail: Use some of the butts from the over body or cut some of the over body. Wing: Deer Hair, under fur combed but not stacked. Thorax: Touch Dub Sparkle Yarn that is matted to the tying thread to make it opaque.

Here is a pattern developed by Gary Lafontaine. It is meant to represent a caddis fly that is emerging and is just under the surface film of the stream. You would fish it as

you would fish a dry fly.

The yarn is 4 ply. Separate the pieces using one for the top and one for the bottom for the over body and the underbody. Tie one on top and one on the underside of the hook

shank.

Put the sticky dubbing wax on the tying thread and touch dub your dubbing mixture.

Make your body and pull the upper and lower yarn for the over body.

Use your bodkin to tease the yarn into a bubble around the body. You can cut some of the top over wing for the tail or use some of the material butts. Select some Deer hair,

clean out the under fur and tie in on top for a wing.
