In case of emergency like fire and illegal work going on behind the doors of the hotel by illegal people ,then emergency procedure is followed by each and every hotel without creating any inconvinence to the guest staying in the hotel guest rooms
If possible attack the fire with suitable eqiupment , remembering to direct the exitnguishers at the base of the flames . Do not attemt to fight a fire if there is any danger of personal risk .
Close windows and switch off electrical appliances , including fans and lights.
Close the door to the affected area and report to your immediate supervisor for instructions .
Remain at the assemly point until instructed to do otherwise .
Do not use the lifts . immediately switch on the nearest fire alarm .
The initial assistance or treatment to a casualty for any injury or sudden illness before the arrival of an ambulance , doctor or other qualified person is called ‘ first aid’ . The notion of ‘first’ aid itself signifies that the casualty is likely need of ‘secondary aid’ .
Act calmly and logically . Be in control –both of himself / herself and
the problem . Be gentle but firm ,and speak to the
casualty kindly but purposefully. Explain to the casualty what he/she is going
to do . Continuously reassure the casualty .
Never separate a child from its parents or guardian.
Send the casualty to hospital or doctor by the quickest means of transport.
always inform the police about the serious accidents .
Inform the relatives of the casualty .
This is done by administering mouth to mouth respiration. Put your face close to the casualty mouth and look , listen and feel for breathing , it will generate a pulse in the neck where the main arteries pass up to the head . With the head tilted back, feel the adam’s apple with two fingers. Slide your fingers back towards you along the victim’s throat till it sits in the gap between the adam’s apple and the strap muscle; feel for the carotid pulse
Pinch and compress the nose to close the nostrils.
Take a deep breath . Place your mouth around the victim’s
mouth , making an airtight seal and quickly breath into the victim’s mouth four times .
Re-fill your lungs by inhaling deeply after this step. Fill the victim’s chest with air once every 5 seconds .
Watch the victim’s chest movement for rise and fall of chest .
Allow the patient to exhale .

Employee training : training in emergency procedures is essential to deal with emergencies .
Emergency resources : the names and telephone numbers of outside agencies that may be of help during an emergency need to be listed and kept in a prominent, accessible place .
Drill : fire emergency drill should be conducted periodically and it should be mandatory for all staff to attend these in shifts .
