Discovery: The Burren and the Cliffs of

Moher. Marvel at the Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland’sdazzling western coast, and its cliffs, sea caves,inlets and sweeping views of the Aran Islands andGalway Bay. In the Burren, discover one of the

world’s most unique landscapes, featuring a rocky plateau of karstic limestone formations and diverse plants. Enjoy an audiovisual presentationat the Burren Centre. Then, take an exclusiveguided walk through the Burren with local expertTony Kirby, as he shares fascinating geological,archaeological and botanical insights. After lunchin a family-run pub, continue to the portal tomb,Poulnabrone, a stark limestone monument builtbetween 2500-2000 B.C. Later, drive along thescenic coast to gaze at the Cliffs of Moher, rising700 feet above the Atlantic Ocean, and hear theenthralling sound of waves crashing below.

Aran Islands

Discovery: Aran Island of Inishmore. Take a ferry this morning and sail across Galway Bay to Inishmore, the largest of the Aran Islands. Likethe Burren, the island’s striking landscape is

defined by karst limestone. While exploring on aminibus, listen as your local guide shares storiesabout the island’s past and life today. Peoplehave lived here since roughly 3000 B.C., andStone Age monuments as well as Bronze Agestone forts can still be seen. Visit Dun Aengus,the most famous of these fort ruins. Enjoy lunchat a local restaurant during the tour.

Ferry back to the mainland and return to Ennis.

Killarney

Discovery: Dingle Peninsula. Depart for Killarney via the picturesque Dingle Peninsula.Take a short ferry ride from Killimer to Tarbert,and enjoy the coastline views from the water. By coach, continue through the towns of Traleeand Dingle, as you revel in panoramic mountainvistas and shoreline scenery on Slea Head Drive,one of Europe’s most captivating coastal roads.Stop for lunch at a restaurant along your routebefore visiting the Blasket Island Heritage Center,which honors the people who lived on these remote islands until the mid-1900s, as well as

their extraordinary literary legacy. Return to Dingle and spend free time exploring.

In Killarney, check in to the Great Southern Killarney.

Day 6 B

Killarney

Discovery: Killarney National Park and

Muckross House. Situated on the Ring ofKerry, Killarney National Park is an oasis of oakwoodlands and shimmering lakes at the foot ofthe MacGillycuddy’s Reeks mountain range. It isIreland’s first national park, encompassing morethan 25,000 acres. Ramble through the park on a leisurely ride in a traditional horse-drawncarriage called a jaunting car. Your “jarvey,” ordriver, will share local lore and history as youmake your way to see the 15th-century RossCastle. Later, board a cruiser to glide across the serene waters of the Killarney Lakes. Learnabout the park’s unique wildlife and historicalsites from the captain. Then, tour MuckrossHouse, a grand, 19th-century Victorian mansionthat boasts extensive gardens by the lakeshore.

Enrichment: Irish Whiskey. Tonight, delight in a whiskey tasting led by a local expert, and appreciate the complexity of Irish whiskey.

Ring of Kerry

Discovery: Ring of Kerry. Located on the Iveragh Peninsula, the circular drive of the Ring ofKerry is among the most beautiful coastal drivesin the world. View a pastoral region of Irelandseemingly untouched by time. Watch border collies bound through the fields and maneuver a

flock of sheep during a demonstration. Meet the local shepherd and ask questions about thedogs, farm life and the flock, which includes rarebreeds from around the world. Stop for lunch in Waterville, and relish the lovely views of the Atlantic Ocean before driving through the villagesof Caherdaniel and Sneem to Windy Gap andLadies View, the best spot to take in views of thepristine Killarney Lakes.

Mallow

Discovery: The Gift of the Gab. En route toMallow, visit Blarney Castle and see the famousBlarney Stone. Tradition holds that those whokiss the stone will be endowed with eloquence,or the gift of the gab. Over 60 acres of gardens,waterways and arboretums surround the Castle.

Check in to Longueville House, a family-ownedGeorgian country house set within a lovely 500-acre estate.

Admire the beauty and grace of thesebeloved equines, especially the frisky foals! Thenunwind as you meander through the sereneJapanese Gardens. Enjoy lunch at the farm.

Discovery: The Burren and the Cliffs of

Moher. Marvel at the Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland’sdazzling western coast, and its cliffs, sea caves,inlets and sweeping views of the Aran Islands andGalway Bay. In the Burren, discover one of the

world’s most unique landscapes, featuring a rocky plateau of karstic limestone formations and diverse plants. Enjoy an audiovisual presentationat the Burren Centre. Then, take an exclusiveguided walk through the Burren with local expertTony Kirby, as he shares fascinating geological,archaeological and botanical insights. After lunchin a family-run pub, continue to the portal tomb,Poulnabrone, a stark limestone monument builtbetween 2500-2000 B.C. Later, drive along thescenic coast to gaze at the Cliffs of Moher, rising700 feet above the Atlantic Ocean, and hear theenthralling sound of waves crashing below.

Aran Islands

Discovery: Aran Island of Inishmore. Take a ferry this morning and sail across Galway Bay to Inishmore, the largest of the Aran Islands. Likethe Burren, the island’s striking landscape is

defined by karst limestone. While exploring on aminibus, listen as your local guide shares storiesabout the island’s past and life today. Peoplehave lived here since roughly 3000 B.C., andStone Age monuments as well as Bronze Agestone forts can still be seen. Visit Dun Aengus,the most famous of these fort ruins. Enjoy lunchat a local restaurant during the tour.

Ferry back to the mainland and return to Ennis.

Killarney

Discovery: Dingle Peninsula. Depart for Killarney via the picturesque Dingle Peninsula.Take a short ferry ride from Killimer to Tarbert,and enjoy the coastline views from the water. By coach, continue through the towns of Traleeand Dingle, as you revel in panoramic mountainvistas and shoreline scenery on Slea Head Drive,one of Europe’s most captivating coastal roads.Stop for lunch at a restaurant along your routebefore visiting the Blasket Island Heritage Center,which honors the people who lived on these remote islands until the mid-1900s, as well as

their extraordinary literary legacy. Return to Dingle and spend free time exploring.

In Killarney, check in to the Great Southern Killarney.

Day 6 B

Killarney

Discovery: Killarney National Park and

Muckross House. Situated on the Ring ofKerry, Killarney National Park is an oasis of oakwoodlands and shimmering lakes at the foot ofthe MacGillycuddy’s Reeks mountain range. It isIreland’s first national park, encompassing morethan 25,000 acres. Ramble through the park on a leisurely ride in a traditional horse-drawncarriage called a jaunting car. Your “jarvey,” ordriver, will share local lore and history as youmake your way to see the 15th-century RossCastle. Later, board a cruiser to glide across the serene waters of the Killarney Lakes. Learnabout the park’s unique wildlife and historicalsites from the captain. Then, tour MuckrossHouse, a grand, 19th-century Victorian mansionthat boasts extensive gardens by the lakeshore.

Enrichment: Irish Whiskey. Tonight, delight in a whiskey tasting led by a local expert, and appreciate the complexity of Irish whiskey.

Ring of Kerry

Discovery: Ring of Kerry. Located on the Iveragh Peninsula, the circular drive of the Ring ofKerry is among the most beautiful coastal drivesin the world. View a pastoral region of Irelandseemingly untouched by time. Watch border collies bound through the fields and maneuver a

flock of sheep during a demonstration. Meet the local shepherd and ask questions about thedogs, farm life and the flock, which includes rarebreeds from around the world. Stop for lunch in Waterville, and relish the lovely views of the Atlantic Ocean before driving through the villagesof Caherdaniel and Sneem to Windy Gap andLadies View, the best spot to take in views of thepristine Killarney Lakes.

Discovery: The Gift of the Gab. En route toMallow, visit Blarney Castle and see the famousBlarney Stone. Tradition holds that those whokiss the stone will be endowed with eloquence,or the gift of the gab. Over 60 acres of gardens,waterways and arboretums surround the Castle.

Check in to Longueville House, a family-ownedGeorgian country house set within a lovely 500-acre estate.
