Enhanced Support for CM Station Lock feature (requires Communication Manager 5.2 )

– Previously when user presses Station Lock feature button only CM features would be locked. Now CM features are locked PLUS:

• Redial, Call Log, Contacts, Avaya Menu are not accessible, although Call Logging continues behind the scenes.

• USB Devices trigger "Locked" screen if inserted, unless USB Login included.

• Rebooting Locked phone comes back as unlocked.

Answer Hold"/"Answer Drop"– Scenario: user on an Active call, gets Incoming call

– Phone screen auto-scrolls to call appearance for Incoming call, as normal

– Difference is softkeys:

New:

Old:

– "Return" confused users, so was replaced with better soft keys.

PIN Code calls are "logged" in Call Log– Call consists of FAC + PIN + destination number, as normal– Requires CM Telephony Server 5.2 (otherwise Call Log logs all digits)– Log Number is hidden FAC (displayed as asterisks)– Pressing Call for PIN Call dials only FAC– Log Name is "PIN Call"– PIN calls are never saved in Call Log backup data

Edit Dialing– Requires CM Telephony Server 5.2 (otherwise user has normal on-hook dialing) – User initiates by pressing dialpad digit when on-hook– CM signals telephone to do Edit Dialing– New UI collects digits, allows Backspace, Cancel, etc. – Displayed digits get dialed when user:

• Goes off-hook (via handset, speaker, or headset)• Presses Send softkey (from new UI)• Presses OK button

– Default is Enabled; user can disable via Call Settings option under ‘A’ menu button

Redirected Calls can now be filed in Missed Call Log on the phone– Applies to calls that are redirected by CM and do not “touch” the actual phone (e.g. Call

Forward)

– Requires CM 5.2 , which sends message with details for inclusion in phone's Call Log

– Must set LOGUNSEEN in settings file to "1" (default = "0")

Present feature buttons on 9630/40 call appearance list– Displays feature buttons on otherwise-unused lines of Call Appearance screen

– Presented as "half-width" lines, right justified (to differentiate FBs from CAs)

– Must set FBONCASCREEN in settings file to "1" (default = "0")

Call Log data is stored in standard ext_96xxdata.txt backup file– All data saved for each entry, whenever data changes (new call, user deletes an entry,

etc.)

– Default is Enabled; to disable set LOGBACKUP in settings file to "0" (default = "1")

– Only applies to HTTP backup files. (HTTPS “being considered!”)

– “Backup Successful” message NOT displayed (Backup Unsuccessful message remains)

Auto-deletion after call back from Missed Call Log

– Only works for pressing Call from Call Log screen

– Must set CLDELCALLBK in settings file to "1" (default = "0")

OPSTAT2

– OPSTAT is an existing 46xxsettings feature that allows admins to disable phone customisation

– Overrides OPSTAT for one specific case:

• When set to "1", allows changes to customized labels in backup file to be displayed

• Intent: allow administrator to customize labels even if user cannot

– Set in 46xxsettings file, default is disabled ("0")

Missed Call Counter in Missed Call Log– Calls from the same Number are displayed once, with counter (1-99) on right

end of entry on Main Screen, and on Details

– Must set LOGMISSEDONCE in settings file to "1" (default = "0")

New USB features (called Value of IP, or VIP) USB Login

– Allows user to insert USB device into phone and automatically login to a specific IP address with a specific Extension and Password.

– Password can be stored as encrypted– Will override existing login– Existing logon (if any) is “remembered” on phone so when USB is removed existing

login returns

USB Picture Frame– Allows user to have multiple jpg files from USB stick to serve as a screensaver– Overrides default (Avaya) or SCREENSAVER – Like other screen savers:

• *.jpeg files must fit phone screen• Obeys SCREENSAVERON and idle timers

– Valid jpg files shown in sequence, 5 seconds each, unless otherwise administered in USB profile

– User can force the USB screensaver by A button > My Pictures– Pictures remain on USB and are never downloaded to phone

9670 Administration/Support Considerations

Local CRAFT procedures are essentially the same– Text entry in CRAFT: Bksp softkey (on-screen) replaces left navigation button.

– Screens with Right/Left “choice indicator”: ◄ and ► softkeys (on-screen) replace left/right navigation buttons.

– Select item in a list by direct on-screen press of that line

On CM 4.0 and above, alias as 9630 (9640 or 9650 also OK). For system-wide alias (change alias station command) use 9630 (9640 not allowed) Prior to CM 4.0, alias as 4620/4625

8 Quick Touch Panel buttons map to buttons 4-11 on CM station admin form. (First row 4-7, second row 8-11, Unassigned buttons not shown & gaps closed up)

SBM24s not initially supported (being considered for future)

Addition of CALIBRATE SCREEN command in main list:– Allows calibration of touch screen

– Stylus required for proper calibration

– Calibration should not be necessary in the field

The Future Begins96xx SIP Survivability

1. Phones register with multiple call controllers (SIP Proxies) in a variety of redundancy models.

2. Phones automatically determine and adapt to the capabilities supported by call controllers.

3. Phones monitor availability of those controllers, taking action to preserve service when network or equipment conditions affect availability.

4. Phone select the highest-priority available controller to be the active call controller for the phone.

5. When possible, enable calls-in-progress to continue when the controller used to establish them is no longer available.

6. Emergency calling; phones in logged-out state continuously monitor availability of server for emergency service. (‘anonymous user’)

User Experience during Failover Transition

Failover will not happen during an active call. If the media path is still available, calls started via the primary call server will be maintained during failover. Failover/back is deferred until the phone is idle.

User has no control over failure mode – Failover/back is automatic Telephone display provides an indication of Failover Operation, by

displaying“Link recovery. Limited phone service. Calls may be lost.” No applications are currently available.

Held calls are lost during transition Transfers are lost during transition Conference call may be lost during transition Incoming calls during transition may be killed Softkey labels are removed from the display for any feature or operation

that is not supportable without the primary call server. Any AST feature invocation will fail

CM Version 5.0 SP 2 with special application SA8567 PHS/DECT OVER IP plus tracking licenses every used DECT handset

– For multi location installations CM 5.1 incl. (SA9004) Multi-Location Call Routing for IP-Trunk is required

Next generation IP DECT infrastructure is incompatible with current IP DECT infrastructure (RFP 32 / 34)

– Next generation IP DECT handsets can be used with current infrastructure in GAP/CAP modus

– Next generation IP DECT infrastructure requires a green field infrastructure installation, no mixture of current and next generation infrastructure!
