Zip2• In 1995, Musk and his brother Kimbal created his first IT company Zip2.• He took $28000 from his father to start the company.• Musk obtained contracts with New York Times and the Chicago

Tribune.• In 1999, Compaq bought Zip2 for $307 million in cash and $34

million in Securities (stock).

X.Com & PayPal• In 1999, Musk starts X.Com – an online bank(with his own money)• In March 2000, merges with rival company Confinity forming PayPal.• Musk got ousted as CEO from PayPal.• Then PayPal got acquired by eBay for $1.5 billion in Stock of which $165

million was given too Musk.

SpaceX

• In 2002, Musk started a company SpaceX to build his own rockets

• He wants to build the affordable rockets to fulfil his “MARS OASIS” project.

• In SpaceX, he invested US$100 million in early fortune.

• After three times failure of Launch in rockets, in 2008 he was running out of Cash.

• On Sept 2008, Fourth time his launch succeeds.

• And on Dec 2008, he wins NASA contract for 12 flights for $1.6 billion.

TESLA•In 2003, Musk meets JB Straubel, (Electric Car Enthusiast).•January 2004, he meets TESLA founders Martin Eberhard & Marc Tarpenning.•April 2004, he Invests in Tesla and becomes Chairman suggesting JB and Tesla founders work together.•In 2008, first Tesla customers get their Roadsters at $109000•And in 2009, Musk unveils the first Tesla Model S, 2012 he unveils Model X (SUV)•On 2012 launches Super Charger Network (for long distance driving).
