Begin mantra of IO PAN, IO PAN, IO PAN, PAN, PAN and Begin N.O.X. signs as per Crowley's Star Ruby, but in the form of a slowly spinning dance, in the same

direction you turned for the four quadrants. Perform at least three sequences of N.O.X. signs in this fashion. Stop in beginning position, resume Horse. Proclaim:

Center, with hands on thighs, and begin the vowel vibrations from UUUUUU(RRRR)! on up to IIIIEEEEEE!

Hands or Weapon to lips, and AEPELIZAGE! as you began. Comments: The structure of this rite is derived from the Star Ruby, and I find it fine, so I left the frame. However, much has been altered, and I'll explain why. I'm fond of my Demons, so I don't fancy sending them away. It took me years to make them. Therefore, Aepelizage, which means, in Ouranian Barbaric, 'Immanentize the Eschaton'(bring about the end of the world), a concept I'm fond of. In this case, the end of the world is that of John Grey, the Flat People, Mr. Roboto and Mr. Clean. You begin with this statement to separate from 'normal' consciousness. The use of the Horse stance (ask any Martial Artist to show you) is manifold. First, we don't usually stand like this, so again, a work of separation and distancing. Second, it lowers the center of balance, and puts a measure of strain on the body, which helps keep the discursive mind occupied. 'I am uncomfortable' is not thought that greatly hinders magick. This strain is an important part of the rite, so seek it out, don't avoid it. Keeping 'centered' is the only way I know of describing a bodymind state I am looking for. The mind is (relatively) quiet, the body is still, you are focused, but not pressured. Nothing is happening, Nothing at all. (See Zen, if you have trouble with this.) Also, the shifts into action and vocalization are more severe if one is calm and center when one is not in motion. The Vowel mantra's serve to open up the energy centers of the bodymind and allow blockages to be opened. This is not the main thrust of the rite as it is written, so we do not linger long. Also, works to silence the deepmind, and by stopping on the groin/U sound, lowers the center of gravity. This is a good thing when the rite starts really working. The Chaos signs begin to redefine the working space, and your relation to the bit of the world you are in. John Grey is almost defined by his acceptance of consentual reality, and is often tyranized by it. The Sorcerer is in a continuing

state of co-creation/co-destruction of perceived reality, and the drawing of the Chaos sigil states that what is before him is highly mutable. The spiral, moving sunwise (clockwise) from the center out, is a sign of invokation, of the drawing in and expansion of possibility into the sorcerer's sphere of influence. To Banish/Devoke, start at the outside and move in, anti-sunwise (counter-clockwise) thereby denying Time and Space to whatever it is you seek to banish. The sensoria should be that of pulling-expanding or pushing- contracting. The "Godnames" are perceived as 'natural' forces or drives in the Multiverse, or as 'Gods' if you're pervy. Put your own up, unless you prefer mine, it changes everything, but then that's the idea... The NOX dance is an act of seduction in acts of Invokation, violation/rape in Banishing/Devokation. In either case, it is a play of creation in the rite: one does not 'generate' or 'destroy' anything, one transmutes and transforms the raw materials already present to suit one's will. Or for the hell of it....Or maybe so it can then kick your ass...I forget, sometimes. For invokation, one can continue to spin/dance and chant, if you keep up the I O PAN you'll probably get goat-type forms, and is recomended for atavistic resurgence and Baphomet. Otherwise, shift the mantra to suit the outcome desired. To charge a sigil or consecrate an object, you can stop short of Possession, and focus the energies present into the sigil/object. Again, 'or not'...I like to have possessing entities charge these things. They seem to enjoy it as well. The elements, take, modify, discard. Mainly they help to define space. Other options include Invoking the element as opposed to (or along with) the 'Godform', perhaps creating a Gate in that quadrant and talking a walk on through, or calling up an elemental, whatever.

The Mass of Choronzonby Pete Carrol

An Invocation of the personal ego or false Holy Guardian Angel, for the purpose of casting ones entire will as an Enchantment upon reality. Such an operation would normally qualify as an extreme act of black magic, were it not prefaced by an initial invocation of the formless Kia or real Holy Guardian Angle. The essential purpose of the conjuration as a whole is to increase the dominian of ones ego over the world in the hope of bringing the formless life force of the Kia more fully into play. The ritual is traditionally performed with a wand to exemplify will, although other instruments can be used, or improvisation made with the clenched fist if necessary. The invocations are in the Enochian language and represent in part, adaptions of the calls of the first and tenth Enochian Aethers, and consist of eleven and thirty three words each. Unlike the Mass of Chaos B (Baphomet Conjuration), this ritual cannot be aimed to enchant for any specific desire and has the property of tending to phenomenise the desires of the ego at random. Herein lies its use and its danger. You may only realise what it was you wanted when it arrives. The ritual must therefore be considered as partly an act of Divination. Following the statement of intent, the Kia is first invoked by an incantation, a mantra and a brief period of complete mental silence. It would be both blasphemous and catastrophic to attempt to conceptualise Kia as other than a formless pregnant void. The god/daemon form of Choronzon is manifested by a visulisation of ones self in the form of ones grossly hypertrophied ego whilst the incantation is given. The ritual is concluded with three simultaneous acts. A lightening flash in the form of the solar sig or sigil or sowulo victory rune is visualised flashing down from ones head to the ground, a loud martial arts Kia is shouted and the wand is struck against the ground. Laughter banishing then follows.

The Gnostic Thunderbolt

Purpose:The Gnostic Thunderbolt is a mutation of, and can be used interchangeably with, the Gnostic Pentagram Ritual. Its purpose is to imbue motivation and momentum to the participants, whilst banishing unwanted influences at the same time. It is highly recommended for opening a temple, and as a preliminary to other work, but is not well applied to healing aims.

Description: 9. Inhale. Starting just beyong the head, either shoulder, or either hip, draw the first point of the Thunderbolt.

Simultaneously, visualize a blue sphere lighting up between the eyes, and sending a thread of light to the point. Vibrate "Iiiiii..." in a high-pitched tone until the lungs are emptied.

10. Inhale. Trace a straight line from shoulder to opposite shoulder or hip, or from the head to either hip. Visualize a yellow sphere lighting up in the throat,sending a thread of light to the second point. Vibrate "Eeee..." in a slightly lower tone.

11. Inhale. Trace a second line, again as if drawing a pentagram. Visualize a red sphere in the center of the chest, and sending its light to the third point. Vibrate "Ahhh..." in a tone lower than the previous vibration.

12. Inhale. Trace a third line. Visualize a purple sphere in the genital area, sending its light to the fourth point. Vibrate "Ohhh..." in a lower tone.

13. Inhale. Trace the fourth line. Visualize a green sphere encircling the feet and disappearing into the ground, and sending its thread to the fifth point. Vibrate "Oooo...".

14. Do not draw the closing bar of the pentagram! Instead, remain completely motionless and hold your breath for as long as possible. Concentrate your attention fixedly on the sound of your blood rushing through your carotid arteries. Know that the rumbling you hear is the eternal explosion of the Thunderbolt. You are part of the thunderbolt, moving endlessly and mindlessly onward.

15. Continue to hold the image and sound in the mind while holding your breath. When you finally must breathe, envision the thunderbolt fragmenting with a tremendous roar and sending octarine sparks into and through you.

16. Repeat the seven steps above, drawing the thunderbolts about you to describe a 3-dimensional shape of whatever kind suits you.

17. Declaration of intent, ie "We will that we never end where we had begun. We will that we shall begin."

Techniques Employed:Breath control, sound concentration, image concentration, sound vibration.

THE VORTEX RITE

What is a Vortex?A vortex is a wormhole or pocket universe created by a Chaos Magician for any number of purposes. It is the willful manifestation of a whirlpool of magickal energy and a radical distortion of time and space. It may also serve to fold space in such a way as to create a magickal "shortcut" between any number of points in mundane space/time. The process of creating the vortex is itself a mimicry of the manifestation of various dualities out of the primal chaos. Due to legalities imposed by the Illuminates of Thanateros (IOT), I am unable to post the Vortex Rite in its original form, as penned by Peter Carroll. The version found here corrects a major error in the original form which, if followed, manifests aeons of religion and science and demanifests Pandaemonaeon if followed (see the closure herein versus the original, if you can find it). Please be aware that the IOT has stated that it will not tolerate reproduction of the flawed original in any medium, and reserves the right to litigate against any individual or group that does so. You've been warned.

The Rite 18. Stand up. 19. Take a few good, deep breaths. Relax. 20. Stomp your left foot and cry out HUT (meaning "start") 21. Extend both index fingers and bring them together in front of you. Say XIQUAL UDINBAK, which means

roughly "manifest chaos". Visualize a point of light at your fingertips. 22. Separate the fingers so that you draw a vertical line before you. Say XIQUAL UZARFE, D'KYENG. This

means, roughly, "manifest aethyr, Planck's constant". Aethyr is buzzing with potential, Planck's constant is total contraction. Visualize the astrological symbol for Saturn at the top of the vertical line, and the Greek letter "psi" at the bottom.

23. Bring the index fingers back together, but keep visualizing the lines and the symbols at either end. 24. Draw a line with the fingertips perpendicular to the first line, saying XIQUAL KUDEX, EACHT (roughly,

manifest light and darkness). At either end of the line, visualize, respectively, a sphere of light and one of total blackness.

25. Repeat step 6. 26. Draw another line at a 45ş angle to the first two. Say XIQUAL ASHARA, DIJOW - roughly, manifest fire

and air (they also mean energy and time, respectively). A variety of symbols can be used to represent the two, including personally-created sigils. The alchemical triangles are suggested.

27. Repeat step 6. 28. Draw a fourth line perpendicular to the line in step 9, with the phrase XIQUAL THALDOMA, NOBO

(roughly, water and earth, or space and mass). Visualize the appropriate symbol at either end of this line as well.

29. Take your time, and make sure that you can fully visualize all of the lines and symbols. Don't try to control color; just let it come to you as it will (this is one way to discover your octarine).

30. Say XIQUAL ONGATHAWAS (manifest the vortex), and make a gesture with your left hand which suggests setting a wheel spinning to you. This can range from the twitch of a finger to the sweep of an arm.

31. Use your breath to speed up the initial spin. With each inhalation and exhalation, make the whirl go faster and faster. Keep doing this until it appears 3-dimensional, as if you could thrust your arm into it.

32. Your vortex is now open! Shout out XIQUAL CHOYOFAQUE (manifest the work of chaos), or, if so inclined, some other phrase. It can be in any language you choose. It really doesn't matter (this is true of all the steps outlined. Using a weird tongue like Ouranian Barbaric helps distract the conscious mind, and thus the psychic censor).

33. Go about whatever business you've set out to do. 34. When you're all finished with your vortex, strengthen your vision of it once more.

35. Point the index finger of your left hand at it and query ANGBIX (how?) Then your middle finger and ask POHUTH? (why)?, and finally your thumb with the question WOKAC? (what?). These are the three basic questions of materialism/science, spirituality/religion, and magick, respectively, per Carroll's aeonic theories.

36. See the triangle formed by the three outstretched fingers? Visualize it as a sort of volume control, a solid triangle. Turn the "knob" counterclockwise to shut the vortex off, with a shout of AEPALIZAGE "immanentize the eschaton."

Using a tone of voice matched to the intent of the working(s) to follow the vortex does better for me. Any number of personal inflections are possible throughout this rite.

CREEPY-CRAWL CHAMELEON RITEa Method of Not Being Noticed

Introduction: An Occulting Primer Fear and Self-Confidence Getting the Fear brings on a hyper awareness of one's outside environment (and a dramatic heightening of all of one's physical and psychic senses) when raised to a pitch nearing terror by survival instincts. This is the definition of pathic paranoia. The purpose of deliberately inducing fear in oneself is to increase awareness and, although somewhat unpredictably, speed in performing acts of an embarrassing or "not quite legal" sort. This method however, when it is the only one used, tends to attract notice rather than detract from it. Self-Confidence, when intentionally induced into an unlikely situation, brings non-awareness, enabling the operator to continue unhampered by fear of divulgence. This is effectively used in acts of a self-righteous sort, in which the operator sees the act as a "god-given right", despite societal taboos to the contrary. An artificial superiority complex is one such example of a self-induced confidence trick to hide unpreparedness, inability, embarrassment and so on. There is also the art of Blending In that often includes both of these, and is the primary result of both when attempting to become invisible. The act of inspiring confusion in mob situations is included in the art of blending in, as it makes any and all actions by a single or well orchestrated group seem of little importance compared to the actions of a confused and/or panicking mob. Therefore, one or all of these factors must be included in any operation whose purpose is to cast a glamour of invisibility on any person, place, or thing. The following ritual outline can be used in any situation in which hostile discovery might be the result. Invisibility should not be the only objective therefore, and so a cloak of silence is also implied. Smell of course is fairly simple to conceal, and is used to advantage by covering up or removing it. The aim of the ritual then is complete invisibility, to include ultimately psychic manipulation of the surrounding area of operation; creating a warp in the fabric of perception to hide an unaccustomed weave. As with any modus operandi, practice makes perfect, and therefore operators are advised to adapt the ritual to fit any circumstance. The Creepy Crawl Chameleon Rite is best performed by a group whilst a single individual speaks the Enochian invocation.

CREEPY-CRAWL CHAMELEON RITEPreliminary:

A few moments of silence and relaxed awareness of one's surroundings. The operators then see the smoky darkness dissipate as all that is within the working area begins to "fold". The unfolding process is completed by laughter whilst spinning quickly deosil, high speed, to a full stop.

Cloud EyeBackground Noise This rite is loosely based upon a belief found in Hawaiin legends. In these legends, it was said that the gods and sorcerers (kupua) possessed not one, but many bodies, and could transfer their essence between these bodies as circumstances warranted. Thus, there were tree bodies, human bodies, rainbow bodies, animal bodies and cloud bodies. One body could sometimes be shared by several kupua, and a single kupua might have several bodies of each type. Purpose The aim of this working is to transfer perception to another body - in this case, the cloud body. It can be thought of as an "out of one body and into another" experience. 47. When tunnel vision again sets in, close the eyes and open them again quickly. Look down over the terrain that passes below your cloud-eye. Note details if desired, but do not attempt to influence direction or speed of motion. All control of these should be left to the wind.

48. When you have achieved your desired results, switch out of the passive mode and attempt to influence direction or speed. Find yourself back in your human body looking up at the clouds.

THE RITE OF FIREThe purpose of this rite is to invoke the archetypical fire spirit into one's own being, the formula to keep in mind being Fire = Energy = Motivation. The gnosis to be employed is sheer physical exhaustion. All participants must put out as much energy as they are capable of doing without harming themselves permanently. The statement of intent is embodied in the invocation itself, and can be changed to suit one's own needs.

50. The leader of the rite and assistants (if any) administer a sacrament of bread, "wine" and the ointment. All should be charged in whatever manner one desires before the rite begins. For the wine, we used Bacardi 151 with some appropriate food coloring; the ointment we have used was Tiger Balm applied to the temples. The recipe we used for the bread will be found hereafter.

51. The leader and assistants play on flute, drum and rattle. The tempo begins slowly and builds. All participants dance, envisioning them- selves as motes of fire in a huge flame. No holding back!!!

52. The leader screams the following invocation:

The bread sacrament was prepared as follows: ˝ cup yellow corn meal1 teaspoon salt3/4 teaspoon sugar1˝ tablespoons clarified butter (ghee)

Mix together in a bowl; pour over it 3/4 cup of boiling water; beat in one egg. Add 2 teaspoons Vietnam-style hot garlic sauce. Drop by tablespoons onto a greased cookie sheet and cook for 15 minutes in an oven at 400°. This makes enough for a dozen cookies. They're quite volatile.

Prinn's Lightning0) Assume your usual meditative state. For those of you who do not regularly meditate, this exercise will be more difficult, but not impossible. 1) Begin by regulating your breathing. Your breathing should be even and natural, and you should pay attention to the feeling of the air sliding in and out of your lungs. Take your time and settle yourself into your position until you feel balanced and relaxed. 2) Now, since you are already focussing on the friction of air passing in and out of your lungs, note also how cool it feels, cool and dry. Feel that coolness and dryness spreading out from your lungs through your veins, slowly permeating your torso. When the coolness reaches your limbs, take note of how they affect your hands and feet. Feel the coolness and dryness permeate your limbs, then your aura. As this coolness reaches your aura, take note of how IT feels when it cools in response to your breath. 3) In this cool, dry aura, seek out and feel the static electricity. Find its center, then will it to grow. The cool dry air passing in and out of your body causes the friction that intensifies this electricity, and you will note the effects of your breath on the level of electricity you sense. Feel the electricity responding to your breath, tingling on your skin, crackling along your veins and arteries like copper cables. 4) At this point, you will notice that your attention on the electricity alerts you to a change in your aura. Note how different it feels, the intensification of your body's electromagnetic field. Note how it pulls at some things in your environment while pushing at others, and make a note of what sort of objects are affected by this field. Continue "winding up" the electric charge in your body as long as you can, as intensely as you can. 5) Having chosen ahead of time an object into which to release this energy, focus now on how that object feels in response to the field of electricity around you. Does it pull or push? As you continue to breathe, make note of what sort of intent makes the object pull upon your field. Breathe a little deeper as you feel the object pulling at you. The above exercise is largely an astral experience. However, I recommend practice with a compass at first. With only a small amount of practice, one should be able to affect the motion of the needle. This ability may be developed to affect electonic and/or electical machines, and with practice perhaps much further. Even without such obvious results, this exercise is useful for the destruction of targets on the astral plane. Repeated often enough, the astral image will affect the physical image. Keep in mind that, as with any combat magic, magicians are damned hard to kill due to the fact that they regularly make use of larger amounts of energy than your average human. In this case we are dealing with the internal mental aspect. There is a voice inside our minds that thinks and speaks too much in many situations and draws us far from what we may already know. I think the answer to most of the un answered questions in our heads is not often found in long chains and labyrinths of psycho-babble thought, but the answer itself can usually be found in what we already know. . . but I don't really know. Sigil Preparation: All participants will create a personal sigil concerning something of themselves that often requires too much thought, or an aspect of self that undergoes a lot of self-criticism.
