InDesign
Page layout programs are used when a designer has a multipage document to produce. Simple multipage documents can use Adobe Illustrator. Illustrator features artboards that can be exported as PDF files for printing. This software is useful for short documents (not more than 4 pages). For longer multipage documents, a better software choice is Adobe InDesign.
InDesign
Designers can create work in any software application, but for multipage documents with a lot of text, it is best to use a program designed for working with page layouts.

InDesign
Page layout programs, such as InDesign, make it mush easier to place images and get graphics to "stay put" on a page, wrap text around them, and control them.

InDesign allows a designer to “package” files when the project is complete and ready to go to press.
Packaging gathers up all of the files used in the design – including images and fonts – and puts them in a single folder that can then be sent to the printer.

InDesign is an industry standard software. Most printers will not accept or print files created in Microsoft Office.

Another benefit to using InDesign is a better control over typography.
InDesign features tools for character control (kerning, leading, tracking) as well as styles (headers, subheads, callouts).
Better type control leads to stronger designs with more effective messaging.
