ABSTRACTThe goal was to build an Electric Vacuum Cleaner and compare if it

works better with a 9V Battery and 12V Battery together. I concluded that the much more amount of volts could destroy the machine and also with just a 9V battery the machine works more effectively and easily. The weight also deals with how it works The reason why less and more volts were added to compare if with both batteries the machine functions better. Starting with 10 small pieces of paper absorb by the vacuum cleaner. The speed was measured and compared. Materials used to build the vacuum cleaner were: Cardboard canister, 2 liter bottle, Plastic pipe tube, DC Motor, 9V Battery, 9V Battery Clip, Switch, Cloth, Two Popsicles Sticks, One water bottle cap, Red tape, and Black tape.

ABSTRACT(Continued)

Two different batteries were added towards the build of the vacuum cleaner in a certain time. The Electric Vacuum Cleaner effectivity surpasses with a 9V battery and 12V Battery. Materials such as: Cardboard canister, 2 liter bottle, Plastic pipe tube, DC Motor, 9V Battery, 9V Battery Clip, Switch, Cloth, Two popsicles sticks, One water bottle cap, Red tape, Black tape, and a 12V battery added before finishing building the whole electric vacuum cleaner. It was determined that the vacuum cleaner functions easily with only a 9V battery. In that specific method both have different speed. Adding the 9V battery and 12V battery the electric vacuum cleaner starts with the same speed, but only leaving the 9V battery alone the speed reduces which makes the vacuum cleaner absorb more small pieces of paper but adding the 12V battery, the vacuum cleaner speed is a very high which it could be dangerous for the function of the machine which could be destroyed.

PROCEDUREThe materials used building the vacuum cleaner were: ▶Cardboard canister▶ 2 liter Empty Bottle▶Plastic Pipe Tube▶DC Motor▶9V Battery▶9V Battery Clip▶Switch▶Cloth▶Two Popsicles Sticks▶One Water bottle cap▶Red Tape▶Black Tape

PROCEDURE(Continued)

▶The first step was putting the DC Motor, 9V battery, 9V battery clip and Switch together with welding soldering iron heat pencil and soldering wire.

▶Second step was making a hole on the bottom of the Cardboard canister where the DC Motor would fit, also making 6 hole on the bottom endings. Also added red tape around the Cardboard canister and added black tape around the Plastic pipe tube.

▶Third step was making a larger hole on the top of the cardboard canister top, right on the middle, for the plastic pipe tube to fit in.

▶Fourth step was adding hot glue around the pipe tube on the cardboard canister cap. ▶Fifth step was using two Popsicle sticks cut into 4 pieces 1 inch into a water bottle cap and added

hot glued, at the end would become a small fan that is also part of the DC Motor functioning. ▶The sixth step was to cut the bottom and top side of a 2 liter bottle, which only the middle part

would be left and also become the inside of the cardboard canister where the small pieces of paper would be absorb.

▶The seventh step was adding cloth towards the bottom of the middle part of water bottle which was taped around with red tape.

Methods▶The first step after building the electric vacuum cleaner was adding 10 - 15 small

pieces of paper on the side. ▶Second step was making the plastic pipe tube absorb the most small pieces of

paper. ▶Third step was to analyzed if the vacuum cleaner absorbs more small pieces of

paper with both 9V battery and 12V Battery or just 9V battery alone.▶Fourth step was counting the number of pieces absorb by the vacuum cleaner

with 9V Battery and 12V Battery. Also count the number of small pieces of paper absorb by a 9V battery. ▶Fifth step was record the speed. ▶Sixth step was to repeat the same procedure again. Different speeds but same

effectivity. Both of the experiments were performed in the same place. The experiment could have been improved if more trials were performed.

Page 11: ELECTRIC VACUUM CLEANER

CALCULATION▶12V Battery and 9V Battery together: Speed higher and

dangerous. Absorb 10 small pieces of paper in 5 seconds

▶9V Battery itself: Speed lower and safe. Absorb 10 small pieces of paper in 10 seconds.

▶10 - 15 small pieces of paper

Page 12: ELECTRIC VACUUM CLEANER

CONCLUSION

The hypothesis was accurate. The less volts the vacuum cleaner carries, works more effectively and absorbs more small pieces of paper without affecting the machine. While with more volts the machine dangers from destroying itself. Pressure level inside the vacuum cleaner is lower than pressure of outside. Large battery unbalanced the electric vacuum. It all depends on the battery.
