The company was incorporated in 1994 in Belgium and specializes in telecommunications including all embarked andshorebased IT applications, navigation, sea survey and observations. The company was taken over by the S.&S.S. groupin 2007.

They have established themselves as a totally reliable service centre for their own official requirements and are alsocalled upon regularly when official service is not available for other equipment. They are also Consultants, installequipment, rent equipment and airtime services.

Astron obtained from the Belgian Institute of Post and Telecommunications and the ITU in Geneva an AccountingAuthority License. They are an official INMARSAT – Iridium – Thuraya Service Provider.

Shore based maintenance contracts to major shipping companies for their GMDSS equipment maintenance is offered.

Technicians are available 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

PROFILESaierNico was founded in 1994 and specializes in designing and manufacturing marine switchboards and other electrical productsfor ships and ocean engineering. The company employs over 500 people and the factory covers an area of 26,700 m2. In 2009more than 250 ship sets of switchboards are delivered and they realize sales nearly 40 million US Dollars. From 1994 to 2009, theyhave delivered over 900 ship sets of switchboards. They are one of the largest marine switchboard suppliers in China.

The new products have been used for many projects, such as 176000DWT bulk carriers, 118000 DWT bulk carriers, 115000 DWTbulk carriers, 92500 DWT bulk carriers, 4250TEU container vessels, 11300DWT Ro-Ro vessels, 114000 DWT crude oil tankers,57000 bulk carriers, 16500DWT product oil/chemical tankers, 32500 DWT bulk carriers, etc.

SaierNico has developed MB301 marine switchboard together with Schneider Electric and manufactured MV MC-set marineswitchboard licensed with Schneider Electric.

The new founded company-Zhenjiang SaierNico Automation Ltd is the only partner of Eekels Elektrotechniek B.V. (Netherlands) inChina. The E/R Alarm and Monitoring Systems and switchboards which they cooperate with Eekels have already been used foralmost one hundred ships.
