    Council of Science Museums (NCSM) which is engaged in

    popularizing Science and Technology amongst students inparticular and the masses in general, through a wide range ofactivities and interactive programs.

    MAIN OBJECTIVES

    To popularize Science and Technology in cities, urban

    and rural areas for the benefit of students and thecommon men. To portray the growth of science and technology and

    their application in human welfare, develop scientificattitude and temper and general awareness amongst thepeople.

    To organize exhibitions, seminars, popular lectures,science camps/shows and other programs.

    To collect, restore and preserve important historicalobjects which represent landmarks in the development ofscience, technology.

    To develop and fabricate science museum exhibits, forscience education and popularization of science.

    SITE PLANNING AND LANDSCAPE

    One of its kind in the state.

    Similar large campus of Govt institution. Location is isolated and is far away from organized settlement. Contours are harnessed and wisely used for landscaping. Nearest bus stop is about 2-3 kms away. Slums settlement around the periphery of site. Distance from nearby market about 5-6kms. Black cotton soil on site. Distinct variety of vegetation in landscape with gardens a

    open sit out provided.

    Pavements done using locally available red stones. Contours used to avoid direct sun. Artificial water body provided. Shadow all around depending on the time of the day.

    CAMPUSThe Regional Science Center is unique in whole of MadhyaPradesh, Spread over 5 acres of landscape with varieties of

    plants, trees and shrubs. The RSC building architecture isspecial where more than 266 science exhibits related tomechanics, energy, sound, light, atmosphere etc. areinstalled. Most of the exhibits are intended for the visitorsto interact and gain hands-on experience.

    lush green land of 3 acres, which containsmore than 60 nos. of interactive fun-filledworking exhibits. Visitors while playingwith them learn various scientific principles.

    SKY OBSERVATIONFacility for showing the Planets, Moonsurface etc. through sophisticated telescopesto the visitors is available at the Centre. In

    the evening of every Saturday & Sunday.Sky Observation Program is arranged forthe visitors. Special program are done forshowing the astronomical events which

    occur from time to time.

    On first floors, a series ofvertical shading devices areprovided rear the windows.Cylindrical shadingstructures with arches at itstop and bottom have been

    provided at the elevation ofprojected areas of thebuilding.Slopes have been wisely

    used by designing the builtspaces at different levels. Inspite of different levels, theroof of the whole built upspace lies in the same

    plane.
