Section II – Strategic Technology Planning
3. List three goals that will drive the attainment of the vision.
List Goals
Goal 1 All students will benefit from the district wide use of information technology. All students will experience learning opportunities through research based instructional strategies integrated with current content to facilitate problem solving, critical thinking and collaboration.
Goal 2 Professional Development will provide teachers with the opportunity to integrate technology within their
classroom. Teachers will learn to implement new techniques, emulate best practices and provide for
collaboration with colleagues. We will prepare teachers for Computer Based Testing by integrating and
mirroring NYSED State Assessment test. Resources will be made available through Sullivan County Boces,
Orange-Ulster Boces, Mid-Hudson Regional Information Center and Building Technology Coordinators.
Goal 3 Through technology infrastructure upgrades, Eldred will continue to provide equitable access to technology. By maintaining equipment and infrastructure upgrades, such as switches, routers, chrome books, WiFi access, etc. we will be able to keep current with technology and provide thorough accessibility to data needed by students, faculty and staff.
4. Do you want to list a fourth goal that will drive attainment of the vision? No
5. Do you want to list a fifth goal that will drive attainment of the vision? No
6. Summarize the planning process used to develop answers to the Instructional Technology Plan questions
and/or your district comprehensive instructional technology plan. Please include the stakeholder groups
participating and the outcomes of the instructional technology plan development meetings.
We have used the district and building level PDT (professional development teams) to assist with the planning process to this
plan. Instructional Technology Plan development meetings also include Staff, Library Media Specialist, Curriculum
Coordinators, Technology Coaches and Technical Staff. Stakeholders are: Staff, Library Media Specialist, Curriculum Coordinators, Technology Coaches and Tech Staff.
7. Please describe the professional development plan for building the capacity of educators and
administrators in the attainment of the instructional technology vision. Eldred will continue to provide our educators and administrators with the training necessary in technology, from a variety of
resources, such as Sullivan County Boces, Orange-Ulster Boces, the Mid-Hudson Regional Information Center, as well as
online and in-house hands on training. Classes are available for educators throughout the year. Each educator’s skill set will
ultimately affect student learning and achievement, and therefore they will be equipped with the tools necessary to engage
students in learning with technology on a daily basis. Informal discussions among colleagues, independent reading and
research, observations of a colleague’s work and learning from peers is all encouraged. Technology coaches are also
available at all times to assist faculty in being successful in utilizing and implementing the technology available to them.

what worked and make plans for improvement going forward. Evaluations for Professional Development are done through
My Learning Plan.

Section IV – NYSED Initiative Alignment
1. Explain how the district use of instructional technology will serve as a part of comprehensive and sustained
effort to support rigorous academic standards attainment and performance improvement for students.
ECS is committed to integrating digital content into our curriculum and classroom instruction. The digital resources provided
to our students offer the opportunity to access the materials and instruction they need at any time from a personal computer,
chrome book, or other web enabled device. The utilization of digital resources provides a strategic platform for learning and
instruction. These resources are current, efficient and cost effective. ECS makes every effort to utilize text books and
support materials that are available in both print and in digital format for use by our students. ECS complies with the
National Instructional Materials Accessibility Standards (NIMAS) and National Instructional Materials Access Center
(NIMAC). ECS promotes the uses of the internet, interactive videos, on-line courses, and other appropriate technologies for
distance learning. The district has done a considerable amount of Professional Development to integrate the concepts of
differentiated instruction at all grade levels. The district also provides equitable access to instruction, materials and
assessments for all students.
2. Students with disabilities may be served through the use of instructional technology as well as assistive
technology devices and services to ensure access to and participation in the general curriculum. Describe
how instruction is differentiated using technology to support the individualized learning needs of this
student group.
ECS is committed to providing students with disabilities with the tools and technology necessary to help them to become
successful. Although the need for assistive technology devices is minimal at ECS, technology resources are provided for our
students with disabilities, so that they can be successful enhancing their academic achievement in reading, math, writing, and
spelling. ECS understands the need for technology becoming an assistive tool replacing an ability that may be missing or
impaired, providing the student with support they need to accomplish a task and be successful.
3. How does the district utilize technology to address the needs of Students with Disabilities to ensure
equitable access to instruction, materials, and assessments?
Class lesson plans, materials, and assignment instructions are available to students and families for 'anytime, anywhere' access (such as through class website
or learning management system). Direct instruction is recorded and provided for students to access asynchronously (such as through a learning management system or private online video
channel). Technology is used to provide additional ways to access key content, such as providing videos or other visuals to supplement verbal or written instruction or
content. Text to speech and/or speech to text software is utilized to provide increased support for comprehension of written or verbal language. Home language dictionaries and translation programs are provided through technology. Hardware that supports ELL/MLL student learning, such as home-language keyboards, translation pens, and/or interactive whiteboards, is utilized.
Assistive technology is utilized. Technology is used to increase options for students to demonstrate knowledge and skill.
Learning games and other interactive software are used to supplement instruction.
